Meet your future housing providers.
Tumblr media
Anna and I are independent housing providers with two properties on Vancouver Island and one in Russia. If you’re on this blog, we probably just sent you an email. This blog is a chance to get to know us and our properties.

Today we took care of a big one from the list. We dug up all of the pebbles in the front, put down lawn paper, washed the pebbles, and then laid them back down. That *should* weed proof the drive for years.
Then we enjoyed the sunset at Sax Point before catching the ferry.

We put in a couple new apple trees, a pebble path and some lawn paper to keep weeds out of the beds.
One of the big apple trees is getting old, so we’re doing some succession planning so there’s always a tree to pollinate the other one.

Hello!
I’m an experienced housing provider of stylish west coast homes. By trade I’m a internet professional working and living in Vancouver, Canada, but I’m drawn to Vancouver Island, my place of birth, and I’ve kept deep roots here through housing. I have a natural can-do attitude, and I’m drawn to the allure of power tools and hardware stores. Currently I have a fully detached 3-bedroom character home in a historic Victoria, BC neighbourhood, and a 3-bedroom, 4-bathroom townhouse in North Nanaimo. Both homes are in convenient and desirable locations, are well-maintained, and are a joy to own.
I often rent to people moving to BC, looking to get situated before entering the housing market, or more recently, having exited the market. These two properties offer both groups the hassle-free, low-overhead life of renting.
I enjoy getting to know tenants as they work towards their own goals, be they in housing, family or otherwise, but mostly I enjoy picking the right tenants and staying out of their hair. I spend weekends rock climbing, camping and mountaineering in the vast BC wilderness, and I’ve learned the craft of being a private housing provider. I put in a flurry of activity between tenants, and get things set up right the first time, so you can enjoy a nice home, and I can enjoy the breathtaking landscapes our province has to offer.  I assume you found this link through one of my listings. Please contact me to arrange a showing of one of these fine homes.

This is the brand new 3-bedroom 4-bathroom 1,700 sq ft. townhouse in North Nanaimo I purchased for the business in 2017. It is ultra-energy efficient for warm winters, has stainless steel appliances, walk-in showers, bath tubs, two parking spots AND a garage, quartz counter tops - I’m truly sad I don’t get to live in this home myself, but I’m busy now grinding my career out in Vancouver.
The home is walking distance to both shopping and beautiful lake hikes. It’s a quick drive from the Departure Bay ferry terminal, making trips to Vancouver easy, and it accesses the highway easily for trips to Victoria, Tofino, Strathcona park, and all of the other Vancouver Island wonders in and around Nanaimo.  This home is perfect for families, professionals looking to live in Nanaimo before purchasing, and executives who commute to Vancouver on Harbour Air.

Here is the Victoria home. It’s a 100 year old house in a neighbourhood full of well maintained turn-of-the-century houses. This west coast home is perfect for small families or professions looking to live in Victoria before purchasing a home.
At the moment this is the closest fully-detached 3 bedroom home to downtown, and probably will be for a long time, since I don’t plan to sell it, and everything else this close to town has been bought and is either owner-lived or has had basement suites and attic suites stuffed inside. If you just want a space for yourself right in town, this is one of very few gems left.  The home is close to the hospital, has busses to the university (Uvic), and connects quickly to Blanchard street so you’re on the highway easily for weekends up island or in Vancouver.  The small yard is well maintained by Bruce, the groundskeeper, with two apples trees that produce more apples than you’ll be able to eat. I often give them to the neighbours. The vegetable bed produces keeps producing potatoes even when I’ve tried to stop it.  The home has two parking spots, and lots of free street parking nearby. There is a tonne of storage in the basement, and renovations and upkeep since I’ve owned the home include a 40 year roof, insulated exterior walls, double-insulated attic, new heating and electrical, new perimeter drain, new front steps, all new floors including slate kitchen and marble bathroom, all new cabinetry, quartz kitchen and bathroom counter tops and updated sinks and faucets, new appliances (except the stove, which still works fine), professional landscaping, and as a signature piece, a library built into the master bedroom wall.

#Renovations to the 3 bedroom fully detached single family home in Fernwood, Victoria BC. This home is 100+ years old, but 8 years of upkeep give it all the comforts of a modern west coast home.
