Danny Glover has been trying to get funding for his movie about the Haitian revolution. Angela Basset, Wesley Snipes, and Mos Def have already signed on to act in it. Danny Glover has blogged about not getting funding because this movie has no white heroes. This is a story that needs to be told. Notice how in 12 years a slave, amistad, Django, all have a white character who is somehow not like the rest of his devil cohorts and does what he has to do to free us???? When there’s a movie that comes out where we free ourselves…. Well my friend that image is too powerful for Hollywood to let our babies see.
