For the tropes thing, how about enemies to lovers?

I'd give it a B, it can be really good but it can also be done really badly.

For example, WHY are they enemies? Is it some dumb reason like, "They looked at me wrong/stole my teddy bear in first grade"? Or is it good, like, "They killed a family member/broke something incredibly emotionally or magically important?" Heck, even "I don't remember, we've been fighting for so long I can't imagine NOT fighting with them" is a decent answer.

What is their reason for resolving the problem/becoming lovers? Was there a MASSIVE FUCKING MISUNDERSTANDING that finally got smoothed out? Did one of them believe that the other hated them, but it finally got revealed that they didn't? Was one of them literally under a spell that made them hate the other, and it was finally broken?

This trope can be SO, SO GOOD, but it can also be a chore to read. It all depends in how it's written.

Also, it makes for some really, REALLY good slowburn.

Give me a fanfiction trope and I’ll grade it:

A: Love it. Spend my time combing AO3 for it.

B: Like it. Not one of my bigger cravings, but it can scratch a certain itch if I’m in the right mood.

C: Neutral. A good author might be able to sell it, but a bad one will kill it deader than dead.

D: Not my favorite. I avoid it if I can, but it won’t necessarily put me off reading something.

F: Hate it. Will immediately make me nope out of a fic.
