Darryl Dawkins 1957-2015 R.I.P, “Chocolate Thunder”, who was a flamboyant character on and off the court of professional basketball. I loved watching him dunk and always got a kick out of those loud suits he used to wear during the All Star games. Darryl Dawkins was the 1st player to make the leap from high school to the NBA in 1975. At the time he was a 6’11’ and 255 pounds 18 year old man/child. Stevie Wonder of all people gave him the nickname “Chocolate Thunder” due to his powerful dunks on the basketball court. As a member of the Philadelphia 76ers Dawkins shattered many glass backboards. He had several nicknames for his dunks, including "Your Mama" that was for any opponent foolish enough trying to block one of his dunks. I'm sorry to hear the passing of Darryl Dawkins, he was just 58 years old. #chocolatethunder #nba #basketballplayer #76ers #basketball #darryldawkins #haitians_everywhere

Cherry Blossom Trees (Sakura) located in Meguro River in Nakameguro, Tokyo. Nakameguro is a beautiful neighborhood in Tokyo, where the Meguro River runs through it and has about 580 cherry blossom trees line on both sides of the river. During the spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom the city is transform from a quiet neighborhood into a buzzing metropolis as people come from all over Tokyo to celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Tiger’s Nest Monastery Located in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched precariously on the edge of a 3,000-feet-high cliff in Paro Valley, is one of the holiest places in Bhutan. The monastery, formally called Taktshang Goemba, was built in 1692 and reconstructed in 1998 after a fire. Now, the monastery is restricted to practicing Buddhists on religious retreats and is off-limits to ordinary tourist. Tiger's Nest can only be reach on foot or mule. The monastery is surrounded by the stunningly green, fertile of the Paro valley, which is a site to see in itself for its pristine environmental conservation. Once geographically isolated from the rest of world, Tiger’s Nest is regarded as a unique spiritual place, and is the site of many Buddhist pilgrimages. To visit the monastery may awaken spirituality or a profound admiration of the majesty of nature, appreciation of culture, or splendor of art and architecture.

Petionville, Haiti Haiti is much more than just a country shantytowns, according to the international media. When a Haitian mentioned that their family is from Petionville it is a status sysmbol, it's like saying my family is from the Hampton's, Park Ave, or Beverly Hills. Petionville is a suburban town of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Located east of Port-au-Prince on the northern hills of the Massif de la Selle. It is a very affluent part of the country, the town is primarily a residential and a popular tourist attraction. It has a population of 342,694 estimated in 2009. Petionville is part city and part suburb. A large number of wealthy citizens do business and reside in Petionville, along with diplomats, foreign businessmen. The community is very stable, with nightlife, beauty salons, fitness gyms, restaurants, boutique and other businesses. Despite the social and political aspect of the town it's a nice place to visit. One day I hope all of Haiti can look like this.
