But that hasn’t done him any issues in the past. “So how could I earn the trust of someone who shares my opinions on U.A.’s top class?” He’s putting a lot of emphasis on that phrase, exaggerating it as a joke. 

"So you don't trust me?"

“Not just you. But to be fair, we just met. I don’t trust the woman who raised me, much less a near-stranger. I’m sure you understand.”

Something sad forms in his stomach at that. A bitter taste fills his mouth a moment later.  If only I had heard this before. Ah, well. I’m not unhappy where I am now. “I suppose I could, yeah. You can copy the quirks of others, right?” He gives a light smile, leaning against the outer wall of Gym Gamma- He had come here to practice. The dorms had been a bit of a setback, but at least now he has more opportunities to get stronger. “You could really get the jump on someone, especially in a group.”

Oh, huh. “You’re the guy from the sports festival, yeah? One of the unlucky ones who didn’t get past the cavalry.”
