Farewell, Tumblr
WADbot has been posting here since 2015, via Tumblr's queue feature. I typically queue up two weeks' worth of posts at a time, every other Sunday. Today it reached the end of its queue, and I'm sorry to announce that due to recent Tumblr leadership decisions, I won't be queuing up any more posts here.
I haven't yet decided on a new home for WADbot - it currently has a presence on Mastodon at [at] wadbot [at] botsin.space and on Cohost at [at] wadbot, but those posts just link back to the actual image posts which have always been hosted here on Tumblr. But I will leave this blog up as long as Tumblr itself is up, and I will post here (and on those other sites, if you want to follow there) when I decide what to do.
Until then, WADbot is on yet another hiatus. But fear not! There are still many more worlds of Doom out there waiting to be rediscovered. In the meantime, just in case any happen to interest you, I have several other non-Doom-related bots running on Mastodon and Cohost.

It is rather simple since I cannot generate the nodes structure for anything much more complex than this. This level has been generated entirely by hand. No editors were used to produce it.

IRONHALL.WAD: iron hall MAP30 (640, 1200, -64) Author: Michael Krause Date: 1996-11-28 Description: 1 level WAD. Excessive attention given to the appearence of the level (texture selection, alignment, lighting). I use a P120 machine, so I imagine some areas may run slowly on a underpowered machine.

It consists of 18 regular levels and 1 secret level. The levels range from moderate to hard and are all very well done. Enjoy!

HELLBLK2.WAD: HellBlok 2 E3M4 (-528, 1136, -96) Author: Sean Date: 2005-05-05 Description: This WAD file is the sequel to my first WAD file, HellBlok.wad. There are a few new texture mapped walls in this episode - nothing too fancy. If you enjoy HellBlok 2, check-out the first HellBlok. You start out the game with you and your buddies confined to a containment area. Player one has just blown away a Trooper and has aquired the Blue Keycard. For those of you playing HellBlok 2 in Cooperative Mode, whoever starts the game off as Player 1 must open the cells containing the other Players. If not, then they'll just rot there, and that's no fun - or is it? There are 2 Exits out of HellBlok 2. At the Demon Convention, jump through the fast blinking Gate for an additional Blood-Slaughtering episode. Peace in Hell - Sean.

Participants were given 100 minutes to create a Doom 2 level on a certain theme. This week's theme was to build a co-op map set in an outdoors environment.

ozonia.wad: Ozonia MAP20: Moonblood II (7852, -771, 96) Author: Deadwing Date: 2022-11-02 Description: Ozonia is the third mapset of the Moonblood series, containing 32 carefully designed short maps with compatibility level 9. It's my most ambitious project by far and hopefully the most refined of the trilogy! It's heavily inspired by Plutonia, but it has its own flavor to create a refreshing and unique classic Doom experience! Eviternity, Ancient Aliens, BTSX series and Monti's work are also other big influences. The levels are as difficult as Eviternity with very low enemy count and strategic setpieces, but early E1 maps are easier to allow a nice learning curve. As expected, exploration will take a large role in these maps, but I worked really hard to make them as straight forward as possible so the players won't feel lost. The wad features two new enemies: - Hierophant: replaces romero's head and it is a mid-tier flying demon which fires a mancubus shot and goes berserk if it takes a shot. - Hellion: replaces commander keen and is a fast moving low-tier demon that shoots three plasma bullets while moving himself.

Nostalgia.wad: Nostalgia MAP19: Times of Grace (-467, -1203, 117) Author: myolden Date: 2022-08-21 Description: Nostalgia is a 32 map megawad in Doom 2 format for limit removing sourceports. These maps take modern map design philosophy in my style and coat it with a layer of old-school paint, leaving behind the super detailed aesthetic in favor of simpler geometry. Each map is relatively short, with the difficulty falling somewhere between vanilla Doom 2 and Plutonia. This map set also follows the vanilla Doom 2 episode format, with each episode being seperated by a death exit. Aside from this, these maps can be completed either continuous or by pistol start.
