Zelda: Breath of the Wild

How many years since I have played a game that kept me up until 2AM when I have to work the next day?! Five years since MGS:V came out.

Then I decided to get a switch because Playstation summer months drought with no title that excited enough for me to play.

Well my first game for the switch- ZELDA. A game series I really haven’t touched since windwaker which to me It was fun but it was a bit (childish) with cartoonish looking grahics but like I said fun.

Well what were my first impression of Breath of the Wild? I simply could not and will not put it down anytime soon. The game IS THAT GOOD

The game begins when the game main character Link awakens after being in a deep sleep for over 100 years. He has no recollection of who he is and all his memory is lost. As soon as you step out you meet an old man who sends you on a hunt for some shrines each containing the tools you’ll need to fight in the game; so pretty much all you need is given to you within the first 1-2 hours of the game. No big tutorials, the game gives you the tools and its up to you to use them as you like. So much freedom from a game series which followed the same formula over and over for many years. Player goes to a dungeon, defeat the boss and get flashy new gear or power. None of that here and it feels like a new game all of sudden.

The fighting mechanics are all new. You can dodge head on strikes, do back flips, and surprise the enemy when they are not looking. In this game there are multiple ways to finish off an oponent. You can hack and slash until your weapon breaks or throw a bomb at them sending them flying 10 feet up in the air. Player discretion at its finest

You have a slot for a bow, shield, weapon. Each of these as you use them they become weak braking as you strike the enemy it is your job to pick up new ones as you go as you venture to new areas they enemy will drop better weapons and you upgrade as you go.

The Map: is Huge!! So big that I have tried to discover as many shrines possible so it cuts down on my travel time. Each shrine makes you solve puzzle rewarding you with an orb. After 4 you get to pick if you want to upgrade your stamina or to increase your hearts. You can fast travel to shrines and towers. Towers reveal a region for you. Early on you can tame a horse to help you travel across the gigantic map. Even though I find myself climbing and gliding from place to place more effective.

What is there to do: ever been bored... NO! the game has many things to keep you busy. On your way to defeat Calamity Ganon, you find different meats, vegetables, fruits to give you health. Cook some elixers to make you more stealthy or keep you warm in the colder parts of the map. You can chase shooting starts to collect particles to strengthen your gear. Each time you go you meet people with interesting requests for you to do. Most will give you a nice reward for helping them out. In doing all of this you’re constantly surveying the map looking for treasures, wood to make some fire or and looking for items to farm; and the best part it does not seem boring at all.

My Veredict. If you were to get the Nintendo Switch for only one game I would advise you to get it just so you can play Zelda. The gameplay has been re-written to give this series new life; it has a tons of things you can do and explore to keep you engaged from begining to end! And the best part a sequel was announced at E3 last month. But don’t take my word for it. Try it yourself it wont disappoint

FIFA 19 DEMO

So its finally here and I got to play it really quick a few mins ago.

Only two game modes available: Kick Off and The Journey, I myself don’t enjoy the journey much and I’m really sorry guys but it’s just not my thing. So I didn’t bother with it.

Now kick off mode was were its at. My first match was with Juventus now everyone is going to think I wanted to play with “Ronaldo” but def not the case, I like Douglas Costa and Dybala so I wanted to see how the team was going to perform with the Ronaldo on the pitch. Interesting enough the two times I scored were with Matuidi.

Onto my impression of the demo: the game feels new. The stadiums look amazing and the Champion League cut scenes were incredible. The AI seemed a bit more responsive and I felt they didn’t do what they normally did in ‘18 just sit when you have the opposing team in your box they actually were more aggresive.

The formation I used was the 4-3-3 with the CAM and I found the AI did a decent job in chance creation and getting into positions, maybe a little bit too much as I was called offiside 3x but that could been my fault since I was playing very aggressive.

The tackeling seemed better than in previous years and I found my players doing exactly what I had asked them to do like “staying back while attacking” and “Cutting off passing lanes aggresively”

It’s a real shame FUT team is not available in the demo but I def. understand why not. I looked in the menus to see if “house rules” mode were available but it seem it was not either. I’ll prob play a few more matches to get ready for when it’s released but won’t be spending too much time on it as I want to go all in on FUT team as soon as it available.

The custom tactics were different but I’ll talk more about once the game is released.

If you like FIFA try the demo see how the game feels and patienly wait like me to really try the new game modes and so forth.

My First Impression of Marvel’s spiderman

This game has surpassed my expectations. I believe its the best spiderman game ever released and I wouldn’t be surprise if they release another one.

The busy gaming season is upon us as major titles will be released from now until years end.

Intro

I’ve been into Gaming all my life. The first time I picked up a game controller was in Cuba. It was ‘93-94 and the first game I ever played was “Street Fighter” and I was hooked. At that time in a place like

Cuba video games was a rare thing so my gaming was restricted to everytime I would visit my mom’s relative since she had a SNES in her house. I couldn’t play much either because she rented the time you could spend playing so for lets say 30 mins of play time was like $5 cuban pesos or something.

In 1996 I came to the U.S with my mom and all I could ask for was a “nintendo”.

We went to a thrift store and my mom got me a NES. Can’t remember the price but I got a few games with it Metal Gear, Mario and duck hunt. I played Mario because I was more familiar with it. I wanted more since I had played the SNES and I liked it better.

So for Xmas we went to Walmart and I had two choices N64 or a SNES. Ignorant me didn’t know SNES was being phased out and N64 was what I should had gotten. But I got the SNES with two games. Street Fighter and Super Mario World. I had this SNES from ‘97 until I got my first part time and I bought a used Playstation 2. My parents never upgraded my system because we couldn’t afford it so for Xmas I would get things such as clothes and shoes. I’m not complaining but man I would had rather walk around naked and get a Playstation.

Either way I would play 8-9 hours daily on my SNES on summer break playing games such as Ninja turtles, Xmen Mutant apocalypse, Mario and many more.

My love for gaming just grew every day more. So I decided to create this blog to share with others the games I like, my opinions and to connect with all the gamers like me.
