It's sad. The amount of work she put into crafting countless stage props from 2008 tours, to several sets of costumes, to album shoots, graphics and fun looking websites. Even unrelated small crafty stuff from Willow Tech House and perfumes/cosmetics. The music, ofc. And then… reselling Taobao tier shit. Selling fucking letters and numbers as NFTs. And then the last "creative" thing in her career was typing prompts into AI programs. Fuck this I'm bitter about how it all ends.

Retiring from normal shows was one of her worst decisions. It's been 10 years since "Asyloom on West End in 2014!!!" thing. You would think, if EA craves staging her own musical so much, she would try to fulfill this dream even just partly instead of waiting next 20 years for something that will never happen. She should've organized Asylum Experience type tour, just INDOORS. And longer than 30mins. And just add ANY stage props besides cage bars. I'm sure that would be a hit.

deep down i'm still chuckling at those who were fooled by her ai art, thinking it was her own hands, and then defending her. "of course this was made by her! fake fan!! you just hate women!" i hope those people have become more literate to ai images and tomfoolery. i will happily continue to call it out EA if she (or anyone else ) ever bothered to try to trick us again lol. -with love, an actual artist that uses their two hands instead of a prompter.

I was thinking and it seems to me that she wasn’t much of a virtuoso with violin. I think that she wrote face the wall as a token instrumental music to play live to prove she’s a great composer and master. Yes we also got Unlaced part of the album but all of the music is heavy edited with all the multi track and drums, she was placing her bets on Face the wall only as it’s the only “raw” electric violin piece. She’s a great performer but she either never loved heavy violin that much or she wasn’t sure if she could pull off super speedy shredding live OR she didn’t know how to write single track captivating electric violin piece. I love her violins but she has surprisingly little of them considering she presented herself as a violinist singer

The only version of her book I've read is the (nearly identical to the first edition) second edition from 2010 or so, the big hefty hardcover with the gorgeous illustrations and layout designs and all, and it is very near and dear to my heart. I feel like now I'm always hearing people complain about things from tafwvg that make me go "I don't fucking remember that" and then it turns out it's from one of the shitmillion later revisions she has published. I think one very solid issue one could take with EA, in many areas, is that she simply doesn't know when to say when or leave well enough alone, whether in petty internet arguments or in her work. IMHO, Opheliac and tafwvg (at least the early versions) are both perfect works of art, and together (along with the EPs and such from that era, like 4 oclock) create a stunning magnum opus. FLAG, and everything that has come after, has only been downhill. And it is absolutely heartbreaking to see her constantly overpolishing everything until she's worn a hole right through the heart of it.

I forget about her for months and then come back. I do still care about her and enjoy her music in small doses sometimes and wonder if she's okay and if she's really working on something or not? Not demanding anything but I care still a little. She's part of my teenaged hood and young adult hood forever.

If anyone wants an artist recommendation similar to Emilie, I recommend Birdeatsbaby.
As far as I'm aware, they aren't problematic, and they're still making music. And some of it (Feast of Hammers, the album) just gives me Emilie vibes tbh.

I just miss her. Even just her posting on ig. I miss her Darjeeling updates and her art projects and her tarot check ins. I really wish the whole ai thing never happened. It all just makes me sad. When she shows up in Marc's ig stories, it at least makes me happy to know she's ok. But the whole thing is just so sad to me.

I always become a hater fan no matter what artist I cling to. Currently I’m into this “ewww not your face again, just shut up” with a certain favourite artist of mine and while I understand how weird and dumb that is I just can’t let that artist go. It used to be the same with Emilie about 6 years ago, while she was still active on her social media and worked on Asylum. I was like “Enough with your fake British mannerisms! Enough with your Asylum! Dye your hair red again!”. Well it’s no surprise, almost everyone here are hater fans lmao. Anyway, now I outgrew that phase and I just cherish her past creations and I’m glad I became a fan. I no longer shit her for breathing, just love Emilie Autumn for what she used to do and what she gave me and all the future inspiration I still might get!!!
