R/warrior cats is a toxic and unmoderated wasteland. Mods take ages to take action with issues or to make sure the sub rules are being followed, people who have consistently continued to make problems within the community and have been complained about to the mods are still allowed in the community, and I see rules being broken all the damn time.

It is a very annoying hivemind as another issue. The Leopardstar hate bandwagon currently going on is getting old and I say that as a Leopardstar #1 hater. People shit on the most ridiculous topics and keep that topic going for weeks, mods again do nothing about it, and it takes so long for uncredited art to get consequences. I am also uncomfortable with the fact that adults so freely interact with and belittle literal children on it.

R/warriorcats deserves to be thrown into a dumpster and left to rot.

I forgot how sudden and depressing the end to Crookedstar's promise is... Less than a chapter before it Willowbreeze dies, and a page before the end is when he gets into the fight with Oakheart because he is neglecting his daughter due to his greif... Anyways Crookedstar's Promise GOES HARD.

I don't understand people who react to far fetched AUs or role reversal AUs or any kind of AUs that take characters and make them OOC with "at this point just make it an OC story".

Sometimes it's just interesting to take a character with a specific background you don't want to change, and wonder what could have happened to them if the writers took their character development in another direction (or gave them one at all in a lot of cases).

Nice Ashfur? Why not! After his trauma from Tigerclaw using his mom as a pawn in his plan, he could have a deep respect for a she-cat's independance and not get so controlling over Squirrelflight.

Evil Graystripe for some reason? Sure, his half brother's Darkstripe, he could have very well been taken under his wing young and been under Tigerclaw's influence.

Brackenfur leaving on a journey of self discovery with with Stormfur, Nightcloud and Russetfur, even though none of them have ever interacted with each other in canon or have anything in common? Why not, it's an AU after all! Have fun.

The rule of thumb of creating fan content is to have fun. And even if it's messy or far fetched or barely hangs on a thread of canon, if you enjoyed creating it with the media's characters in mind then you're all good and you shouldn't let anyone bring the mood down saying that it should be OCs because it doesn't make sense with canon. Fun doesn't always make sense!

I read a fic on A03 about Foxleap and Swallowtail and that I really enjoyed it, but I just want to know how that even got started??

How and when did these two have an interaction in the series? Did I miss something?

Unless it's something like abusing a real person, (no, problematic art or writing doesn't count, because there are fifty different definitions of problematic and some of them include Firesand so I don't really trust the fandom to not suicide bait a minor), we shouldn't be publicly shaming people. As a fandom we are far too toxic and discourse happy to be able to do that with any confidence.

putting this here beforehand just in case:

tw - brief grooming + zoophilia mention (i don't go into details, don't worry)

anon, i understand the vague idea of what you are trying to say but this mindset is incredibly harmful. children (and the book series *is* aimed at children so they make up a large portion of the fandom) should not be exposed to things like nsfw art/fan content.

if someone is out there making weird nsfw/incest/harmful content, you shouldn't just ignore it. it isn't toxic to call out people like that, it's a responsible thing to do. the idea that all content is ok unless it's hurting someone irl is insane.

"problematic" art and writing *can* be used as a tool to harm people too. groomers frequently use things like that to coax their victims into thinking that sort of thing is normal. this fandom is full of zoophiles and groomers, we don't need to make this easier for them by just... letting these things slide.

like i said, i understand what you are trying to say about toxic behaviour in the fandom, but calling out creeps and weirdos is, in fact, not toxic.

I know a lotta people complain about WLW shipping in WC usually being a pairing that's like... "a woman stealing her brother's mate" but to be honest it's nearly the only foolproof way to avoid incest or large age/maturity gaps. So I think it's ok

She is one of my comfort characters and as a cupioromantic person, I love that I can find at least somewhat applicable evidence towards it.

i feel like alot of people base their fanon interpretation of Ashfur purely on the fire scene and ignore every other aspect of his character which is so...weird to me? especially since from my (and some of my friends) pov, the fire scene was really ooc for him

so anyways on this topic i love Lionblaze and Ashfur and i need more of their dynamic please please please give me angst on Lionblaze feeling betrayed by Ashfur trying to leave him for dead. give me angst on Ashfur feeling guilt for not being able to disassociate Lionblaze from Squirrelflight due to his obsessive nature. i want them to fight and cry and reconcile and for it to be cut off by Ashfur dying !!!! THERE'S SO MUCH TO WORK WITH,,,,,,,

In ASC post-retirement Brambleclaw… actually feels like how he used to be again?? Thank god.

I didn’t ever really care for him in general, but he wasn’t a bad cat as a warrior. Not perfect and very flawed, but generally well-meaning! But when he became Bramble*star*? He suddenly became a jerkwad. I could not STAND him in AVOS, Bramblestar’s Storm, or Squirrelflight’s Hope.

But now that he’s an elder, he’s gotten his old personality back, which is good. I much prefer his as Brambleclaw to Bramblestar

I hate Blossomfall for the way she treated Briarlight. Briarlight was already being infantilized by Millie and instead of supporting her she just????? Hates her???

I would’ve preferred if Blossomfall wanted to be in the dark forest because she “wanted to be stronger and protect Briarlight” unintentionally internalizing Millie’s infantilization of her before realizing that Briarlight is happy with who she is. Instead of being jealous her sister is disabled??

One thing I really hate about Breezepelt is that the writer's forgot/aren't aware that he tried to kill both Poppyfrost (pregnant at the time) and Jayfeather at the moonpool. Like, it never really comes up after the attack happens: they both never mention it after the attack and it never once comes up in Crowfeather's Trial. I sort of like his redemption but come on, at least let him admit to almost killing a pregnant cat and a medicine cat.

i didnt even know people thought juniperclaw was problematic or whatever oh my god holy shit he is like. one of the least problematic but most complex characters. he didnt even try to poison skyclan out of ill intent he just wanted the fighting to stop. he killed himself by drowning to punish himself because he felt so fucking bad. he went to the DF (which in my opinion. is bullshit) but after all the imposter shit he offered to guard the tunnels... his last words before his death were literally "telll tigerstar im sorry"what the fuck how does anyone hate him he is the best character
