1. How many works do you have on A03? A shocking 76!

2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 1,430,364

3. What fandoms do you write for? Harry Potter, the Marauders Era, exclusively Jily as far as pairings go. I used to write Gilmore Girls fanfiction when I was a very young teenager (between 12-15).

4. What are your top five fics by kudos? A Game of Thrones, Call It What You Want, It Only Takes A Taste, Lily in the Sky with Diamonds, Knocked Up By Me Ex.

5. Do you respond to comments? I try to as much as I can, but sometimes real life gets in the way or I just want to get the new chapter up and I want to write more than I want to reply to comments. Do know that I read every single one of them and that I love them and cherish them for eternity!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? The angstiest ending? Pfft... I don't like angsty endings. I have angsty starts and middles, but I think endings should never be angsty. That's what canon is for in case of Jily.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hmm... I think most of them have a happy ending (once they are complete). I like the way that Call It What You Want ended after all the drama.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really. I get the odd comment, but that's it.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do. More so recently. I definitely do not feel comfortable writing it just yet. I try to make it good, but I usually cringe when I reread what I have written and just hope that you think it's sexy. I get in my head about it.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Not crossovers so much, but I definitely have works inspired by other works, such as Lily in the Sky with Diamonds, Happy Place, 10 Things I Hate About You, etc.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of! Fingers crossed this is not ever going to happen!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I have received requests, but none that were actually published, I am sure. Someone once made a podfic of one of my works.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not really, but know that I am always open to it! @athenasparrow and I might work together at some point.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Jily. Until the very end.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I plan on finishing most. I have a schedule for finishing a couple of works this summer. But... yeah... I hope I can finish everything.

16. What are your writing strengths? Hmm... conveying emotions, I think? Maybe dialogue, too? I don't know. I would need to ask you, probably.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Hmm... perfectionism? I can really worry over the use of one word or the syntax of a phrase. I hate that, to be honest.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Why not?

19. First fandom you wrote for? Gilmore Girls, funnily enough, seeing as I was such a Harry Potter fan as a child and teenager first. But I very quickly switched to Jily and never left.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Oh, hmm... currently I think it's Call It What You Want. This may change! Hahahaha! I suppose I had never considered myself capable of writing anything so smutty.

Think I Know Where You Belong (Think I Know It's With Me)

Chapter 2: Going Off About Something That You Said

It's been a week and a half, but I finished a chapter of this little fic I started two weeks ago after an anon asked me to write something for Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me".

At thirty-three years old, Lily Evans fears she may not quite have lived up to her potential. Single and living alone – if one does not consider her cat a flatmate, that is – her days are blurs of monotony, most of her students getting more action than she has seen in the past decade. (Hyperbole gratuitously applied.) Insert James Potter – former classmate and unrequited crush – who appears to be on a mission – aside from promoting his fourth novel – to point out all of her flaws, while strutting the hallways of their former secondary, the place she has never left and he will forever haunt now that the board has decided to name the school library in his honour. (F*ck her life.)

I arrived 1 minute late to one of my classes with 17-year-old students today, because I couldn’t get past a group of students trying to cram themselves into a classroom all at once. The first thing my students said to me:

“Miss, you were too busy listening to Taylor Swift, weren’t you? That’s why you are late!”

Then I talked to them about the album and they were so sweet, even though they most likely thought I was insane for it. 😂

(And then I reluctantly taught them what I was meant to.)

Guilty as sin inspired jily story…….. 🤍

I am barely alive, people. I actually cried so much while listening to this album and gasped and dropped my phone as I listened to “The Black Dog” for the first time.

Honestly, I want to write something for every song and I most likely will. I just need to listen again!

I am barely getting through the day! Is anyone else having this problem?

My James is not quick to anger, that's true. Definitely not where Lily is concerned. I think you'll see me write an angrier/moodier James soon, though.

I owe you an update on the musical I was in!

First of all, thank you for all your support and the kind messages. It was truly heartwarming and I appreciate the confidence you inspired.

I am so happy that I decided to audition for this show. It had been a long time coming, seeing as I loved being in theatre shows in secondary and I furthermore wrote and direct shows for my students now. Being on stage again myself and doing something I love again, felt like coming home.

So many people congratulated me, told me I made them cry and that my facial expressions alone - apparently - told the story I wanted to tell. It has been a wonderful experience and I think it was not my last on a stage.

Anyway, I am back to work and writing, so you can absolutely expect an update some time this week, definitely over the weekend!

Aww, thank you so much @yevanss ❤️ This truly is such a lovely message to wake up to! I’ve done one intense dress rehearsal and two shows. I am doing two more shows today. All of them have been sold out so far and today’s are too!

So the pressure is there - especially juggling it with work and life in general - but I am enjoying it immensely! I will let you know how today goes! Off to get to the theatre now. 😊

The best review I got so far was that of a 12-year-old girl in the audience, who wrote and left me a handwritten note: I thought you were amazing tonight! You did so well and I totally think you deserve the main part. I got so emotional reading it, my week was made. 🥹

Do you think James Potter was a pervert as a teenager?

The Cambridge English Dictionary definition of pervert is “a person whose sexual behaviour is considered strange and unpleasant by most people / a person whose sexual behaviour is considered unnatural and morally wrong.”

Taking into consideration this definition and everything I know about him as a character, I do not think James Potter is even close to perverted.

In addition, I believe that James Potter would very much like to be excluded from the narrative that he may be.

I do not know if this ask was meant to aggravate me, but seeing as I very clearly love both James Potter and Lily Evans, I don’t think it will come as a surprise to you that I think you asked the wrong person if you wanted anyone to answer in the affirmative.

Hi everyone! I most likely won't be able to update a thing this week due to the fact that I will be performing in the musical I've been rehearsing for since September. I'm both nervous and excited at the same time. (Being a lead is great, but the pressure I am putting on myself... that bit is not so fun.) I am over halfway on the next chapter for Pinkest Bluestocking of the Ton and I had wanted to finish it tonight, but I am feeling tired and decided that it might be best if I give myself a bit of a break, so I can focus on work and the shows this week. Anyway, here's a tiny PBOTT snippet, which I hope you'll enjoy and might tide you over. I'll be back soon!
