In today’s society, the first thing people ask you is whether:
1. You have a great career.
2. You have a wonderful relationship
3. You make a nice salary
4. You have degrees in big majors (I mean the big ones: medicine, engineering, law and others. Carpentry, library science & others are looked down by a lot. They call them useless degree, because they don’t pay well. And, no one ever cares to ask whether the skill owner is happy.)
Anyways, you are assigned respect according to these lists. You are either seen as a success or a failure.
It is almost as if there is an established manual of which everyone is judged by. When in reality, there is no such manual in life.
But, when a young adult’s approach to life is different from the above list, he or she is immediately judged.
It is no longer whether you are living the life you want, or achieving your own idea of success. And above all, being happy where you want to be.
No no no, it is about fitting into any one of the assigned categories. Just because everyone else do it.
Wow!
And, society still wonders why divorce & suicide rates are high? Or, why a lot of people are extremely unhappy?
I mean how does society expect young adults to be happy when it is continually forcing down outdated expectations down their throats?
Think about it.
When you demand a different approach which allows a huge degree of flexibility to focus on other aspects of living- family, happiness & wellbeing, you are labeled “Entitled”.
It makes you wonder, “Entitled to what exactly? I mean does society pay our bills or work to put foods on our tables?”
With that said, better start doing the things you want in life. In the end, no one actually gives a damn. 1000 years from now, a majority of us will not be remembered.
And, that includes me too.
Therefore, create your own ideal happiness. Whether it is hiking across the mountains of the world or a simple happy farmer, be content in your noble goals in life!

There is an art to waking up in the morning.
Some wake and try to scratch their eyes out. I have not figured out why yet.
Some wake loudly with a yawn that will make a grown bear insecure.
Some wake with a hiss as if they are not too happy seeing the morning sun filter through the curtains of their rooms.
Some wake up quickly as if they have an internal alarm clock.
Some wake their legs up first, then their arms stretching across their sky while their brains are working frantically to open their eyes.
Some just jump out of bed. You know , like frrrrrrruh… just out and straight to the bathroom.
Some wake and fall asleep again.
Some wake up smacking their lips. Then, wipe them off with the back of their hands.
Some hear their phone’s alarm in their sleep and dump a lot of pillows on the phone to drown the sound. This is while half their brain cells are asleep.
Some have to fall out of bed to wake up.
Some wake up like a grizzly bear. It goes arrrrrrrrroaarrrrr with snort and saliva coming out of facial orifices.
Some wake themselves up with their snores. Then, they look around the room scared. They either go back to sleep or it is morning for them.
Some get woken by their pets right on their faces wondering what God was thinking when he created their owners.
Well… others wake up yodeling half asleep all the way to the refrigerator for a cold water. It is…
Yodel-oh-ee-dee
Diddly-odel-oh-ee-dee
Diddly-odel-oh-ee-dee…
all the way to being wide awake.🤣

Happiness is fluid. It is like a breeze. You feel it coming. You bask in its feeling. And, it is pure bliss.
Nothing equates to the feeling.
In a happy state, you can think well. You can live well. You can see well. You can love well. Hell, you can even accept your fair share of life challenges without complaints.
In the absence of happiness, misery takes root. It is bad mojo. This is because it clouds judgement. I am yet to meet a miserable person who thinks and functions clearly.
Usually, misery makes one base everything on emotions alone. Logic is rarely used. Even when used, it is used to justify the existing condition- misery. Hence, the perpetual existing of that horrible state of mind.
But what is happiness, my fellow adults?
Well… no one knows. This is because it differs from person to person. What we know is when you are happy, you will know. Everyone around you gets a bit of it, because it is positive and warm.
With that said, there is no metric used for measuring happiness. To set a metric is to impose one subjective reasoning onto another person.
Meaning- You and I cannot advice each other on how to be happy. It is utterly useless. However, we can tell each other to stop lying to ourselves and seek what truly matters to us. If this is done, one may have a chance of true happiness.
Note the sentence “one may have”, so it is still not guaranteed. But, you have a shot at it when you go for what truly matters to you.
What do you think?

Here is one beautiful thing I have come to love about life.
Sometimes, life just sucks the energy out of you. You wake up hoping to find happiness. You live by trying to find an adjustment between discovering yourself and what society expects from you.
You work. You live. You smile. You feel. You screw. You create. You build. You cry. You hope. You lose. You win. You lose again. You cry.
Most times, you don’t get pats on the shoulders. Every now & then, someone pats you on the back. And, you are relieved.
You feel relieved not because you were patted on the back, but because someone else subtly tells you, “Hey, I have been there before.”
So, you derive comfort from the knowledge you will make it through.
Then, comes days of renewed strength. Of hope. Of love. Of energy. In a way, you feel and see the reason behind it all.
You put on your cowboy’s hat and boots. And, you continue to sojourn on.
This is what I have come to love about life. During the worst days of my life, I have to respect it. Life is not the rival I think it is, it is a pal which clings onto you. It does this, with the hope we will come to appreciate the opportunity of experience.

Life has a way of caressing those it loves. From the tickling feelings of its fragile fingers, the goddess surely know a way into each human’s heart.
Hence, why some of the life challenges it throws our way seem personal sometimes. You can’t help, but wonder whether it is a tough love, a fate, or a human flaw.
I seem to contemplate these things. The eccentricity of the observable universe lacks randomness to it. Nothing is purely coincidental.
If it is, then it will negate Newton’s First Law of Motion. Yes- I am bringing in physics here because the observable reality seems to be governed by a set of rules. A combination of which work to maintain order.
Hence, why I conjured a goddess to quantify aspects of it that I cannot explain as a human being. When you think about it, we have a knack for conjuring these things. A good example is the concept of God.
God is humanized because we cannot understand the concept, although we claim to. It is a structure outside the human construct, but endowed by the qualities which make human what it is. Through these ascribed qualities, we are able to quantify it.
So yes- my goddess has a certain way of showing its love. If left entirely to its power, it will beat you down until you have nothing else to live for. Call it a cruel or a mad one, the facts still stand that it knows a way into the heart.
And, that is why we are at the mercy of life.
