So, I'm trying to figure out if I'm in the aro spectrum and I wanted to know if you know about any people/texts that could help me figure it out. I had crushes on girls through my life (not women yet since I'm not interacting much with non-relative females of my age since I graduated from school), when it comes to the first ones I felt too shy to talk about it with them, then I had a crush on a girl for a long time but didn't really want to change my routine by dating, so, even not being shy anymore, I didn't want to deal with that and just kept that to myself and even though I would imagine a nice life with her, felt something for her that I didn't feel with my loved female relatives, I didn't mind when she got a boyfriend and it made me wonder if I truly loved her romantically. Comments from aros and allos would be very appreciated.

When I talked to some people about it and searched about this kind of stuff, the terms grey aro, lithromantic and orchidromantic showed up and were suggested by people, but none felt right to me, because it doesn't feel like I don't fully have the attraction to be the grey (and not feeling that bad when she got a boydriend feels, like, just not overreacting? Like "Oh, I won't be able to see this movie I wanted now... anyway..."), it didn't change my attraction for her when my friend said that he thought that girl liked me too (though it did make me more sure about not telling her about the fact that I liked her but wouldn't date her since she already had self esteem problems) so lithromantic doesn't really click, and when it comes to that orchid romanticism, isn't my case just a choice thing and not a kind of being? Like "I like orange juice" "Do you want some orange juice?" "No, thanks." is how I see my way of feeling.

I know it's a terrible idea to have general media and general society as a primary tool to self-recognition but people and characters just suffer so much when they don't get with the one they love but at the same time I feel too different to be like all the other allos, but not sure if my brain has a whole different configuration to make me not allo. There must be such thing as allo not wanting a romantic relationship they'd like (without psychological problems), right?

I'm answering this here so people who share your experience can leave their thoughts.

Me, personally, I wouldn't know where to lead you lol. At the end of the day, though, the label has only as much meaning as you want it to have so if you think you're aromantic you can be and if not, you're not. Good luck!
