Just entered Voltron officials fanart contest on instagram! Thought I’d dress everyone up real fancy and then add the obligatory subtle Klance.

Trying a new way to do lineart so that was fun to play with 👍

This is embarrassing but I finally figured out what Kudos was on Ao3 today. I thought it was slang or sm I was so confused 😭 anyways I went back and liked all my favourite fics because they deserve all the love. I just finished watching salvage by melonlance and it’s so good.

(I read the whole thing in one sitting. It’s like 123000 words. I was up till 3am. Don’t judge me-)

This was inspired by an ask and it was too funny not to pass up omg. If you need context I’ve talked about it before (sorry idk how to make links to other posts) but Sokka not knowing about his weird kinda not really bending and thinking he’s suddenly become op is so funny to me.

Side note: ty Lee is so fun to draw and I love herrr

1. I wasn’t really obsessed with Kataang either in the show? I just didn’t really ship Aang and Katara with anyone else. But I think I can make them real cute so-

2. Yes they’re in different icebergs! Sokka up north and Katara further down south

5. Sokkas in Tophs place and like Toph, sneaks away to a boxing ring. But unlike canon he’s in the fire nation because the fire and earth nation have swapped, so it’s a bit more a classy thing? Still underground tho, but he dominates! Despite being a “non bender” with a second hand sword

6. Suki! Omg I have ideas for her. So Toph were given maids to look after her in exile, but actually some of these maids were skilled warriors and ordered by the King to kill Toph. But she one them over with her awesomeness and now they’re strictly loyal to her. Unless she orders her to fight the avatar, they’re annoyingly loyal to the avatar. (These warriors are the kyoshi warriors)

They didn’t necessarily switch with anyone? But I dunno I thought Toph and her badass warrior women was a fun visual

So KATARA. Omg I love her design so much. I thought it would be funny to swap her and Aangs crush around because in canon Katara only reciprocates righttttt at the end. So in this there can be more actually reciprocation! Which I like. But yeah the water tribe has always been quite traditional in their roles so Katara was sent to the northern water tribe with Sokka for her training. She was perfectly happy in the southern water tribe! So her and Sokka go to travel back but get swept up in a snow storm!!! And then idk get trapped in ice for a 100 years yay….

But then the last airbender of the southern air temple is arguing with his friend Zuko Lee about bending, and stress and yada yada only for Aang to go all over powered and pull and Elsa and a gush of piercing air slashes open Katara’s iceberg.

(Lee lost an Agni Kai and he and his uncle sought refuge in the southern air temple with the white lotus. )

Anyways the three make their way to the northern air temple where the sisters can teach Katara air bending but as they spend more time away from the temple and out of the expectations of the southern air temple Aang finds his bending improve dramatically (airs the element of freedom)

They get their stuff happens, Zukos girlfriend turns into a star and then they look for someone to teach Katara fire bending only to eventually discover that Lee isn’t a non bender the fuck??

Then they go to the earth kingdom to look for someone to teach Katara Earth bending and they find Sokka kidnapped being kindly looked after by Mais family (they’re in place of Tophs family in this au) when Katara was unfrozen from the iceburg Sokka was too but not being the avatar and being frozen for 100 years has some side effects- like freezing anything you touch. The cold never bothered him anyways. I wouldn’t say Sokkas a water bending because he can only freeze stuff? And not just water, just anything he touches starts icing up- but he do got some bending going on to an extent. But he does NOT realise this, and thinks he can just KO these fire benders with one punch.

They find Sokka, tearful reunion, and they run away leaving Mai and Ty Lee to chase after Sokka and take him back. They knew about his weird bending and want to study him.

While all of this is happening the blind princess of the earth king is supposed to be chilling on her leisurely boat while waiting for someone to take her place as heir but she doesn’t want that and instead trained all her servants up and is on a quest to capture the avatar.

Ok so like me and my friend are making our own Pokemon story in paldea and this is one of my characters Ophelia! I love her smmm. Shes kind like the main rival to the protag.

I’m also redesigning the paldea starters and thought it would make sense to swap their typings around due to their theming so expect more of them. Quaxly fueco is my first victim heehee

I saw someone ask about what daemons the dbda cast would have (from his dark materials) and I thought i’d give my choices:

Charles would definitely be a dog, maybe even a wolf adds on to his thing about being scared of becoming a violent person like his father.

I think an owl would really fit Edwin? It’s symbolic for wisdom and also they look cool visually. I was thinking a crow but with Monty existing I had to vito it.

I think Niko would have a butterfly because in some cultures they are seen as the souls of the living and the dead, believed to be the spirits of the deceased on their journey to the afterlife. They also symbolize joy, longevity, and marital happiness so I thought with foreshadowing and everything it fit Niko really well.

Wanted to go with a witchy daemon for Crystal since she’s a seer but once again cats are the cat kings thing so I decided a bat would be cool. Bats, particularly in European cultures, have long been associated with witchcraft, black magic, and darkness, due to their nocturnal nature and ability to fly.

I think it’d be cool if the night nurse had the same daemon as Kashi, as in they’d both have an angler fish.

Jenny, because it’s ironic as hell, would have a pig as her daemon. They’re also known to very smart pigs so it works out.

Other characters would be very straightforward:

Ester would have a snake, Monty a crow and the cat king a cat.
