Part 5: Great Expectations

Huge thank you to everyone who has stuck with me through this year of no updates. I can't tell you how much it means to see these posts containing to collect notes even though I have been absent from this blog!

I hope everyone enjoyed the next installment. The Thatch panel in the beginning was my absolute favorite lol

"Hey, Usopp! " The boy says with a wide grin, looking at the other who stood a few meters from where the Merry was, "Join my crew! "

"No thanks. "

At that, Luffy immediately deflated and looked at the longnose with a confused tilt of his head, "Why not? " He asks, frowning, but the other just laughs.

"I already belong a crew, so I'm not exactly allowed to join you unless my captain gives the permission to. " The young man says as he casually propped up his weapon on his shoulder, his cloak swaying slightly at the movement.

Luffy frowns, "Tell me this guy's name so I can beat him up and have you instead! " He says determinedly, punching his fists up in the air at his own declaration. Nami gave the boy an amused look as Zoro just snorted, just as so.

Usopp smiles and kicked at a small rock beside his boots, sending it into the waters of the small village's shores— "I don't think you can, though. " He says, looking back at them, "Or anyone for that matter, but I'm sure you can find your own marksman in no time! " He says and waved off Luffy's offer even though the other looked like he was going to have a temper tantrum in mere seconds— giving him a thumbs up as if that would close the conversation off.

"What do you mean I can't beat him!? " Luffy says "I'm gonna be the next Pirate King! I'm sure I can kick his ass somehow! " he then pointed at the latter and ignored Nami's sigh.

Kaya just looked on at the ordeal, too awkward to say anything for the moment.

At his next declaration the sniper just shook his head in dismissal and walked towards the small vessel next to the Merry before tying his musket onto his back.

(sorry I got ahead of myself lol, but if you don't mind this is how I'd imagine their interaction in Syrup Village would go after defeating Kuro)

(I also think that Usopp would use a musket instead of a slingshot, just for the change)

Omg don’t apologize, this was really cute! I always love seeing people getting carried away with things like this!

I do have a VERY vague idea of what happens in syrup village for Kuro shenanigans, it is different than what you have here though, I’m sorry haha. 

Spoiler, Usopp DOES join the Strawhats, but that will likely be the end of the comic/saga tbh, cause I want to focus on Usopp growing and causing trouble with the Whitebeard pirates. Once I get down the few story things I have planned, it’s going to turn into a series of random little non-sequential adventures.

He will cause as many problems on purpose as his little child fingers can!

Is there any fanfiction about this or are all of them just comics? I'd love to read about them more

As far as I know, there isn't fanfiction or anything, but there might be! I debated turning this into a fic but decided a comic would be more fun.

If there is fic out there, I would also love to read it lol!

Small Life Update!

Hi guys! I’m so sorry for the lack of updates over the past month, but as some of you know, I am going through a big house move right now. We’re still in the transition stage where we take possession of the house next week while still living with relatives right now.

I haven’t had a lot of time to focus on the comic just due to everything that’s been going on, but once I get settled and a semblance of my usual routine back, I promise to pick this up again for more Usopp adventures!

I'm sorry I've been lacking in updates recently, life has been busy on my end as well as distracting. I hope this extra long update makes up for the long wait for more usopp content!

On that note, I'm not sure if there will be an update next week as I'm going through a big house move. Please forgive me for that, and your continued support means the world to me!
