Yoga for healthy development!
Kids were involved in yoga this morning before the start of activities. In doing this, they play and connect with their inner self. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. They had lots of fun!
Ping pong blast!
This was a fun activity for kids. They enjoyed the game so much as they took turns. Each kid was determined to make a point. We enjoy playing games with kids since it is a great opportunity to bond with them and set an example of behavior we want them to emulate. We do cheer when someone else has a good roll and say “oh well” when things don’t go the way we want but do give them another chance. Each kid is a success. They have a high degree of self-esteem when they succeed.
Circus hat craft was exciting for kids as they could not wait to try it on after they decorated it. It was a good expression of arts and design.
Keep striving to foster Self- esteem!

Sand Art!
Have you done Sand Art before with kids?
Did you enjoy it?
Kids did something amazingly creative with sand and it looked so grand! It didn’t seem like a ‘by the way’ activity but a big “Wow look at what their hands could do” kids had different shapes drawn on a4 sheets of paper. Glue was put on the paper and the kids went further to put the sand matching the shapes on the paper. They had different colors of sand from which they had to choose from.
Sand Mixing!
Kids had some sand mixing activity as well. Different sorts of colors were poured in. The sand was mixed to the texture which was wanted and they made different shapes using different equipment.
It was a great hand- on fun which works on their attention span, concentration and helps builds perseverance in kids. Activities like this allows them to be creative and use their imagination as they were to use which ever color they like and can think out of the box.
Circus tie craft!
Kids ended up strengthening their fine motor skills by making a circus tie. The tie was cut out of construction paper and kids had to decorate it with colored sheets of papers. It was a beautiful art they made.
Thumps up for our creativity!

Pin the Nose on the Clown!
The day’s activities brought laughter and smiles to our little kids as they played and bagged for the win in the “Pin the Nose on the Clown “race. In this game, obstacles were placed on the way for kids to get the activity done. Those who successfully passed the hula hoop obstacle and pinned the nose first have won the game. It is when children work and play together that they become more competent. As kids get to interact with each other, they get to learn from examples which are being set by the elder ones for them. Behavior modification is an important role for kids to get as they grow up.
Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, physical, cognitive, and emotional strength.
Roar like a lion!
During arts and crafts hour, children were allowed to create a lion’s face using different mediums. The objective is to enhance their imaginative and creative skills as well. This also enhances motor skills.
It was lovey time celebrating with Francesca Mariam! White fields bids you farewell!

To the Carnival!
It was fun beginning the week with some carnival games not forgetting circus the clown. It was a special way kids and teachers began the week at White Fields’ Nursery. An amazing treat to the carnival and variety of fun games made the morning remarkable for the children.
Through these activities children gained language skills and used their imaginations while playing. It was happiness overloaded for kids when they played the “Throw a Ball” game where everyone wanted to win. Prior to this game, each child fell in line to secure a ticket which served as a pass to enter the entire booth and play some exciting games. Sportsmanship was also instilled in the children’s mind at this early age.
Kids had categories of clown costumes which they tried on and took some photos in the circus tenth. This show was fun for the kids as they demonstrated so many different actions.
A circus clown head was artistically created by their little hands using simple materials like art papers as their craft for the day.
The more we get together the happier we are!

Swimming and Splashing into the Water
Pop! Pop! Pop! Little Polly’s!
This fun game is full of big, bright balloons for each child to “pop” while sitting on it. Kids always loved balloons and balloon games. Today little Polly’s enjoy popping balloons outside while preparing to splash into the water.
After the balloon games, they hurriedly jump and splashed into the water. Childhood is the best time to prepare children for a life of safe aquatic participation. These experiences enable each child to increase their own confidence and further develop cognitively, socially and physically. They were all very happy today to spend all the energy on water games and in the things that they like the most.
“Come Play with Me”
Swimming will not be complete without warm up activities. Preparing the children for their water activity, prior to that they did some dance and singing. They also played “Balloon Race” game, a balloon was put in between their legs and run to win the game. Playing this game involve them to take turns, wait for their turn, patience, and learn how to be a good sport. Children gained more experience with both winning and losing.

Skittles Rainbow
Little Polly’s love to start the day with fun activities like singing and dancing where they can express their energy and innate talents. School for them is all about having fun where they can socialize and be more imaginative. Today, they enjoyed the Skittle experiment where they watch with full amazement as the color spread like a rainbow. The little ones made a circle with different skittles on the round plate. The teacher assists them by pouring some water in the center of the circle. They watch as the color spread and for them it’s just like a magic. This activity helps develop the cognitive skills of the young minds. They asked questions, make observation and explore the things around them.
Building Lego’s
Playing Lego is one of the most exciting and favorite activity of the little Polly’s. They are fully occupied with building their own imaginations. This activity promotes the fine motor skills of the children because LEGO bricks come in a vast range of shapes and sizes, which smaller hands need to learn how to assemble and take apart. These small twists and turns of their hands, fingers, and arms promote coordination and dexterity which children needs for handwriting, crafts, and independent dressing. It also develops creativity where they can build anything that ignite their imaginations. Children learn so much more through LEGO play because there is no fear of failure, LEGO creations falls down when you stack them too high, not all our creations quite work out as we planned, but they can always start again.
The possibilities for learning with LEGO are endless!

“My Kind of Ice Cream”
Great fun and adventures never stop at White Fields Nursery. There are no dull moments for every child learners. On our Summer Camp, the excitement intensified as the little Skittles prepared their own ice cream. With only simple ingredients like milk and sugar, our children made an ice cream, placed in a freezer bag and covered with ice and salt for 30 minutes. Children were amazed with this science activity.
Learn problem solving, estimation, measurement, longanimity and successful execution are few importance skills they developed by doing this ice cream exercise!
“Build on What They Talked About”
When everyone’s ice cream is done, they were given a chance to taste their creations. Our children expressed their ideas about the changes they noticed. How do the bags feel? and how it tasted? They have shared their thoughts about what they learned from this activity and how they can add flavors to their creations. Making ice cream with preschooler teaches us about how properties of matter can change.
“Ginger Bread Man Science”
Ask any kid about Ginger Bread Man, their eyes will roll with full enthusiasm. Placing Ginger bread man in milk, oil and vinegar; discovers the changes happening. It’s what make these science activities more interesting. With their keen observations and investigations conclusion, this dissolving gingerbread science activity is great for making predictions and recording results.
“Shake it, Shake it” (Brain Breaks)
In between their activities, little Skittles did some dance movements. Shaking and wiggling their hands and body to increase their brain function. It’s as simple as that. Using physical activities during breaks in the classroom helps children get ready to learn and remember information better. Physical movement increases blood flow, bringing more oxygen to the brain and leads to improve their concentration.

Move to Learn,Play to Grow”
Little Skittles morning is not complete without a body movement activity.Young children can benefit from varied movement activities which may involve stetching, bending, twisting as well as dancing and playing.Memory and movement are linked and the body is the tool of learning.
Equiped with Pom poms and other musical instruments, they started their day with a dance exercise, moved and swayed rhythmically to the music” Listen and Move”.This activity optimized their early brain and motor development .
“Don’t bore them. Keep them engaged”
(Spin -Art-Streamers)
By nature, young children are wiggly and fidgety and have difficulty sustaining attention for long periods of time.Keeping them engaged
is an ice breaking tool to keep them focused. The fun and excitement of spinning challenged the little Skittles .Their creative little hands worked on a spin-art-streamers using water paint, coffee filters and salad spinner. As they reaped the fruit of their creativeness, children appreciated the beauty of their art works.
Before the day ended,an advance presentation of the lesson about dinosaur’s fossils was introduced. Each child was directed to put dinosaur toys in a square container and filled it with water and freeze it overnight. This science activity allowed each child learner to investigate as the conclusion will be presented on the next day.
As a culminating activity, children did some Lego construction which they have integrated into pretend play scenarios. Playing with LEGO provides an understanding of spatial awareness, promotes a sense of creativity, and teaches mathematical concepts of symmetry, shape and geometry.
Children learn so much more through LEGO play because there is no fear of failures.

Watermelon Sculpture
When I think of summer I think of watermelon! The little Pollys make their own creations by using the watermelon and wooden craft sticks. Some enjoyed building towers while the others enjoyed eating the fruit.Watermelon activities involve hands-on learning, sensory exploration, art and fun.The sweet smell along with the beautiful pink and green color makes a watermelon an especially inviting fruit to taste, create, and hold. Along with providing a healthy dose of vitamins A and C, watermelon is the perfect fruit to help your young learner develop his fine motor skills, number sense, and color and shape recognition. Combining nutrition and art is a great way to get your child eating healthy and having fun at the same time.
Watermelon Paper Plates Crafts
Paper plates crafts are great as they can be done by kids of all ages and most of us usually have a spare paper plates in the house all the time. This crafty activity is fun to make and can be used in pretend play, learning about fruits. The kids start coloring the bottom side of paper plates green and the middle part red. Once it dries, they put the seed on the red parts. The little polly’s enjoyed making the watermelon craft today with full excitement.
GROUP: SEATTLES
Mouse Hole Roll!
We cut the flaps off of the top of the box to make it easier to roll a ball through. We cut two “mouse” holes in one side of the box. The kids had a great time trying to roll their golf balls into the holes. Kids were able to breeze through the whole thing, including scoring and the joy that comes after that. Kids learn to take turns and wait patiently. They learn to compromise “okay this time you can have the points, but next time I will.”
Sensory messy play!
Hands-on activities like this provide opportunities for children to compare textures such as smooth, rough, hard and soft while respecting each other’s personal space. Kids felt how soft it was and said it was like ice cream. This also gave them the opportunity for communication and improvement of literate skills.
