N and Appoline !!

Appoline is N and Dardanne's first child !

I've been playing with her design a bit, she still inherits both her parents' hair colors (Pokémon hair design allows so much variety and weirdness I love that), she has N's cowlick and bangs, but Dar's hair-ears and side-bangs ! Her ponytail stays the same, mimicking a zorua tail. She has N's eye color but Dar's eye shape !

She is generally a happy kid who enjoys battle and dreams of becoming the next Unovan champion, to N's dismay... Despite N clearly not having good memories of the Unovan League, he still supports his daughter and her dreams. He wants to give his children the love, the support and the ability to choose their future that he didn't have as a child.

Despite her main pokémon being Tynamo/Eelektross, her favorite pokémon of all time is Ledyba/Ledian !

Early life :

Not much is known from Sibyl's early life, as they were too young to recall most of it. They were born to Ghetsis' sister, making them Ghetsis' nibling (nephew/niece).

Ghetsis' sister lost custody of Sibyl, and so Ghetsis' father became Sibyl's legal guardian. Sibyl's grandfather was apparently a cold, strict, scary man, which is also how Ghetsis remembers his father.

The grandfather passes away when Sibyl is around 3 years old. Ghetsis then becomes Sibyl's legal guardian (to his own dismay).

Sibyl arrives to Ghetsis' home with their absol, Fluff. No one really knows how Sibyl got their absol, and Sibyl was too young to remember properly.

Ghetsis is honestly creeped out by Sibyl. He thinks they are a strange child, and clearly isn't a fan of them. Ghetsis avoids any contact with Sibyl, feeling uncomfortable around them.

However, Ghetsis quickly realizes that Sibyl is able to predict things such as meteorological events and determined events (Such as when a lamp will eventually stop working, when hanging decorations will eventually fall...). Ghetsis decides that Sibyl might be useful after all, and has the child join Plasma.

Plasma time :

Sibyl joins Plasma at 5 years old. They are taught to write, and quickly start their job as seer, now known at the Future Compass.

Sibyl is made to write journals, making logs and entries about every possible future they perceive.

Sibyl has a room of their own, but it is void of personal objects or decorations.

A big problem with Sibyl is that they struggle to perceive time properly, even more so as a young child. They'd talk about things that didn't happen yet as if they already did. They'd mention people they had never met as if they already had conversations. This made Sibyl very creepy to other people, and led to them being quite isolated.

Sibyl is isolated from Concordia, Anthea and N as to not influence them. It's only when Sibyl has been brainwashed enough that they are allowed to interact with the other children. However, the three siblings have already created a very strong bond, and Sibyl is left out.

While Sibyl, Anthea and Concordia are rather cordial, Sibyl and N don't get along. Ghetsis actively creates an atmosphere of competition in-between the children, alongside big power imbalances.

Sibyl gets all of their pokémon, outside of their absol, as a child when working for Plasma. Either their pokémon were given to them by sages, or they managed to steal the pokémon from Plasma in order to save the pokémon from a dark future. Or just because they thought the pokémon was really cute, in Pecha the dedenne's case.

Sibyl's job, describes as Future Compass, is to make entries for every possible future. These journals are then used as data by Ghetsis to orient his and Plasma's actions towards the desired future. Sibyl is made to update their journals everytime they feel the future change, allowing Ghetsis to assess how his actions are impacting the future and how to proceed next to get the desired outcome.

For all their time in Plasma, Sibyl grows up working in the shadows. They learn to handle their power better and become quite good at organizing their journals and entries.

Sibyl often has to deal with visions of desastrous futures. They grow accustomed to it.

Sibyl believes they are a willing participant in Plasma's actions. However, they have been groomed into their role, making them a victim of Ghetsis.

BW1/BW2 time gap :

When Plasma collapses, Sibyl, who is around 18, and is considered too young to integrate the Safe House. They are taken in by child services and live in a Children's Home.

For a few months, Sibyl's life is almost normal, as normal as it can be in an orphanage. They struggle to socialize and don't manage to make friends, but at least they aren't stuck in an underground castle being forced to write entry after entry for hours each days using their power.

This doesn't make Sibyl happy however, as they miss their adoptive father. Being an abusive victim, Sibyl finds themself missing the castle and Ghetsis. Sibyl still writes down entries about the futures, trying to find comfort in things they know.

At some point, Sibyl ends up spotting a rattata. Recognizing Melony's pokémon, Sibyl gets worried and follows the rattata into the wilderness near the Children's Home. They end up being ambushed by Melony, who kidnaps them and brings them back to Ghetsis. Sibyl being able to perceive the future, it's actually likely that they went into the trap knowing what would happen.

Neo Plasma time :

Sibyl knows the song way too well, and they are soon back to writing the different futures and their probabilities of happening.

Sibyl clearly doesn't get along well with Melony, but has the intelligence to never retort or retaliate, knowing that Melony would only get violent in response.

Sibyl is often monitored by a grunt, Beckett, to ensure they are working properly. Despite how much they argue and fight, they create a deep bond.

BW2 goes slightly different. The player character gets to the Plasma Frigate for the second time alongside Hugh using flying type pokémon as the Frigate is heading towards the Giant Chasm.

The player character (my OC Gray in this story!) finds Sibyl within the Plasma Frigate. After freeing Sibyl from their room, Sibyl helps Gray defeat the grunts.

Ghetsis, the Triad and Melony leave the Frigate, taking Kyurem with them, and thus stopping the alimentation of the Frigate in power. Sibyl manages to crash-land the Frigate near the Chasm, but gets hurt in the process.

The now free Sibyl seems to wander and roam around the Frigate and the Chasm until Ghetsis and Neo Plasma are defeated. While they do thank N, Dardanne and Gray for ending Ghetsis' rule of terror, Sibyl seems particularly lost without their adoptive father.

Post BW2 :

For a short time, Interpol tries to get their hands on Sibyl, seeing the potential they have as a tool and a weapon. The Unovan League manages to stop Interpol from using Sibyl.

Like the ex-grunts of the Safe House, Sibyl is taken care of directly by the League, Rood and Alder. Sibyl is assignated to the Safe House at first, but things don't go well and Sibyl can't stand being associated to anything Plasma related anymore.

Sibyl is sent to several places and people in hope they'd fit in somewhere.

They go work at the League directly, usually managing all the small things happening there, the care of the Elite's pokémon, the design of their rooms, etc. While Sibyl decided to work there, the League likes having them close, probably hoping to be able to exploit their power for the greater good.

Future sight and abilities :

The "future sight" actually takes in all the senses. Sibyl is able to experience the future through all their senses, meaning they'll be able to taste or smell food before it's even cooked, feel pain before they get smacked, hear objects falling before they fall, etc.

Sibyl doesn't perceive one future, but a multitude of them. The more chances a future is likely, the clearer Sibyl will perceive it.

Sibyl sometimes still struggles to identify what is the past, what is the present and what are the futures. They might talk about events that didn't happen yet as if they were in the past because Sibyl can quite literally experience these events, making them feel as if they are taking place in the present or even already took place.

While the future sight is very beneficial for any associate, it's a big negative for Sibyl themself. Even as an adult, they struggle to differenciate past, present and futures. The future sight makes it difficult for Sibyl to socialize normally and make friends. In general, it makes life much harder, making focusing difficult.

Fun facts :

Sibyl wad named after the sibyls, prophetesses in Ancient Greece. These oracles were known to be only women.

Sibyl's hair, when they don't wear a hat, go up to replicate Ghetsis' haircut. This seems to be the only physical common trait they share.

Sibyl's journals from their time in Plasma and Neo Plasma were taken to the Nacrene Museum, where they are studied.

Despite their soft appearance and how little they speak, Sibyl has a sharp tongue.

Pokémon Team :

Fluff (Male Absol) is Sibyl's ace. It's unknown how Sibyl even acquired Fluff, they already had him when they joined Ghetsis' household and seemed to hold no memories of how they got him. Fluff was likely a gift from Sibyl's bio parents or grandfather. Fluff is usually grumpy and quick to anger, but shows an immense amount of affection and patience for Sibyl.

Marin (Male Meowstic) was given to Sibyl by Plasma as an espurr, likely in hope that the pokémon would help them control their powers. It didn't work, but Sibyl grew very attached to Marin none the less. Marin is a gentle and sweet pokémon, but quite a great battler.

Squish (Female Gastrodon) was originally a pokémon that had been stolen by Plasma as a shellos. Sibyl managed to plead their way into having the shellos given to them by Rood. Squish's original trainer is unknown, but was likely a tourist from Sinnoh. Squish is friendly and affectionate and enjoys meeting new people.

Pecha (Female Dedenne) was stolen by Plasma. Sibyl being a child, they thought Pecha was very cute. They managed to grab the pokéball, smuggling Pecha back to their room, making her their pokémon. When it was noticed that Sibyl had managed to steal the pokémon, Pecha had already grown attached to Sibyl, and it was decided to let the two be. Pecha is an aggressive little potato, but is very affectionate to the humans she trusts.

Coral (Male Floatzel) seemed to have been a smuggled baby buizel, destined to be given to some grunt. Sibyl had terrible visions about the future of this pokémon, leading them to get their hand on the pokéball, just like Pecha, with the goal to save the buizel from a darker future. When the sages tried to remove Coral from Sibyl's care, the buizel became aggressive, and it was decided to let the two be. Coral is a rather shy pokémon. He is overall friendly and calm, but becomes very aggressive if he feels threatened.

Mandarine (Female Flygon) seemed to have been a smuggled trapinch, destined to be given to some higher-up to strengthen their team. Sibyl bothered the sages for ages to get the trapinch, ignoring that it would later evolve into a dragon type. Rood finally relented and offered the trapinch to Sibyl as a gift (Rood later got yelled at by every other sage for this action). Mandarine was named after the orange color of her trapinch form. Mandarine is distant and stand-offish, usually not liking being petted or touched. She will however allow Sibyl to pet her and baby-talk to her.

Post BW2 Anthea and Concordia ! I find their ending in BW2 to be rather sad... They barely ever exit the Safe House, they stay within the natural hierarchy that has been recreated there, and more importantly, they don't get to develop independently or to be more than "N's caretakers".

I decided to have Anthea become part of the League as a gym leader ! She'd be a steel type specialist, contrasting with her soft appearance.

Concordia becomes a pilot in Mistralton City ! She creates her own team of pokémon to go on adventures with !

They both keep an excellent relationship to each other, but they learn to grow and heal on their own and develop their own hobbies and past-times

So in my story, Tiffany is born sterile. That means because of her biology and chemical makeup, she can't have babies. After her "mother" (the scientist who created her) was told she was hoping to have children, mother decided she'd lend a hand.

With some help from a friend who works in the fertility field, they were able to take one of Tiffany's few eggs and fertilize it with N's sperm. After a thorough examination of Tiffany, she was approved to have the egg inseminated in her womb.

After a careful, painful, and meticulous nine months... Baby Gaia Harmonia was born.

Weirdly enough I really enjoy drawing them doing the most mundane things ever ! They deserve some peace and quiet, they deserve to be carefree and goofy, drawing them being domestic and silly heals my soul

I was curious. How did N propose to Dar?

Honestly I don't think they ever discussed their romantic status in BW1, there are a few reasons for that but that's not the subject of this ask !!

I think the moment N "proposed" to Dardanne was when he offered him the leaf pin ? Dar's leaf pin was a gift from N during their first "date" in Nimbasa City ! It wasn't technically a date, and more so just the two of them trying to have fun at the amusement park while avoiding overstimulation......

The leaf pin is a silly worthless piece of jewelry N won at a stand (After somehow beating the rigged game). It was corny, it was cheesy, but it made them happy. It was N's first attempt at romance, using the little knowledge he had gathered from the books he had been allowed to read. Despite Dar being incredibly dense during social interactions, he managed to pick up on the romantic undertones of the interaction !

I've actually been writing a few fanfictions and this specific scene is a writing project !!!

Seeing that Ghetsis perceives pokémon as weapons, I think he'd be confused as to why Melony loves the rattata line. They aren't exactly amazing battle pokémon (I don't think Ghetsis has studied them enough to know about stuff like FEAR), and Melony only uses Bateau-Mouche in battle.

Mel often enters Bobby Jo and Jimbo James in contests, which Ghetsis struggles to understand the appeal of. Mel will blackmail the jury until they pick his rats as the winners. Anything for his precious rat babies

(I never was a fan of kantonian or alolan raticate's designs, but drawing them made me like them much more ! Also love the concept of alolan raticate being a design that's quite disliked winning beauty contest. You go Bobby Jo)
