I am posting this on this blog because it's dead and nobody will see it. If you somehow do see it, just ignore. Ranting and being a huge bitch about Ted Lasso below the cut:

I need to able to say this unfiltered. I'm tired of having to tone myself down and make sure I'm not saying anything that could offen someone else's opinions about the show. I deserve to be able to say this in the most raw unfiltered way possible, actually.

The season three finale fucking sucked. It was terrible. I completely disagree with the writing choices. I thought it was a really shockingly bad left turn away from all of the characterization and relationship building that had been happening between Ted and Rebecca in the previous seasons.

THE S3 FINALE SUCKED. IT SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!

IT WAS SOOOO BAD. I HATED IT. I HATED IT SO MUCH IT MADE ME FEEL HORRIBLE AND TERRIBLE. IT WAS SO COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY A LET DOWN THAT LEFT A NASTY TASTE IN MY MOUTH ABOUT THE SHOW AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE BETTER IF THAT ENDING JUST DIDN'T EXIST.

And you know what else? I'm not stupid for thinking that!! I'm not less intelligent than all the enlightened viewers out there who just see the nuance and the complexity or whatever the fuck else. YOU FUCKING WROTE THE SHOW TO HAVE THEM BE DOING ALL SORTS OF SOUL MATE SHIT AND THEN MADE TED CRUELLY ABANDON REBECCA, COMPLETELY EMOTIONALLY SHUT HER OUT, FRANKLY ACT LIKE A LITTLE BITCH, AND YOU THINK YOU'RE SO HIGH AND MIGHTY BECAUSE APPARENTLY THAT KIND OF WRITING IS JUST SOOOO NUANCED THAT PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT RIGHT? THAT'S WHAT YOU THINK, RIGHT?

It's so infuriating. It's SOOOOOO infuriating. Doing batshit weird stuff in your writing doesn't make it good just because it's unexpected. And don't fucking get me started on Boat Man because the fact that they even greenlit that whole plot is wild to me because they literally make a joke about Rebecca not knowing if she was sexually assaulted by this random man in his boat or not while she was drunk and passed out the previous night, but oh haha it's actually just fate and they're in love??? like what the hell

But then the worst thing. The actual worst thing is not even anything that the show did itself, but the way that other fans respond to me trying to say anything negative about it. If I try to explain my viewpoint (using much less inflammatory language than this post does) everyone IMMEDIATELY replies and is like noooo no you're wrong!! you just don't see it! you're too simple minded actually to understand this complex nuanced writing!!

Why can't you just let me have my opinion in peace. If you see me say I didn't like S3, and you liked it, just move along. Just don't reply to me. It's actually that fucking easy to just not respond to my message. I don't want to hear why you disagree with me and actually the finale was good for xyz and I'm not understanding xyz because I'm a stupid idiot in your brain for not getting how the most devastating series finale was actually artistic and genius

I don't FUCKING CARE why you thought it was good. I don't want to FUCKING HEAR IT. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. LEAVE ME ALONE AND DON'T REPLY TO ME IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING NICE TO SAY. I am respectful enough of other people's views to simply scroll along and not engage if I see someone talking about enjoying Boat Man or liking the finale. I respect your right to have that opinion and I won't come up to you and start explaining why you're wrong for it. I'll let you be. JUST FUCKING LET ME BE IN RETURN OKAY

it makes me want to scream and cry and explode how people disrespect me and belittle me over this any time I try to bring it up at all, even when I'm being so careful and reasonable in the tone I'm using to talk about it.

it feels so unsafe for me to say anything about what I hope for from S4 or what I didn't like about S3. I will just have people shitting on me and it feel terrible. It makes me feel unwelcome and disliked. So I'll put up my defensive walls and make sure nobody can hurt me about this. I won't talk to anyone about it. Leave me the fuck alone.
