The days still grew cold as winter was slowly turning into spring, the wind would howl in his ears and his cheeks would turn numb from exposure while he protrolled with Endeavor, Shoto, and Deku. Bakugou shivered as ducked his face into the high collar of his hero costume, attempting to block the direct hit from the bitter chill as he propelled himself through the air with his explosions.
Endeavor suddenly landed onto a high building roof while he surveyed the area around him, the three interns quickly caught up and each landed onto the roof with heavy feet. Silence filled the air as their eyes darted rapidly trying to find the next emergency they would rush off to before Endeavor could.
"You three still can't beat me to the scene. Heh." He scoffed as he glanced over his shoulder at them.
Katsuki's anger bubbled over, ears red and numb from the wind blowing around them. His crimson eyes flared with the frustration that was running through his veins.
" I HATE THE WINTER! IF IT WASN'T FOR THIS GODDAMN COLD I WOULD BE OUT TIMING YOU IN SPEED OLD MAN!"
Shoto and Deku watched as Bakugou continued to let out the built up frustration he had been compressing the last few days. Endeavor sighed at the sight, his demeanor grew more intimidating as he waited for the ashy blonde to finish his unsightly temper tantrum.
Were these boys really Shoto's friends?
Bakugou heaved, angrily breathing in air while he calmed down, his clenched jaw relaxing as silence surrounded them. Endeavor clicked his tongue in annoyance, turning his back on him once more to look at the people below.
"Are you done with that childish rant? I've already told you don't make cold weather an excuse for you falling short. Figure out a way to get stronger."
Bakugou scoffed but stayed silent as he listened to the number one hero. The three boys watched him with intent analyzing his actions and the city that surrounded them, before Endeavor's stern voice cut through the air once more.
"You have been tasked with defeating a villain faster than I can, of course I'm not going to make it easy for you otherwise you wouldn't learn anything."
Determination rose in the boys at the words, the fire under their drive to beat him being furiously relit. Endeavor jumped off the side of the building propelling himself towards the next crisis, the interns eagerly running and throwing themselves into the air after him. Bakugou was right behind his mentor, nearly at his heels as the corner of his mouth quirked up a wide smirk forming. His palms crackled loudly, bursting more explosions from his hands in order to close the gap between him and the number one hero ahead of him. He felt the heat rise throughout his body as his hands simmered under the gloves, finally warming him up in the cold as he raced towards the target.
I'm almost there, just have to push a little bit more.
A dim light fading out in a passing alleyway caught the corner of his eyes, He squinted while he glanced at Endeavor who was still heading fast towards the original crime scene. Bakugou's thoughts gnawed on him as he tried to ignore the light he had seen, but something was telling him he needed to turn around and investigate. He tried to fight the urge, he was so close to victory and finally fulfilling the task he had been given at the start of their internship.
He glowered at himself as he slowed his pace and turned back towards the alleyway, Shoto and Deku exchanged a wide eyed expression as they called out to him briefly, stopping in confusion at his actions.
"Bakugou! Where are you going?!"
Bakugou didn't stop to answer their calls, nor did he spare them another glance as he made his way towards the now faded light. Shoto and Deku worried on who to follow before ultimately deciding to trust him with what he was doing while they continued to follow Endeavor.
His expression dulled as the alleyway came back into view, he surveyed the area as his feet landed loudly on the concrete. He kept his guard up as he took in his surroundings, the alleyway seemed deserted but he wasn't going to take a chance at being unprepared for an attack. His pupils flared and eyebrows furrowed as he heard movement from further down, a scowl returned to his features as voice rang out echoing off the walls loudly.
"HEY BASTARD! GET THE HELL OUT HERE BEFORE I DRAG YOU OUT, YOU GODDAMN COWARD!" Bakugou demanded.
He heard feet shuffling from the side of the dumpster a few feet away from him, His hands crackled in anticipation as he readied himself for a fight.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" He cursed, his lips drew back in snarl as he took in the figure in front of him.
A six year old boy stood there in shorts and a short sleeve shirt, his thoughts raced through protocols on missing children as he leered down at the kid.
"Damn! What's your name kid?" He asked, his tone going softer as the rush of adrenaline dwindled down.
The boy kept his face lowered towards the ground, ashy blonde hair covering his eyes as his body visibly shivered from the cold. Annoyance rose within him as he waited for the kid to answer, clicking his tongue when it was obvious he wasn't going to receive one.
"Hey, you don't know how to talk or something?! If you want help, answer otherwise stop wasting my time and leave." A vein popped out of his neck as he spat harshly.
Another breeze blew through the alleyway causing the boy to shudder and wrap his arms around his torso. His face looked up suddenly, eyes still closed with the faintest sign of tear streaks running down his cheeks, his eyebrows furrowed tensely as he shouted out.
"KATSURO BAKUGOU! YOU ASSHOLE!"
Katsuki's body tensed, the color drained out of his face as the name echoed into his ears. His hands clenched, nails digging into his palms hard enough to rip through his gloves. His mind reeled at the information, crimson eyes darted quickly over the boy's physical features and appearance.
Could it be a coincidence? Was Bakugou a common last name and what about how he looks... he's practically...?
"Why are you silent after yelling so much you jerk?! Are you even a real hero?! My daddy said 'extras' like you should all go to hell!" The boy ranted angrily, finally opening his eyes to meet the hero standing in front of him.
Recognition dawned on the tiny face as bright e/c eyes started deeply into his crimson ones. His mouth hung wide open before he quickly slammed it shut and his awe was turned to anger, his tiny fist clenched at his sides as he snarled up at Katsuki.
"Daddy! Why are you playing such a dirty prank?! Wandering off this time wasn't even my fault, so stop being a jerk. "
"HUH?"
Katsuki's mind froze the moment the boy addressed him as daddy, his whole body went cold as he tried to process the information.
"This isn't funny anymore! Let's go home!"
"Kid, I don't know what's going but I'm for sure not-" Katsuki paused upon seeing the look of fear in the child's eyes as he willed himself to push back the unshed tears.
God damnit! I can't just leave him here on the street.
He kneeled down and quickly grabbed the boy and easily threw him over his shoulder. The boy let out a shocked gasp and Katsuki started walking down the alleyway towards the street.
"What are you doing?" Katsuro asked while he looked around his surroundings.
"Taking you somewhere warm."
"Took you long enough."
"Shut Up Runt!"
"You shut up Old Man!"
"HEH!" Katsuki scoffed, growing annoyed at the boy over his shoulder.
An idea swept through his mind briefly before moved his grip towards the boy's ankles and dragged him off his shoulder to instead leave him dangling in the air. The child gasped in shock from the sudden movement as his head was now dangling above the concrete.
"I dare you to say it again." Katsuki sneered, taking pleasure in the brief look of fear that flickered over the boy's features.
The boy twisted around to where he was facing Bakugou before lifting his palms in frustration. Bright explosions crackled and popped in the six years old hands as he swung towards the man holding him, one small explosion managing to actually hit him. However, due to the low impact power, it didn't do anything to him other than cause him to pause at the realization that the boy had the same quirk, no had his quirk.
The civilians that walked around them gawked and gossiped in shock at the abrasive way he was handling the child, he huffed out in annoyance before readjusting his grip on the kid and holding him properly in his arms.
"I don't need you to carry me! I can walk on my own!" He huffed, puffing out his cheeks in frustration at being carried like a child.
"You'll slow me down."
"Heh! You're the one who is slow, asswipe."
Bakugou's steps paused for a moment as his eye twitched in anger, before he compressed the feeling down.
I've never wanted to beat up a child more than I do right now.
Katsuro continuously glanced at Bakugou throughout the walk, taking in the features that were so similar and yet so different from his father at the same time. His mind buzzed while it searched for an explanation in the hero's features.
"What?!" Bakugou sneered, noticing the boy looking at him carefully with furrowed brows.
"Did you get hit by a quirk? Why do you look like your high school yearbook picture?"
Bakugou remained silent to the child's question, his eyebrows furrowed as he pieced together information. This kid was to similar too him, looked too much like him to not be related by blood. The quirk alone convinced him of that fact as if the spiked ashy blonde hair and facial features wasn't enough. This was his child from the future, and for an unknown reason he had shown up in the past. He had gotten lucky to briefly notice the light in the alleyway and find the child, it had his thoughts going on haywire.
If someone had known I was going to be there, it would make sense why I was able to find him rather than someone else.
The thoughts did nothing to settle his restless state of mind, it only caused him to become more anxious and in need of answers.
The silence that remained between the two seemed to answer Katsuro's question even though Bakugou hadn't verbally replied. He turned his head away, sadness clouded his features as he pieced together the information he had and the moments leading up to appearing in the alleyway.
"I'm in the past, aren't I?"
"Yeah." He mumbled back.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Bakugou saw Endeavor and the others in the distance, he used his quirk to propel him into the air, closing the gap quickly between them all while the boy excitedly laughed as the wind blew through his hair. The number one hero eyed the boy with a suspicious gaze before placing a stern pointed glare at his intern.
"You disappeared." He noted flatly.
"Keh! I saw something you missed, an abandoned kid in an alleyway. So much for being able to notice everything even before it happens huh?" The explosive blonde mocked.
"And you didn't feel the need to report your whereabouts to anyone?"
"Would have taken too long. What's the problem? I'm here now aren't I?"
Endeavor sighed deeply while closing his eyes in frustration, already growing tired of the conversation. When his eyes reopened he focused them on the ashy blonde boy who had climbed out of Bakugou's arms and jumped onto the concrete beside him. The resemblance between the two was shocking, if it weren't for the e/c eyes the boy would have been a miniature clone of Bakugou and the thought alone was unsettling for the number one hero.
"Who is the kid?"
Bakugou tensed slightly before quickly regaining composure, however the slight slip didn't go unnoticed by Endeavour. He let out a harsh breath and rubbed the back of his neck anxiously, preparing himself as well as the rest of the group for his next words.
"This is my son-"
"YOU HAVE A CHILD!? IN HIGH SCHOOL!? HOW IRRESPONSIBLE! SHOTO I DON'T CONDONE YOU BEING FRIENDS WITH THIS DELINQUENT!" Endeavor raged, interrupting Bakugou.
"SHUT UP!" Bakugou continued.
"This is my son from the future."
Crimson eyes meet turquoise as Bakugou and Endeavor glared at each other in a silent battle, sharp gasps filled the air at the reveal as Shoto and Deku processed the information.
"Convenient."
"Whatever Old Man, like I need to explain anything to you."
Katsuro had observed the interaction's in amusement, a bright smirk formed on his lips as he laughed happily. Deku had managed to regain his composure from the sudden shock of his childhood friend suddenly appearing with a future child and had made his way over to Katsuro, a gentle smile on his lips as he kneeled down to the boy's height and waved in greeting.
"Hello! I'm Izuku Midoryia, but you can call me Deku. What's your name?"
"Katsuro Bakugou! Are you really Deku?" He questioned.
"Yes, is there something wrong?" Deku anxiously replied.
"The Deku in the future is way cooler."
"Wha-" Deku stuttered before being interrupted.
"Heh?" Bakugou scoffed, instantly irritated at the boy's words.
"Deku? Cool?"
"Deku is the greatest! Unlike you Mr. Number Two! No matter how much trouble he's in, he's always the winner and that's why he's my favorite hero. I'm going to be just like him when I grow up and become the number one hero myself!" Katsuro said confidently.
Bakugou's eyebrow twitched, crimson eyes flashed with anger as he glared at the green haired boy still kneeled on the ground. Miniature explosion's crackled in his palms as he clenched his hands, nails digging into his palms once more while his breath quickened.
Wide green eyes glanced up to see the fuming blonde at his side, he nervously backed away from him while he tried to form words but all that came out of his mouth were anxious stammers and incomplete sentences. The blonde lunged at him suddenly, explosion's bursting from his palms that he aimed for Deku's face while he narrowly dodged the attack, the hit grazed his face causing his mask to rip. Endeavor reacted quickly, restraining the explosive blonde and barking out orders that the team is returning back to headquarters for the day.
Katsuro walked beside Endeavor towards the car that was awaiting them, his arms animated as he punched the air while talking about old fight's he had seen of the current number one hero. Bakugou grumbled as he walked beside Shoto and Deku, he lowered his gaze towards the ground in annoyance as his feet continued to harshly stomp the concrete beneath him.
"You know his e/c eyes remind me of someone."
Shoto's sudden voice broke him out of his thoughts, he glanced over at the boy with a glare as he took in the thoughtful expression on his face and furrowed eyebrows.
"Like I care Icy-hot. Deku! Don't think you're better than me just because of what he said, that's still years away and I can change it. I won't lose to you!"
"Okay Kacchan, I won't lose to you either!" Deku Agreed with a smile before continuing "You know, Katsuro is so much like you."
"No shit, he's my kid. We are practically identical."
"I'm not just talking about his looks. What he said about me, well no what he said about the number one hero and why he's the best. It's almost exactly what you said when we were kids, I see a lot of your drive and confidence in him." He said, awe taking over his features as he spoke.
Bakugou remained quiet for a moment as they walked in silence, his spiky hair covering his expression as he continued to look away from the two boys. His neck burned slightly from the rising heat coursing through his body while the tips of his ears turned a slight shade of pink.
"Shut up and die." He barked out with annoyance.
"Hopefully he doesn't take after Bakugou when it comes to his attitude." Shoto added with a playful smirk formed on his lips.
Laughter filled the air around them as the boys went back and forth with remarks and lightheartedly mocking each other. The tension from earlier had finally dissipated from the group as they descended into the car.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The agency was a safe haven compared to the bitter winter that still raged on outside. The heat instantly warmed up the group as they stepped inside, Katsuro's shivers halted as he began to relax in the cozy heat of the building.
"I can't believe you let your son stay out in the cold for so long without a jacket." Shoto chastised.
"I'm not the one who dressed him dumbass!"
"Still, you couldn't give him your own?"
"Stop telling me what to do!"
Bakugou's eyes found the ashy blonde hair of his son who was happily running around the lounge area. A few sidekicks would share a glance as their eyes darted between the similarities of him and Katsuro, which he would return with heated glare at the noisy employees.
The other sidekicks happily welcomed the child with no questions asked, greeting him with waves and doting on the boy as he introduced himself as the next number one hero confidently. Every so often when he wanted more attention drawn to him, he would show off his quirk and crackle the mini explosions in his palms for the viewer's around him.
"Woah! What a great quirk!"
"You're right! You will definitely be the next number one hero with a quirk like that."
"How flashy!"
Bakugou raked his fingers through his hair as he watched his son be praised for his quirk and the smile that was plastered happily on his face. His thoughts flew back to when he had manifested his quirk and had received just as many compliments that raised his ego growing up.
My mom always said when I had kids they would dish out to me twice as much as I did to her....
....I just wasn't expecting to suffer the consequences so soon.
"Katsuro, why are you wearing summer clothes in the winter?" Deku questioned.
"It was summer before I came here."
Endeavor glanced at the boy, thoughts raced through his mind as his eyes darted towards Bakugou taking in the furrowed eyebrows and his clenched fists from across the room. He shook tiredly before his voice echoed throughout the room as he spoke, the conversations around him stopping instantly.
"I think it's time we understand exactly what's going on here."
Silence filled the air as the tension rose in the room, Endeavor stiffly sat on the couch as he motioned for Katsuro to sit on the couch across from him. Bakugou saw the hesitation that flickered in the boy's eyes and quickly scoped him into his arms before playing him on the couch and taking the empty seat next to him.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
He stroked his beard in thought as the boy continued sharing his memory of the morning before arriving in the alleyway, listening to every detail and examining it.
Bakugou raked his fingers through his hair as he processed the information eagerly being told by his future son. His eyes glanced tentatively toward Katsuro who had risen from his seat in excitement as he talked about his family members' quirks as well as his own.
"Aunt Chihiro was babysitting me since both my parents had to go out to face villains!" He said animatedly "My cousin Suzume and I were playing near the house, there is a big tree that is like a bridge over a small river. Her foot slipped, I went to reach for her but when I did a bright light shot out at me."
"How old is your cousin?" Endeavor asked deep in thought.
"She just turned five a few months ago."
"Hmm."
Shoto stepped closer as he let out a harsh breath, his eyes briefly made contact with Bakugou before glancing over towards Endeavor.
"It sounds like her quirk activated out of fear, but still a time travel quirk and it was her first time using it...There's not a lot of information to go on regarding when he will go back."
Bakugou rubbed his forehead in frustration at Shoto's words, he had already pieced together that information and to have him repeat it out loud irked him. His crimson eyes glanced down towards the boy now sitting beside him again, he didn't look worried or scared about the possibility of staying here for an unknown amount of time which eased the weight Bakugou felt on his chest.
"Time travel quirks are extremely rare though, only a handful have been reported over generations." Deku rambled.
"It's not unheard of though, Katsuro, does your other parent have a time manipulation quirk?" Endeavor questioned.
"No, but my aunt's quirk allows her to stop or speed up time around her."
"So the kid's quirk mutated to a time travel quirk." Bakugou stated, his voice rumbling.
Since the quirk was a mutation and didn't work exactly how the mother's quirk worked, he knew that it would be harder for them to figure out how exactly the quirk worked or if the kid needed to use the quirk again to bring him back it would be unknown when he would go back home. His mind raced at the thought of having his future son with him for days, months even. Anxiety prickled up the back of his neck as he thought about being a decent father.
"It's rather lucky he ended up here and not somewhere random." Endeavor mentioned briefly while glancing at the clock on the wall.
"You're right! It must have to do with the quirk, maybe there's a limit to how far back a person can be sent? Or it will bring the person close to someone blood related to them?" Deku started to ramble.
"Well-" Katsuro started before all eyes darted towards him causing him to stop.
"Keep going kid." Bakugou encouraged while lightly ruffling his hair with his palm.
"Suzume was talking about old year books she saw of my parents before she slipped, so I think since she was thinking of that time is why I got sent here."
"Bakugou your kid is smart." Shoto said with a monotone voice.
"Of course he is, asshole, he's my son."
"I would have figured he got that aspect from your partner."
Bakugou grumbled angrily as Endeavor raised his hand, stopping the bickering from continuing. Turquoise eyes sternly trained on him as he waited in silence to fill the room again before speaking.
"I believe until he goes back home, the safest place for him to be is with you."
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The U.A. Class 1-A dormitory stood tall before them, the winter chill starting to bite at Bakugou's bare arms. His mind wandered from the upcoming events of seeing his noisy classmates to his son and his eyes peered over at Katsuro, who was taking in the sight of the campus. The large blazer drenched over his small body in a feeble effort to fight off the cold.
Endeavor had called the school and made the principal as well as Aizawa aware of the situation, giving him as much information as they had gathered from the young boy. When the work study students had reached the front gate, they were met by the tired eyes of the eraser hero.
Shoto and Deku had followed their homeroom teacher into the dormitory willingly while Bakugou slowed his footsteps to a sudden stop. He knew that the reaction he would receive walking in with his son, and was hit with a sudden sense of dread at having to deal with his annoying classmates.
Aizawa's head peaked out from the door of the building, his eyes surveyed the area until they landed on Bakugou and Katsuro's figure. He sighed tiredly before calling out to the two still standing out in the cold.
"Come in, I already explained to your classmates briefly about Katsuro's appearance and stay in the dorms."
Bakugou caught his son's attention as he started to walk towards the building, his feet crunching along the cold grass as he did. Katsuro raced after his father, syncing his footsteps into pace with him as he got closer.
The warmth of the dormitory instantly kicked the chill that had rested over this skin, his crimson eyes quickly surveyed the lounge area as he observed his classmates' facial expressions to see his mini double.
"I heard you have a kid! Where is the cutie?!" Mina mused excitedly as she jumped to her feet.
He jerked his thumb toward the small boy standing behind him, his eyes narrowed as he watched Mina bounce on her toes as she peered behind his figure.
"OMG!" She exclaimed.
"WHAT?!" Kirishima asked, surprised at her sudden outburst upon seeing the kid.
Mina launched herself towards the boy engulfing his small body in a hug as Bakugou sighed and moved out of the way, his feet led him to a resting point and he leaned against the wall.
"HE'S SO CUTE!" Mina sang.
The class gasped at the sight of the six year old boy wrapped Mina's arms, their eyes darted quickly from Bakugou to Katsuro as they took in the obvious similarities the two of them shared in appearance. The ashy blonde hair that seemed to spike in different directions, even though his son's was slightly less spiky compared to his. His lips set in a frown and sharp furrowed eyebrows matched the same expression he was wearing, and the shape of his eyes and nose were a perfect replica of his own.
Katsuro's forehead creased heavily as the arms continued to stay wrapped around him, his e/c eyes burned with frustration and annoyance at the girl beside him.
"Hey, Hag! Will you let go of me now?!" He barked, out causing the room to still in silence.
Mina's body tensed at the insult thrown at her direction, an evident line appeared between her brows as she clenched her jaw.
Bakugou couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips at his son's words. His mouth twisted upward into a smile as he quickly placed a hand over his mouth to hide his obvious amusement from the girl's chilly glare.
The student's had jerked their heads in the direction of Bakugou's laugh that broke the tense atmosphere from moments before. Mina let go of the boy and whirled towards Ochaco with a wilted expression seeking comfort.
"I can't believe he just called me a hag!" She wailed.
Krishima's red eyes wandered to Bakugou's as he sent him a questioning look at the events that just took place. The blonde lifted his shoulders in a half shrug, lowering his hand to show the blatant amused smile playing on his lips.
"Hey kid, I'm Kirishima. What's your name?" Kirishima greeted with a wave and a bright smile.
"My name is Katsuro. I already know who you are! Uncle shitty hair!" He beamed.
Another laugh escaped Bakugou as Kirishima's expression faltered slightly. The red haired boy released a harsh breath while massaging the back of his neck with his hand.
"Glad to know your nicknames live on even in the future." He remarked as he grinned towards his friend.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Katsuro sat merrily on Kirishima's firm shoulders as he led him around the lounge to meet all the students. Bakugou watched from his spot, still leaned against the wall with crossed arms as he took in the slight dimples the boy expressed when he smiled.
His mind wandered as he thought about the few characteristics he didn't share with his son. Even though Katsuro was practically a mini clone of himself, the bright e/c eyes were a stark difference in the two. He watched the boy happily from afar as he ordered Kirishima around the room as curiosity washed over him.
"Woah! Our Bakugou is now a teenage dad, how unexpected!" Kaminari teased as he drew closer to him.
"Woah! You haven't melted your brain today, sparkplug." Bakugou mocked back.
"Ugh! Come on, you have to admit it's funny. Out of everyone here I would rank you lower on the list for the chances of being a teen parent."
Bakugou raised an eyebrow at him as Sero and Mineta wandered over to join the group.
"How so?" Bakugou questioned as he jammed his hands in his front pockets.
"Well, your attitude is so bad that it would be hard to find someone who can put up with it."
"Yeah, outside of this class you don't have any friends." Mineta added in agreement.
"Whoever it is, they must be a saint!"
Sero's eyebrows furrowed in thought for a moment. "I don't think that's true, at least not anymore. Bakugou's competitive for sure and has an attitude, but he always treats his friends good!"
Bakugou's eyes widened slightly at his words before quickly hiding his shocked expression. The others seemed to nod in agreement to Sero's words, thinking back to all the times Bakugou has shown his good side.
"This is making me more curious about who the other parent could be. Do you think they go to U.A.?" Kaminari pondered.
"They obviously aren't in this class, he hasn't acknowledged anyone else as his parent besides Bakugou." Mineta chimed in.
"Ah! I Know!" Kaminari exclaimed, eyes darting towards Kirishima.
Kirishima stood beside Mina, Ochaco, Jiro and Ida as they observed Katsuro demonstrate his quirk in front of them. His palms cracked loudly like firecrackers as sparks popped brightly in the air, a rather big explosion from the six year old's hands made Ida jump back slightly.
"Your quirk is so strong for your age!" Ochaco praised.
"Don't inflate his ego more than it already is, this punk gets praised too much as it is." Bakugou called out from his place across the room, slowly making his way towards his son.
Katsuro blew out his cheeks in annoyance at his father's sudden instructions. He clenched his hands into fists at his sides as he glared up at Bakugou, flaring his e/c eyes.
"You jealous?! EXTRA!" Katsuro fumed.
The sudden silence that followed his remark was broken by the laughter that filled the room as the students beamed happily around them.
"Like father, like son." Sero laughed.
"HE'S JUST LIKE HIM!" Jiro voiced, another fit of laughter escaping her lips.
"It's really a mini Bakugou! He acts exactly like you!" Momo Remarked.
"How does it feel to face off against a younger version of you?" Ayoama teased.
"DIE!" Bakugou roared at his classmates, his nostrils flaring as he sent heated glares around the room.
"Bakugou! That isn't appropriate to say in front of a child!" Ida scolded.
Katsuro whirled around to face the engine hero, still heated from his father's remark from earlier.
"Shut it four eyes!"
"Uh! H-How rude!"
Bakugou annoyance simmered down at the sight of his son insulting the class rep. He let out a sharp breath as he relaxed his shoulders, his mouth twitched ever so slightly into a smirk.
The conversation moved forward as the riotous class settled down, Kaminari approached Kirishima mumbling to him as he gestured towards Bakugou and Katsuro. The red head's face lit up as he raced off to his dorm room, returning a few moments later with a book in his hand.
Kirishima placed the book on the table, opening it to the first page filled with pictures. He gestured for Katsuro to come over and when the little boy padded his feet over to him , he generously picked him up and placed him in the chair.
"What are you up to?" Bakugou questioned catching the attention of his other classmates as they pieced together the situation.
"Amajiki gave me an early edition of this year's yearbook, maybe Katsuro will recognize his other parent in here."
Katsuro flips through the pages, his eyes darted over the portraits of the current student of U.A before his eyebrows become furrowed as he gets to the end of the book.
"I don't see them here..." He mumbled
Bakugou absentmindedly placed his hand on Katsuro's bowed head, waiting a moment for the boy's e/c eyes to turn up towards him before lightly ruffling his hair with his fingers. Katsuro gazed up at him in awe before shaking his head in a feeble attempt at fixing his messed up hair. The soft gaze that greeted him when he glanced back at his father shocked him, it reminded him of how his father would look at him back home in the future and that thought comforted him.
"I'm hungry!" Katsuro stated, changing the subject, a rumble emitting from his stomach as he did.
"Who's in charge of making dinner tonight?" Bakugou questioned Kirishima.
"Pretty sure it's you and Momo."
"Huh? Me? Again?" He gritted his teeth, annoyed.
"What can I say, everyone loves your cooking!"
Bakugou sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, his eyes glanced back at his son who was watching him from his seat at the table.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Mapo Tofu!" The boy exclaimed happily, jumping down from his seat.
The corner's of his mouth turned up into a smile, a sudden jolt of happiness rushed through his body as he took in the bright smile on his son's face.
Of course, he and his son would have the same favorite food.
"Come on, you're helping." Bakugou said as he extended a hand toward his son.
Tiny fingers firmly wrapped around his hand, the two walked towards the kitchen hand in hand. The smiles on each of their faces was seen by their classmates, no one dared to ruin the bonding moment with their mocking.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
(The next few scenes are small occurrences that took place over the week.)
The next few days went by in a blur, Bakugou had quickly gotten used to being a father which had shocked his classmates. Their shock continued when they noticed how good of a father he was at that, the explosive blonde made it seem almost effortless when the two weren't taunting each other.
After seeing the two wholesomely cook dinner together, the class had decided they wanted to keep witnessing the cute bonding moments between the two. Due to that, anyone who was scheduled to prepare dinner the following days would purposely make mistakes so that Bakugou would get annoyed and take over the cooking himself.
"Is everyone here stupid?! Why can't any of you cook?! I should let you all starve!" Bakugou grumbled as he tossed the charred food from the pan into the trash.
He let out a harsh breath as he rolled up his sleeves.
"Move it, ears!" He gestured for Jiro to leave the kitchen, missing the smile that formed when she turned away from him.
"Katsuro! Come help me cook, you are more talented than anyone else here."
The small boy bolted jumped from his seat beside Deku, the movie he was watching being paused quickly before he bolted towards his father's voice. His feet pattered against the wood floors as he excitedly made his way to the kitchen.
The classmate's watched in awe at the soft gaze that overtook Bakugou's face when Katsuro entered the room. Happily observing as the two prepared dinner together, Bakugou assigned his son to wash the vegetables he placed in a bowl before handing them to him.
"We defiently need to keep doing this! Not only do we get to see him being nice, but we get good food." Kaminari whispered towards Jiro.
She nodded her head in agreement as they carefully stole glances at the father son duo in the kitchen.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Bakugou watched Katsuro's face light up with excitement as he watched All Might appear on the screen of his computer. Bright e/c eyes observed in wonder as the retired number one hero saved the day once again in the old clip.
"You know, Deku and I had to fight him in order to pass our final exam."
"What?! No way?! Did you lose?"
"HAH! As if your father would lose!"
Katsuro's laughter rang in his ears as he looked down at the kid sitting in his lap, a lopsided grin formed on his lips at the sight. His eyes wandered to the boy's shoulder where a piece of lint had caught his gaze.
"Well, he almost killed us. I'm pretty sure he broke some bones in Deku's spine during that fight." He picked the piece of lint from his shoulder as he continued.
"Even with quirk restrictors on, he had managed to destroy a whole city street with one punch." He absentmindedly rattled on as he remembered that day.
"That sounds..." Katsuro trailed off.
"Intense?, Cool?"
"Scary..."
"Yeah, it was. Good thing he was the symbol of peace right?"
"Right!"
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Bakugou watched with tired eyes as Katsuro played another round of Uno with Tsukuyomi in the lounge. The sky had turned dark and Bakugou had already gotten himself and his son ready for bed, all that was left was getting his hyperactive kid into his dorm. He yawned as he rubbed his eyes, his body starting to feel heavy and in desperate need of sleep.
"I win." Tsukuyomi stated calmly.
Katsuro grumbled with frustration as he stacked the cards for another round to begin, Bakugou quickly called out to his son to stop him from starting another match.
"It's time for bed, let's go!"
"But it's only 9 pm!"
"What's your point?" He raised an eyebrow at the kid's frustrated expression.
"Can't you let me stay up to play some more?!"
"Revelry in the dark." Tsukuyomi chimed in suddenly.
"Revelry in the dark!" Katsuro cheered happily repeating his words.
Bakougou swooped the boy into his arms, his eyebrows furrowed angrily as he glared at his bird-like classmate.
"Don't teach him that shit!" He barked.
He angrily stomped to his room with Katsuro thrown over his shoulder.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Kirishima and Deku tried to control their whispered voices as they glanced back at the couch in the lounge. They both had been the first ones to wake up that morning and when they came down stairs from their dorm's they were surprised at the sight that greeted them.
Bakugou was sleeping soundly on his back, Katsuro just as peacefully sleeping with his head on his father's chest. A remote lightly gripped in one of Bakugou's hands while the once was placed protectively over the small figure laying on top of him.
Kirishima and Deku shared a glance as they each pulled out their phones, eagerly taking a photo of the two sleeping peacefully on the couch together.
Deku's camera had let out a loud shutter noise as he took the photo, instantly grimacing at the fact he forgot to mute his phone's noise effects.
The noise had made Bakugou's eyebrows furrow as he blinked his eyes open, trying to adjust to the bright light in the room. His eyes surveyed the lounge, settling on Kirishima and Deku with their phones still pulled up and pointed in his direction making his eyes widen slightly.
"RUN!" Kirishima blurted before running down the hallway.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The day's had passed quickly and it was time for the work study students to return to their agencies. The winter chill had stalled as the weather was warmer and not as frigid as the previous weeks. Bakugou was excited to go patrolling, confident that with the warmer weather that he would beat Endeavor to the crime scenes.
However, when they arrived at the agency he had stated they would be using the training room while he went out on his own, causing Bakugou to grumble in frustration.
"He's doing this on purpose! He knows I'll beat him today, that bastard!"
Shoto stopped training suddenly from across the room to stare at him blankly.
"I believe the more likely reason is that you have a six year old with you who can't go on patrol."
Bakugou grunted angrily under his breath as he made his way from the training machines to the weights where Katsuro sat watching Deku train eagerly.
"Deku! Do something cool!" Katsuro cheered.
"HEH! What's so good about him?" Bakugou mocked, while he cocked head up.
"What? are you jealous number 2?" He taunted slyly, his e/c eyes twinkling with mischief.
Bakugou's eyebrow twitched at the mocking attitude thrown his way, his nostrils flared as his hands tightened into fists at his sides. He jerked his head in the direction of the dark green haired boy who was lifting weights.
"Deku - get over here - before I kill you." Bakugou gritted out between clenched teeth.
The hand weights were placed on the ground gently, careful not to drop them under Bakugou's rage-filled glare. He swiftly made his way over to the father/son duo, a nervous smile formed on his lips as he drew in closer to the two.
"Was there something you needed kacchan?" He questioned, swallowing the lump in his throat.
Bakugou's mouth twitched as he cackled at his nervous behavior.
"Katsuro here was just telling me how great you were and said he wanted you to show him something cool." He jeered.
"O-Oh, well thank you Katsuro. I don't think I have anything amazing to show you though." He placed his hand on his chin while he hummed in thought. "Hm, I have been working on black whip. Would you like to see?"
"YES!" He beamed with excitement.
The corners of Bakugou's mouth quirked up in amusement as he watched Deku prepare himself, knowing full well what was about to happen would disappoint his son. He leaned against the wall as he waited for the show to begin, crossing his arms over his chest comfortably.
A black mist formed slightly on Deku's palms, it slowly shaped itself into a line inched its way outward making it about an inch further than the day he performed it in front of Mt. Lady before it drizzled out. Deku excitedly bounced on the balls of his feet as he rambled about how it was slowly getting longer, while Katsuro's excitement fell from his face causing Bakugou's heart to ache just a bit at the sight of how disappointed he was.
"Disappointed in your favorite hero?" He mocked lightly.
"No!"
"Keh, sure you ain't."
"Whatever! Deku might be a loser now, but he's cool in the future."
"Hm, that's a bit-" Deku sadly began before being interrupted.
"How is he better than me?!" Bakugou criticized.
Katsuro pumped a tiny fist in the air as he confidently stared at the two heroes in training. His e/c eyes twinkled with newfound excitement, as a bright smile was plastered on his face.
"Uncle Deku told me he's going to give me the secret of One for-" Bakugou slapped a hand over his mouth instantly, as his eyes quickly darted around the training room.
A sharp breath released from the One for All quirk holder beside him, he ran a hand through his hair as he tried to steady his anxious heart rate from moments before. Crimson eyes looked at him with a disapproving glare as he timidly darted between confused e/c pupils and his own.
The hand dropped from Katsuro's mouth as he struggled against him with annoyance. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked up at Bakugou with a questioning glare and burning eyes at the fact he had been restricted.
"Idiot! Look around before announcing something private. If it's a secret, keep it a secret." Bakugou scolded lightly while jerking his head away from his son's glaring eyes.
Katsuro tensed as his ears dusted pink from embarrassment at his father's words. He ducked his head, his gaze resting on the floor as he felt the heat rush to his face. The thought of him mindlessly revealing a secret in order to boast repeated endlessly in his head, causing him to remain silent as he reflected. A firm, warm hand brushed the plaguing thoughts away as it rested on his head, gently ruffling his hair in a comforting gesture.
His e/c eyes peeked up towards the figure that stood in front of him, crimson eyes peering down at him with a softened gaze. His hand firmly ruffled his hair once more before being satisfied and pulling his arm back down to his side.
Bakugou exhaled slightly. "It's okay... Do you want to see Deku and I spar?"
"YEAH!" He exclaimed, his happy features returning to his face.
"Go wait over there, and you better cheer for me when I kick his ass." He motioned towards an open area while lightly chuckling.
Katsuro dashed away with excitement, happily preparing himself to watch the two boys spar.
"Geez! that was a close one, thank you Bakugou-" Deku began.
"Looks like even the you in the future can't keep a secret. I can't believe you told a six year old about One For All! What were you thinking, dumbass?!" Bakugou scolded with annoyance.
Deku timidly scratched his chin as he thought about his future self's actions. His eyes closed briefly as his eyebrows knitted before he anxiously smiled back at Bakugou, waiting for the scolding to finish.
"What?!" Bakugou snarled, noticing the smile directed at him.
"I was just thinking how great it is that your son is going to be the successor."
Bakugou tensed briefly before quickly recovering his composure before his childhood friend could catch the slip in emotions.
"Whatever."
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The sky turned dark as Bakugou chased the hyperactive child running around his dorm at the agency. Katsuro jumped onto the bed laughing happily as Bakugou grabbed him and lifted him up. He dramatically laid him down on the bed as the boy's laughter slowly started to die down.
"Okay, you had dinner and we got ready for bed. It's time to sleep, we have an early morning."
"We can't play a bit longer?"
"Nope! I already extended it five minutes longer the last time you asked, It's time for bed."
"Okay dad." Katsuro mumbled sleepily.
Bakugou tensed at the word he was addressed by, he still wasn't used to being called so affectionately and it shocked him every time he heard his son call out to him. His eyes softened as he looked down at Katsuro's already sleeping figure in his arms, a smile grew on his lips as he thought about the last few days he had with him.
He never expected to feel so connected to someone else before, and once he met his son he doubted he would be able to be a good father so suddenly. However, being around him felt so natural and taking care of him came effortlessly day by day. Some say it's because of how alike they are, but even though he saw all the similarities between them, he also could recognize the differences.
Deep down he wants to believe that even though his son hasn't been born just yet in this timeline and he hasn't met his future partner, that he still has an unbreakable bond that's tethered between him and his son. That there was a connection that led him to turning back the first day and finding him in the alleyway. A connection that grows stronger each day they spend together and depends on the bond between the two.
His eyelids grew heavy as he rested his head down on the pillow next to Katsuro.
"I love you." he mumbled, voice thick with sleep.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
His hands absentmindedly reached across the bed, filling the empty mattress instead of Katsuro's figure beside him. He patted the empty spot beside him a few more times as anxiety started to break through his sleep filled mind.
Bakugou's eyes blinked open, adjusting to the darkness in the room, he looked towards the bathroom to see no light on underneath the door. His eyes darted across the room looking for a sign of the boy when the corner of his eyes caught it briefly.
A faint dim light barely even visible, fading away. The same light he saw in the alleyway days ago when the boy had appeared. His mind raced as he processed the turn of events in the silence of the empty room.
He's back home.
Relieve flooded his body as the weight lifted off his shoulders and he fell back onto the mattress below. His crimson eyes closed as he tried to force his mind to go back to sleep, but an aching feeling started to creep its way into his thoughts.
The silence of the empty room he now resided in became to still, his heart ached at the fact that in the morning he wouldn't get to wake up his son and see the annoyed half asleep face he makes before finally smiling brightly at seeing him and questioning what is for breakfast like he had the last week.
His mind reeled at the sudden feelings of loss as he replayed the memories he had with his son in his head.
Maybe I should have let him stay up for five more minutes so we could play a bit longer.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The next morning the frigid weather felt as though it came back in full force. The wind blew past Bakugou's exposed ears, numbing them from the chilly cold. He groaned lowly under his breath, thick clouds of air were made visible as they wandered from his lips and out of the high collar of his hero uniform. He noticed dark green eyes would glance over at him every so often from the other side of Shoto's figure, his forehead creased in irritation at the worried glances pointed his way.
"Deku! stop fucking looking at me before you walk into a pole, dumbass." He barked.
His childhood friend's eyebrows rose in shock as his cheeks turned a light shade of pink from being caught.
"Haha, sorry kacchan! Um- just- Are you okay? You know with Katsuro being gone?"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"Oh, well-"
The conversation stalled suddenly when Endeavor launched himself over the guardrail along the sidewalk, Bakugou and the others quickly moved after him as the faint sound of car siren's met their ears.
The team anxiously prepared themselves for the upcoming threat, propelling through the air while the quick scenery of the city passes by them. The sight of a car crash and a villain floating in the air appeared up ahead as they furiously raced to the scene.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Unbeknownst to them, two figures had been watching from a rooftop building. Crimson red feathers moved slightly from the noisy disturbance down below, sharp golden eyes looking away from the book in his hand to the chaos on the streets.
"Oh, dear... such bad timing." His honey voice said playfully.
He motioned to the figure behind him as he spread his wings and prepared to descend from the roof.
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
The glass villain rushed down a narrow alleyway at the sight of Endeavor, desperately fleeing to get away. Melted glass rained down to the street from the powerful maneuver the number one hero used. The team raced after the villain as they quickly rushed into the alleyway, a few villain's that had teamed up with the glass villain were waiting by the exit ready to attempt a surprise attack.
Endeavor narrowly dodged the attack as he lunged towards the villain, grasping him by the shoulders and roughly pulling him towards the concrete.
Crimson red feathers grabbed the fellow villains by the collars of their shirts and lifted them into the air. Barely a moment later a flash of ice, Deku and Bakugou had rushed past the winged hero as he caught their targets.
"Huh?" Deku mumbled in confusion when the person he was about to kick was no longer in his field of vision.
"Oh, work study students?" The winged blonde mused.
"HAWKS!?" He hesitated.
Bakugou grumbled angrily as his feet landed heavily on the ground, he pivoted with knitted eyebrows towards the number two hero who was smiling happily.
"Sorry, I was just a little faster!" The hero teased.
Bakugou glanced at Shoto and Deku as they landed, the excitement that was boiling in his veins just moments ago was quickly dying out.
"What is Hawks doing here?" Shoto questioned out loud.
"I thought Endeavor was in trouble!" Hawks chirped.
"Did it look like I was in trouble?" He scoffed.
Hawks landed swiftly in front of Shoto, a teasing smile formed on his lips as his playful eyes glanced at him.
"It did, didn't it, Shoto?"
"Sure..."
"I thought I told you to let me know when you were coming." Endeavor exhaled slightly annoyed at his sudden appearance.
Hawks golden eyes narrowed slightly before returning to their normal carefree gaze.
"Well I just happened to be in the area."
Sirens blared through the air as cop cars raced down the empty street, tires screeching as they came to a sudden stop near the scene. Endeavor and Hawks quickly brought the villains to the policemen and started to debrief them on what had occurred moments ago.
As the police moved the villains into the vehicles, Bakugou watched as Endeavor made his way towards him and the others. The winged hero walked beside him, his mouth turned in a lopsided grin as he talked.
Deku approached the two pro hero's excitedly, his body tensing as he greeted hawks.
"N-Nice to meet you! I'm in U.A Hero Course, Class 1-A. My name is Izuku Midoryia!"
"Ah! You're the kid who destroyed his fingers right? I've heard about you from Tsukuyomi."
"Oh! By the way, where is he?"
"I have him following my sidekicks today, while -" Hawks gestured towards where a work study student stood a few steps away. "Y/N is shadowing me one on one."
Bakugou's eyes widened in shock at the familiar features that greeted him, the bright e/c eyes that twinkled with happiness and the corners of your mouth being turned upwards burned into his memory over the last few days. The voices around him became background noise as his eyes trailed your every move, taking in every playful smirk and hand movement as you talked.
His chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as he realized all the subtle similar features you shared with his future son, the heat rose up his neck to his face and turned the skin it touched scarlet. He quickly ducked his face beneath the high collar of his costume in an attempt to hide the growing blush as he flustered helplessly at your sudden arrival.
"Hey y/n! It's been awhile." Shoto greeted, casually.
"Hey Todoroki! Yeah it has."
Bakugou's eyes darted towards Shoto as the greeting between them had brought him out of his thoughts. He sent a pointed glare towards the icy hot classmate as his crimson red eyes met the mismatched pair of turquoise and gray.
"Bakugou, I told you I knew who the eyes reminded me of. It's y/n, we are neighbors."
"Someone had the same eyes as me?" You questioned curiously.
"Well, to be exact it was-"
"SHUT UP!" Bakugou Growled
"But-"
"I said shut your mouth, icy hot!"
Dark messy green hair shielded your view of the two bickering, a beaming smile greeted you as turned your attention towards the person now standing in front of you.
"Don't pay attention to them y/n. It's nice to meet you, I'm Izuku Midoryia or you can call me Deku."
"Nice to meet you. Um, do they do that all the time?" You questioned while stealing a glance at the two.
"Haha, sometimes... Wait, you go to Shiketsu right? I'm pretty sure I saw you at the provisional license exam."
"Yeah! I'm a first year, but I was able to take the test early with the second years."
The bickering grew louder as crackles popped and simmered in the explosive blonde's hand. Bakugou suddenly turned his head towards you and Deku and angrily barked.
"Deku! What are you saying over there huh?!"
"N-Nothing I swear!"
You tilted your head as confusion took over your features at the interaction around you.
"Bakugou greet them, you're being rude." Shoto scolded.
"Don't tell me what to do."
Golden and Turquoise eyes watched the group from a few steps away, a smile twisted its way onto Hawks face as he let out a fit of laughter. Endeavor let out a harsh breath as he sighed, he shook his head downward at the sight.
"Hm, what's all that about?" Hawks quipped.
He rolled his tense shoulders. "Don't ask."
"It looks like one of your work study students fell for one of mine." He said in a sing-song voice. "Maybe we should drop by more often if it's this entertaining to watch them interact."
"I would prefer if you didn't"
Bakugou's voice suddenly broke their conversation, their attention being drawn back to the crimsoned eyed blonde.
"Earlier, I was faster than you!" He yelled as he glared towards Hawks.

✧ ˚ · . Bonus Scene:
That day turned into night as the long patrol ended for the Endeavor agency students. The team stood outside a restaurant waiting for the arrival of Hawks and his students. After the chaos that happened that morning, it was eagerly decided upon by most of the members that a joint dinner would be a good bonding moment for everyone.
Crimson feathers came into sight as Hawks landed swiftly in front of the group, Tsukuyomi and you landing close by shortly after. You greeted the group with a wave as your feet wandered closer to the three boys.
Shoto and Deku eagerly greeted Tsukuyomi, while Bakugou awkwardly stood next to you. His hands stuffed into his pant pockets and face turned away from you as he watched his classmates.
"Don't tell Hawks I'm saying this, but you're right. You were just as fast as him earlier and just barely missed him." You say breaking the silence.
"Heh. I Know."
"What's it like working beside Endeavor?"
"He's a jerk, but he's the number one hero so I want to learn how he handles things."
You let out a lighthearted laugh, the corners of your eyes crinkled as you smiled brightly at him. He stared at you, his eyes softening slightly before he glanced away composing himself. His eyes wandered back to you, a faint touch of pink dusted his ears as he continued the conversation.
You two talked back and forth over a variety of topics, training, school, family before the group was alerted that the table was ready. His pace was steady beside you as the two of you walked behind the rest of the group into the restaurant.
"Do you have a sister named Chihiro?" Bakugou asked, catching you off guard.
"Yes, how did you know?"
"When you have kids in the future, don't let them babysit."
"W-What?!" You stammered, your step faltering.
Bakugou continued to walk ahead of you, his eyes trained on the group ahead of him and refusing to look back. The back of his neck burned as the pink that dusted his ears grew rapidly.
"You can't just walk away without explaining that?!" You exclaimed while walking faster to catch up to him, desperately trying to sync your footsteps once more.
"I'm pretty sure what I said is easy enough to understand."
His head jerked towards you, his chin lifted upwards slightly as a smirk played on his lips.
"Maybe for you, but I would like some more context."
His eyes over your head for a moment before crimson returned to meet e/c once more. His eyebrows furrowed in thought as he pondered his next words, his mouth opened slightly as he took in a quick breath.
"Friday, 5 pm at Ootoya."
You tensed in response, the quickening of your heart beat drumming in your ears as you process the words he said. He grumbled slightly under his breath at the lack of response and the shocked look that had overcome your features.
"Huh?" You managed to mumble out.
"If you want to know more you can meet me there."
"Like, a date?"
"What else would it be?" He said as he started to walk towards the group who had been seated at the table already.
"You know most people would just ask clearly." You tease as you walk beside him.
His steps faltered as he stopped suddenly, turning towards you. He looked into your eyes confidently, his lips held in a stern line as his eyes slowly started to soften the moment they met yours.
"Will you go on a date with me?"
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
Bakugou's eyes opened suddenly, he sat up in his bed as the thought that had forced him awake repeated in his mind.
Tsukuyomi knew you and had met Katsuro, there was no way he didn't realize you were his other parent....
Fuck you Tsukuyomi!

JASON TODD X FEM!READER  ☆ SUMMARY - the joker has tortured jason enough so he moves onto the thing he knows he loves the most.  ☆ WARNINGS - angst, torturing, whump, blood and gore, ptsd, crowbar lol, beatings, intended lower case, nothing i write is ever proofread 🩷
Tumblr media
it was supposed to be a good night, one filled with laughter and excitement, those nervous grins across the table because even after so long, jason still managed to make you so utterly timid especially when it came to flirting. you loved the boy with your life as he did you, so the plan had been to spend the evening at a restaraunt of your choice though he knew anything you picked, he would adore.
but while it was supposed to be a lovely night spent with your boyfriend of three years, though you had been friends much longer than that, everything turned to a change. he knew he was a little late though you would hardly blame him for having to help dick grayson get ready for his own date, instead you'd smile and tell him it really wasn't a problem. you were always kind like that. so you waited for him, outside of the restaraunt by yourself.
you supposed, looking back on it you perhaps shouldn't have waited outside alone in a summers dress within the black amiss of the gotham streets, it wasn't safe and the vigilante had warned you of such over and over, you supposed it was your fault after all that you were now in the situation you were in.
it all happened so fast, he approached you on his motorcycle, a sloppy grin on his face as it matched your own, you remembered kissing him softly and that was one of the last things you remembered before a sharp blow to the back of your head.
and now, as the man sat strapped to a chair the only thing on his mind was the unconscious girl in front of him, he didn't care for what would happen to him for he knew nothing could be worse than loosing you, his love. he knew who it was, the joker, he'd never truly leave even when jason prayed to any sort of god above that he would. he was always watching, like a stalker behind a camera, lurking though the man supposed it wouldn't be too hard to find out about you seeing as it had been all over the papers, the son of bruce wayne, supposedly died, dating the daughter of his fathers best friend.
"c'mon, princess, you gotta wake up." though he wanted to reach out, to push the hair away from your bloodied cheek that it was sticking too, you had fallen and cut your face yet nothing happened to him, why had the joker kept him if he weren't going to do anything aside from knocking him out and dragging him to your whereabouts. he cursed as he looked down at the restraints, holding him into the chair so he couldn't lift his arm.
it was the splutter of a cough that had his head instantly springing up from where it hung, eyes instantly surveying your form as you, weakly, attempted to sit up though with great difficulty due to your own restraints, chaining you to the stone wall behind you, it was damp on your back like a cloth dipped in water. the first feeling was confusion, the next was fear, and after that you weren't too sure what came up albeit you were sure it was more than five emotions mixed together. "jay?" a feeble rasp, the back of your throat felt like sandpaper.
"i'm here, baby, right here." confused, hazy, eyes glancing towards him where he sat wishing for nothing more than to allow himself out of the restraints, to hold you in his arms. he was a vigilante, he had seen a lot of fear in his life but on your face, he was sure that the emotion was enough to make a grown man cry, enough to make him swallow the lump at the back of his throat, apparently. "I'm gonna get out of here, 'kay? just gotta hold on." attempting to scratch the restraints against the seat he was shoved into, hoping they'd rip open but the attempt worked to no avail.
a night supposed to be filled with laughter and happiness, so why did tears coat your eyes? why did you back yourself against the wall only to glance up at your wrists, tied in some sort of cuffs that looked to be something one would only see in a tv werewolf show, then you remembered it was real life, that the blood surrounding your wrists from accidentally pulling a little too hard.
the sound of loud doors creaking had both the lovers heads turning, fear written all over them. "I see you have both awoken, good, it was getting a little boring all by myself." and a shrill laugh that had your body sinking into the wall further. you had always known of the joker, the man that had taken away the love of your life once but never, had you seen the man, sure on tv or on the newspaper but not in real life, not so close to you. "and what do we have here, a scared little doe?" You tried to back your face away when dirtied, calloused hands came in contact with your chin, holding it in place sternly. you were scared, terrified, even but even so you did everything you could to hide it on your face, unfortunately, you were never a great actress.
"let her go." the words gritted through the mans teeth, he was furious, he had never had a bigger indignation for someone other than the man in front of him, his hands on his loves face. "do whatever the fuck you want to me but let her go." but he wouldn't beg, he never did before and he certainly wouldn't begin now. he didn't miss the way your eyes flickered with distress because as utterly petrified as you were, you were double times for the love of your life. you had lost him once, it would never happen again.
this didn't seem to frighten the joker nor did he halt, instead, he roughly let go of your jaw in which you stared up at him in terror. it had occured to you that you were never often scared for yourself, usually, you were worrying about your lover and now as you sat on the cold ground, all you could do is stare. your mouth didn't open nor did your eyes blink, you just stared. you always wondered if you'd have a fight or flight instinct but never would you have guessed it would be to freeze. "how romantic, the knight ready to give himself up for the princess." a grin on the mans face, his makeup almost embedded into his skin.
"she's not a part of this-" but the joker was quick to shut the man down.
"oh, but she is." seemingly more serious than before, you didn't like this look, suddenly his laughs and grinned seemed so much less scarier than his serious, stern expression. "you knew she was as soon as you asked her to be yours." the jokers eyes moved from jason's to yours. "and now she'll pay the price for your idiocy. i mean, the papers, the news, you didn't really think no one would find out?" and his shrill laugh back, a giggle but not one filled with joy or happiness, one with a set goal to strike you with terror. "you're the reason she's here, you're the reason she's going to die, not today, maybe not this week, this month, maybe not even this year but the girl will die." turning his stern glance back to your boyfriend. "and her blood will be on your hands." and suddenly something struck jason todd, a strong, careless vigilante that people looked to when they needed a cold opinion, now he sat in the chair and his own stomach doubling over because for once in his life, the joker was right. jason todd would be the death of you, and he couldn't prevent it. "now... where were we?"
the sight, joker standing above your body, unmercifully beating your limp body with something sat in between his fingers, gripped harshly. but for a second, jason couldn't hear your pleas for him to stop, he couldn't hear your whimpers and attempts to get away from the man that so cruelly beat your body for his eyes had attached to something else. a crowbar, sitting harshly in his hands. a crowbar, possibly the very same one. but it didn't matter to jason for the only thing on his mind, he wouldn't let what happened to him happen to you, he couldn't. he wouldn't.
"hey! get the fuck off her!" but his shouts working to no avail. "don't fucking touch her!" attempting to shove his leg out, trying with everything he could to hit the joker in some way but he couldn't, he was too far away and all he could hear was your whimpers and sobs, begging the man to stop. "stop it!" but he couldn't help the glass that coated his eyes. he remembered this all too well, he couldn't re live the past but he gladly would if it meant you being safe. you were yelping, gasping and crying, but your body could hardly get away from the man covered in makeup, standing in a purple suit as if he were anything important.
it was jason's fault, all his fault, he should have left you out of this, you never should have been involved yet here he sat, his own voice choked, he couldn't do anything, he wasn't in control and there you lay, getting a beating for simply being in love with him. it wasn't fair, it wasn't fair in the slightest. y/n l/n the sweetest soul on the planet, according to jason, anyway, the girl with the gentlest of touches and the softest of voice, and the worst about it as he knew you lay, weeping and hyperventilating, he knew that in the back of your mind. you were relieved. because your lover was safe, a beating would hurt but nothing could beat the pure agony of the night jason todd was taken away from you.
your cries had begun to slow down, all jason could hear was the sharp intake of breaths as one landing followed the next, he couldn't see you, the joker being in the way of your body but he could only imagine the damage done to your pretty skin. "She won't die to today." the joker appeared to be out of breath as he raised himself from the previous position, his back still facing the man. "but she won't live forever, we both know that." jason's face twisting into some expression to keep himself from letting out the lump that had gathered at the back of his throat though his eyes still covered in tears that had been for you, the sound of your sobs echoing the room. "keep her guarded, while you can." and the joker had the impertinence to laugh. "sorry about that, dollface, nothing personal." as he bent down to stroke your hair from your face, jason heard you let out a whimper, he jolted forward in his chair. "just needed to teach the big boy here a lesson, a gift for your co-operation." as he dropped two keys on the ground in front of you.
for some sick, twisted reason the joker was merely expecting.... a thank you. so he waited, his face watching yours expecting for you to praise him, to adore him for letting you live. you were the kindest in the world, for the man that had killed your husband to be, you could spare nothing but honesty. "fuck you." and for a second, jason had been the proudest of you he had ever been, that was when his face twisted once more, realising that the joker wouldn't have taken such words lightly.
"bitch." slashing your face with something that jason could not see. he held your face up by your hair, pulling harshly on the roots. "you're lucky to be alive now, don't make me regret my decisions." but he needed her to stay alive so jason todd could live in fear, the fear that one day she would be snatched from his grasp, now, however, was not the time because he was sure that jason todd simply wasn't scared enough yet. jason watched as the joker slowly stood, turning to face him. "we'll meet again, the next time i won't be so kind." and that was all he had said before leaving the cold, damp room, the two lovers sat atop stone themselves, alone.
jason couldn't wait to look, he needed to see, he had to apprehend the damage. but as soon as his eyes laid on your body, he was almost upset with himself for looking. you were propped up against the wall, your long chained hands on the ground, your head hanging low but what jason could see from his angle, there was blood, too much blood. yet two keys sat in front of you, the jokers 'gift' had been your ticket straight out of there. "princess, fuck, okay you're gonna be okay, i- fuck." he was stressing, the keys so close to your body yet you were too feeble to take them, to unlock you both but if you stayed still any longer you were sure to pass out. "baby, listen to me, can you hear me?" the panic rising in his voice. a raspy hum in response but your vision completely blurred. "you need to get the keys, get us out of here and let me take you to the hospital, can you do that, sweetheart? c'mon i know you can, you're strong, angel, we both know that." that was something you certainly not, but he was trying to be encouraging, after all you supposed it was your fault you were here in the first place.
your hand reached out, slowly, wearily but nonetheless it reached out. jason could barely see the blood that coated your hand as you grasped the key into your hand, shoving it into the lock of your handcuffs. you unlocked yourself and just as you did so, your arms felt slightly limp. if there was one thing jason knew about you, it was that you were determined, so much so it annoyed him at times how utterly stubborn you were but in the end he loved it with every inch of him. "good girl, c'mon angel can you bring the other key over here? fuck, i'm so proud of you." but you knew it was nothings, to attempt to coax you into freeing him of the restraints.
you had the other key in your hand and somehow, you had made it to his chair, you weren't sure if you had crawled or staggered, you couldn't remember how your body moved from the wall to the centre of the room where jason todd sat in a chair, tied in restraints as you had, and you certainly weren't sure how you had managed to get a key stuck straight into his handcuffs.
it was now that you were close, now that your proximity defied you, you couldn't run, he could see every bruise that tattered your face, a large gash running across your cheek, and all up your arms was more bruises and grazes but he didn't miss how the blood soaked through your dress. your fragile, gentle body littered with so much danger, jason todd had never hated himself more and he could only assume you hated him the same, judging by the way you had not yet met his eyes, not yet said a word.
when his hands finally fell free they came to grab you, gently yet firmly as you practically fell limp. he shoved himself off the chair in an instant, crouching down to the ground with your body, holding you oh so close. he wrapped his arms around you, holding your head to his chest. he would save you but for a second he needed to hold you. to remind himself that you were here, alive, he wasn't sure if it would be the last time he ever would. how could you not hate him? it was all his fault, he was sure that after tonight, he'd never see you again, and how could he blame you?
he was expecting you to shove him away with the little strength you had left, maybe stay silent or perhaps you would raise your voice, he would have if be it he was in your position. however, what he hadn't expected was another whimper as you shoved your head into his chest and the next words to fall from your lips. "i'm sorry." sorry? you? why would you possibly be sorry? "i shouldn't have made you come to dinner, i'm sorry, i'm sorry, s-so stupid." but nothing could ease your sobs as you clung to the larger man.
"hey, hey, sweetheart none of this is your fault." as he pushed your face out of his shoulder with his hands, staring right into your beautiful eyes that looked so saddened, fat tears rolling down your cheeks as you scrunched your brows together. "okay, i fucked up, i never should have left you alone and i won't do it again okay just please- fuck just dont- dont leave me." and he knew how selfish it was to ask of you, to stay with the man that was sure to ruin your life but he wouldn't, not as long as he could help it for he would cling to you for the rest of your life, if you let him.
you shook your head, allowing the silent tears to continue to make their way down your cheeks. "'won't leave. 'wont ever leave." and once again your hands clung to him, like he would disappear if you had let go. he left once, you would never allow that to happen again. "jay, e-everything hurts." everything burned, right through your skin and you couldn't help but shake in his hold.
"fuck- i know baby, i'm gonna save you 'kay? promise." and he did just that. jason todd. some said he was a hero. others say he's a villain. some say that he was once a hero and turned bad others say he was never good to begin with.
but with you? jason had never done anything but save you. an everlasting hero.

you stood with your back against the drinks table, sighing through your pouted lips as you glanced around the room, hoping for some type of entertainment to catch your eye. you didn't even wish to be here, in fact, you would have done just about anything to be snuggled up in your bed reading a book right about now.
jason was the reason you were here in the first place and yet, he was nowhere to be seen.
you’d heard of the wayne gala’s a lot before, it wasn’t exactly new to you. you’d been to a couple of them yourself too but there was a reason you didn’t come to them often and one could guess it was because this is how it always ended, you sat up against the drinks table with expensive alcohol swirling in your expensive glass and dressed in your expensive dress. it was so… not you.
you were the type of girl that dragged your friends to junk yards and bought the cheapest clothes that you saw hidden in thrift stores.
not the type of girl that attended wayne gala’s.
and yet, here you stood all because you were so helplessly smitten with your all time best friend, jason todd, the son of bruce wayne, the redhood, the gentleman, the many, many things. he’d asked you to go to the wayne gala’s with him before, offering it up yet you always politely declined, stating it wasn’t your scene but this time was simply different.
you’d sat up on your bed, flicking through your magazines while jason rambled on as he began tearing his tie from around his throat. it was late, too late but jason never did care for the time when it came to seeing you.
you swallowed, nodding along and humming. it was just so late and you’d only woken up so your mind was all fuzzy and for some reason you couldn’t stop thinking about how nice some grapes would taste right about now. “are you listening to me?” the question from jason was rhetorical but you’d be lying if you said your undivided attention as on him. “i’m a dead man!”
“it’s not that big of a deal.” you uttered, closing your magazine and sighing, you really wanted some grapes. “really, you’re only stressing yourself out. you’re an… attractive guy, i’m sure you’ll get a girlfriend between now and the next gala.”
“but thats the thing… i don’t want a girlfriend!” sheesh, your head was too clouded for his yelling. “i shouldn’t have opened my mouth.”
you could only shrug your shoulders, nodding. “true.”
he took a seat on the pink quilts that surrounded your bed, his head falling into his hands and groaning. “you’re not helping.”
jason had made the idiotic choice of lying to bruce when asked if he had a girlfriend. he was just so tired of him asking and asking and asking so he decided to lie, telling him that he did in fact have a girlfriend and that they’d been together for quite a while now, he’d just been saving the announcement for a more special day.
so what did bruce do? announce it at his next gala, stating that jason would surely be bringing her along for the next.
and jason almost choked on his bourbon.
he was dressed in his suit from before, his hair all messed and teased while his clothes just looked out of it, his shirt untucked, his jacket discarded on the ground and he had pulled the tie from his neck, unbuttoning the first two or three buttons, he felt like he was going to collapse.
“i’m sorry.” you spoke softly, feeling sympathetic for your ‘best friend’. you turned to him, clad in your pretty pink pijama’s and softening your gaze on him. “how can i help?”
the way you looked at him should have told him everything. what your gaze should have said was that you were in love with him, you had been since the very first day you’d laid your eyes on him, gaze never leaving and your jaw falling slack. okay, perhaps you hadn’t loved him during your first encounter but there was definitely… something, something that told you this wasn’t just any boy but he was something much much more.
it should have told him a lot of things, should have spilled your feelings right then and there but jason was as oblivious as they come, he hadn’t a notion of what your gaze meant. in fact, he blamed the diluted pupils on the fact that he’d woken you up, banging on your door at all hours of the night.
“you could help in one way but… nevermind, it’s stupid.” shaking his head and turning away. the master of manipulation.
and you looked almost concerned then, the victim of that very manipulation. “no, what is it? i wanna help.”
and he knew you did, it’s why he said anything in the first place. sweet old you, always willing to do anything he said, just to please him.
“you could… you know, pretend to be my girlfriend, it would just be for the night, for the gala. you know, to get everyone off my back?” his eyes stared back at you, big and hopeful.
how could you, in your right mind, say no when you were so utterly full of love for the boy. “wha… i don’t even have a dress.” an excuse, a terrible one because something in you was downright shocked. you? of all people? first, you could barely go to that gala as it was let alone pretend to be his girlfriend.
besides, you began to get a little worried. perhaps you’d like the pretend game a little too much.
“i’ll buy you a dress.” he insisted almost instantly. lord knew he had the money.
but you frowned a little at that. “i’m not a charity case, jay…” sure, your apartment was a little small but it was homely, it was you. though you were sure it didn’t much live up to jasons standards.
“not a charity case, i know.” he came a little closer, pressing his hand against your thigh and rubbing it gently. “i just want you to feel your best for the night, angel, it’s just one night.”
you bit down on your lip, knowing you’d regret it. “fine.”
but for jason, you’d face just about any guilt.
and after his many thank you’s and squishing hugs that had your face smushed against your chest you finally sighed out. “I can’t believe i’m doing this for you.” sending him a playful glare though there was a pit in your stomach.
“please.” he couldn’t help but smirk. “you love me.”
and you couldn’t possibly tear your eyes away from him. without playfulness or a smile, you spoke the words, “I’d have to be a fool.” before quickly shaking your head and changing the subject. “you have to wear a pink tie to match my dress.”
he had the audacity to laugh in your face. “I will not.”
“yes you will.” you folded your arms over your chest. “you will or i’m not going.”
jason couldn’t help but shake his head with a chuckle. “fine.”
“fine.” you repeated. “now go get me grapes from the fridge.”
brat.
you’d been announced as his girlfriend, he’d held your waist for the entire night, grinned and beamed over at you as his brothers watched sceptically.
now, you sat alone at a table, downing what felt like your hundredth glass.
you didn’t drink often so you gave yourself a little lean for this time, seeing as you never did it, now was your chance to get absolutely… shitfaced, did damian call it?
but it wasn’t as if you didn’t have a good reason.
jason, your best friend, your first and last love, was standing speaking to some blonde girl, she was giggling away, obviously pleased with herself as if she didn’t have a lipgloss smudge on her teeth. and you? you couldn’t have been more ashamed with yourself.
your head was placed on your arm that was slinked across the white tablecloth, just watching the pair as the alcohol swirled in your cup. you wondered how you went from eating the white grapes to downing the white wine in your hands.
then your eyes glanced back to jason, in his pretty pink tie, and it all made sense.
he was your best friend, you had no right to be jealous, no reason to be but for some reason you thought by him bringing you here, introducing you as his girlfriend meant something.
but it was all just play pretend.
you knew this, you knew it as well as anyone and yet you still couldn’t help but feel so utterly… hurt.
your eyes burned but you weren’t crying, your throat burned but that was only because of the alcohol that didn’t even taste nice.
they should really have grapejuice here, the non-alcoholic kind.
it was dick grayson who’d laid his hands on your shoulders that adverted your gaze from jason. your pupils were wide, the rims of your eyes red though you weren’t sure if that was due to the alcohol or the fact that you were holding your own tears at bay.
“hey, y/n, how you feeling?” his tone was soft, understanding. he really was one of your best friends. he was crouched down to your level as you sat in the chair.
you glanced down to the cup in your hands. “think ‘m drunk, dickie.” because suddenly the entire room was spinning.
“yeah.” he pressed his lips into a thin line. “think maybe you’re done for tonight, huh?” taking the glass from your hands before you could so much as protest.
with heavy eyes and an even heavier heart, you nodded your head. “think ‘m… ‘m gonna go home.” home was where your bed is, they say. but saying you were going home and directing it towards your house didn’t even sound right. home was that curly, raven haired boy with a pretty smile.
“don’t go home.” his eyes glanced towards jason, sighing. “don’t go before you’ve talked to him.”
dick was one of your best friends. with that being said, he knew everything about you down to where your birthmarks were, that meant he knew all about these hidden feelings for your supposed best friend jason todd, his dear little brother.
but you could only shake your head. even thinking about jason right now was enough to make you queasy. “no, he’s talkin’ to blondie.” blondie, the pretty girl who you couldn’t even judge if you wanted to. she had a dark black dress on, she was much taller than you, large heels and standing with her shoulders drawn back, obviously much more confident too.
was she everything that you lacked?
as if summoning him, you could feel the dark shadow that loomed over you, even with your head pressed against that damned tabelcloth, even that was expensive.
“is she alright?”
that voice, that pretty, deep, and almost mysterious voice yet as perplexing as it was, you were sure that you’d recognise that voice amiss any crowd, through any drink that entered your system. jason still roamed your mind, always and when his voice was spoken, you were sure to hear it.
“she’s drunk.” dick answered for you, as though you weren’t sitting right next to him. “i think you should bring her upstairs, get her cleaned up and put to bed.” dick was doing you a favour in the long run, even if it didn’t feel like it.
but your head had finally risen from the table, big doey eyes staring up at the two large men above you. “n-no i can… i can bring myself home.” your words slurring.
jason couldn’t help but laugh down at you, glossy lips turned into a pout. “yeah, cause i’d let you ride your little bicycle through gotham alone, at this hour of the night, in the state that you’re in.” of course, you were the only one in the entire world that would ride one of those pretty pink bikes with a woven basket in gotham. “come on, let me put you to bed.”
you don’t remember bidding goodbye to dick but you were sure you had. you didn’t remember moving from the table to the door, practically being pushed by jason. however, you did vaguely remember uttering the words, “you need’a say g’night to blondie.” to which he responded with. “who?”
that confused you because he genuinely seemed confused, as though he hadn’t even remembered the colour of the hair belonging to the girl he’d just spoken to. had he really been that uninterested or was he just putting on a show?
you did remember, however, sitting on the cold tiles of jason’s bathroom floor after he’d undressed you, stripping you to your undergarments and placing a long tee over you. you remembered the way his hands gently did it, soothing you as he went, uttering soft words and assuring you that it was okay.
in no way did he make anything sexual, instead, he was merely caring for his ‘best friend’.
you remembered the way the tears began rolling down your cheeks as you dry sobbed pathetically, the drink getting the better of you.
jason had been tending to your face, a cotton pad covered in micellar water gently cleansing your skin, softly dancing it across the makeup that covered your face and wiping it clean. he wasn’t used to taking off makeup, obviously, so this was a little difficult for him. but he got used to it.
it wasn’t the first time he’d done it for you.
only difference was this time he was comforting your cries at the same time. “shh, shh, c’mon, tell me wh’s the matter, baby?” all soft and gentle with you as you couldn’t do anything but let the liquidy tears fall down your face, trying to avoid his gaze. “c’mon, tell jay wh’s wrong so he can fix it.”
but how were you to tell him that the reason you were crying was because you loved him?
you couldn’t, so instead you opted for shaking your head, words practically heaving out of you as your breaths became laboured and uneven.
jason could tell where this was going.
he’d comforted you on multiple occasions, some worse than others but that didn’t change the fact that he knew you from the inside and out. “hey, hey, breathe, pretty girl, breathe.”
he’d taken your head in the palm of his hand, gently placing it against his chest so that you could feel the way his own chest rose and fell and hear the way his heart beated against his ribcage. he knew this was a good thing to do when it came to you, this was a reminder that he was alive and by the way you could hear and feel it too, surely, you were alive as well.
it was grounding.
“in with me, c’mon, angel.” breathing in and you followed, trying to take as much air into your lungs as you possibly could. “‘n out, good girl.” he praised, hearing the shaky breath that you still let out.
when your breathing had regulated back to normal, there were still tears streaming down your face and you couldn’t help but cry and whimper pathetically. you could blame the alcohol or you could blame the fact that you’d gotten so caught up in play pretend that you’d forgotten yourself, who you were and what you really meant to jason.
“s-shouldn’t have come.” you muttered through your desperate cries. “shouldn’t have come here.” while the messy tears coated your perfect skin.
it broke jason’s heart. you were his bubbly girl, always grinning and smiling, laughing at jokes you didn’t understand, grinning at people you didn’t even particularly like, you were nothing but good. you were gold, if the colour was a person, it was you. your heart was as big as a heart could get yet you know what they say, the bigger the person, the harder they fall.
and sometimes your poor golden heart simply couldn’t take the mean world.
“what?” suddenly, his own heart began to shatter. he suddenly felt as though it was his fault. you were acting like this because you didn’t want to be here, because either something had happened or simply you were too overstimulated due to the gala itself (poor oblivious jason still hadn’t got it right.) whatever the case, he’d been the one to drag you along here and now he felt guilt pang his heart heavily. “no, no everyone loved you, what are you talking about?”
your teary, broken eyes glanced up at him, and you couldn’t tear your eyes away.
perhaps it was the too much alcohol that had entered your lightweight system or perhaps it was the way he looked so… dreamy, even through your blurred vision. his pretty sapphire eyes gazed down at you, so full of concern and worry. he cared so deeply about you, you could tell from his eyes. the slope of his nose, his pretty lips drawn into a frown, his sharp jaw line and the little curls of his hair, white streaks at the front on wide display.
“i’m a fool.” you uttered, so pathetically, full of realisation.
once again, his black brows furrowed in confusion yet also so full of concern. he wanted to understand, to help you but you were proving it awfully difficult, not that he blamed you. “what? you’re not a fool, what are you talking about?”
you sniffled, practically blubbering. “i told you i’d have to be a fool to love you ‘n if that’s true then i’m a fool.” you hadn’t a notion of what possessed your mouth to move, possessed you to speak. “‘m the biggest fool in the world because i love you so much ‘n im scared i’ll never be able to stop loving you.”
and the biggest problem was that you were sure he’d never feel the same.
“is that what all of this is about?” he had to stop himself from chuckling at you, otherwise you’d take it the wrong way and the tears would begin again. instead, his eyes softened and his hand came down to move the hair from your face. “you should have just told me, princess, all of this could have been avoided.”
you stared up at him with those dazed, confused eyes.
“when i told you i didn’t want a girlfriend.” he confessed. “it wasn’t because i didn’t want one it was because i didn’t want one that’s not you.” you had to blink at him, thinking it was all merely a dream. “i love you too, sweet girl, always have, always will.”
and you were sure it was a dream.
“jay?”
“yeah?”
“will you tell me this again when i’m sober?”
a chuckle.
“of course, angel.”
“promise?”
“i promise.”

jason had realised much too late what was going on.
his head had been torn while working on the case with dick. what was joker going to do next, who was the target? after all, he never did go out without a bang. and he was getting closer and closer to the people they loved.
it was just a matter of time.
he had to admit, during all of this he'd managed to push you away. unintentionally, of course. you two were getting into it almost every day now. though he had to agree that it was his own doing and not yours. he'd snap, you'd merely stare, wondering what was wrong with him.
didn't you see? by the end of the week, joker would have gotham painted red if they didn't figure out his next move soon enough.
this was why jason was thankful your sister had come for the weekend to take you away. your sister, ashley, worked a long while away from gotham and it wasn't often that she came to see you. when she did, she turned her nose up at the sight. she never was a lover of gotham.
jason supposed, neither were you.
but as much as you hated the crime that circled gotham, the dirt on the street, the injustice of the entire city, you still loved it dearly. it was where you'd grown up and you just couldn't bring yourself to leave. so, you got a paying job, lived in the smallest of apartments where you spent most of your time with your lover. and if you and jason weren't there, you were spending time at the manor, wrapped up in jason's black sheets while he recited the books that lay on his night stand.
the trip ashley was taking you to would last a total of two days, the friday she came and the saturday after. you wouldn't be heading home until that sunday evening.
he hoped by then that he would have the case sorted out and it was safe enough for you to come home.
often times, he wondered what he was doing as red hood. perhaps it wasn't worth it anymore, would it be better to just let it all go? batman and nightwing could save gotham. he and you could live a normal, mundane, happy life. then he'd look at you in the midst of reading, glancing down at your closed eyes and pretty pouty lips. then, he'd be reminded of why he did what he did. to make gotham a better place for you and one day, for his family.
"you all set?" he questioned, shutting the trunk after lifting all your bags into the car. you'd told him you could do it yourself but he only insisted. he'd done enough to you in the past few days, you deserved this at least.
"yes." you grinned up at him, sweet as ever. even in he midst of chaos, you were the sweetest he'd ever seen. "apex grove awaits us!" you glanced to your sister who was sat in the car, leaning out the window with an ugly green suncap on her head apex grove written in yellow writing.
"it's gonna be the best weekend ever!" she was whooping in the car causing you to giggle at her antics. it would be the best weekend ever, for her, that was if she remembered any of it after she got shitfaced two nights in a row.
jason was not unfamilliar to your sister's drinking habits. but he thought what harm, it wasn't as if you were stupid enough to get dragged into it too. "you have fun, okay? not too much fun."
you listened to him huff out a laugh. "i will." before moving forward to let your head fall on his chest. hugging jason was what you assumed hugging clouds felt like. though you'd never experience it, you could still dream. "'m gonna miss you." you mumbled, only loud enough for the man to hear.
even during arguments, you were the only one that truly saw him.
you never blamed him for his short temper or his aggrivation he felt during cases like these. you only moved with caution, letting him know you were there. you were something he would be eternally grateful for.
"i'll miss you too, sweetheart." he mumbled back, pretty eyes glowing in the little sunlight that gotham got.
"bleh!" your sister yelled, rolling her eyes. "come on, y/n! we're gonna be late for the dinner reservation!"
"okay, bye." you reached up, kissing him on the lips ever so gently. "love you."
"love you too." watching as you made your way towards the passenger seat giddily. "take care of her!" placing his hands on his hips as though he were a mother.
"bye jason!" your sister only yelled back in response causing his brows to crease even further. was she trying to make him go grey in his prime? nevertheless, he waved towards your window until your sister's range rover left through the wayne manor's gates.
while watching them close on the way out, he felt a certain tightness in his chest. worry. he worried for you, worried that something would happen to you while you were gone. then he reassured himself that here was where the trouble was. if anything, he should be thankful you were anywhere but here.
you'd given jason a key to your apartment. you'd always insisted he'd take one anyway but he never did, you soon learned that was because he sort of liked coming through your window, grin on his face as you jumped sheepishly with a fright.
now, however, the key was forced into his back pocket.
you'd told him he'd better stay at yours for at least the nights, reassuring him that this whole joker business would get sorted out as it always did. you told him that whatever he was to do, he was at least to get sleep in your apartment and not stay cooped up in the manor wondering where joker will land next.
and he really wanted to make you happy, truly.
but it was now sunday and they were no closer than they were before.
bruce was injured, heavily so, from the joker's last attack. alfred had all but bedbound him, forcing him onto the lush mattress that costs more than your apartment complex put together.
so for the most part, it was just dick and jason on this one. tim was away and damian wasn't trusted on something so severe without the guidance of bruce.
alfred popped in once or twice to deliver food and assure that they were getting the rest and nutrition that they needed.
however, all the brothers could do was think the entire events over and look for clues. "three wheels on fire." dick's hands were clasped in his lap while he sat by the computers. "that's what he said, why didn't he show?"
the men had thought for sure that the joker would have struck at the fun fair. gotham was throwing one and there happened to be exactly three ferris wheels. "i don't know." leaning his face onto his hand that was propped onto the table. a map lay atop it. "maybe it was to throw us off his trail?"
"no chance!" dick quickly shut him down as he stood, pacing the cave. "maybe something went wrong. maybe he messed up. three wheels on fire, i mean, that was his chance! what else could he have been talking about." seconds passed before dick practically had a light bulb appear over his head. "a car? three cars?"
"that could be any three cars." jason waved him off. "how on earth would we figure out who? besides, three random civilians? don't you think it's a little too.... theatrical for three civilians?"
dick slumped back into his chair. "the joker does love his theatrics."
and jason had to agree with that. his eyes glanced down to the map, scanning it, until... "dick." his head turned. "hand me that red marker?" doing as he was told, dick handed jason the red marker that he used to scribble little dots against the page.
in confusion, the older boy watched him. he watched as fear suddenly took over his face, draining him to a ghostly while colour. dick hadn't seen jason scared of many things but whatever he had just uncovered... that was enough fear for a lifetime. "talk to me jaybird."
he swallowed thickly, already standing. "everywhere the joker's hit has been in pathway's through towns. every dot on the page is where he hit."
dick shook his head. "no, no, he didn't hit there." bulky finger lingering on the last spot on the page.
"no." he shook his head. "but it's the only dot that would connect the full circle. apex grove. it's where y/n is." the words came out sort of like a whisper, a whisper of pure fear.
"no, no, okay? you can't go off of some silly circle drawing, i mean, how do you know she's even in a car right now?" his hands were on jay's shoulders, trying to keep him steady in all his attempts. but jason's mind had already been clouded by fear and that enough had it made up.
"she's coming home tonight."
"that still doesn't prove anything!"
"dick." his face stern and steady. "if anything happens to her," voice cracking ever so softly. "if anything happens to her, i won't forgive myself."
dick swallowed too, realising perhaps jason was right. and even if he wasn't, was it a situation he was willing to put your life on the line for? "okay, let's go."
"it's so dark." you giggled, glancing out the window. you were... tispy, you could say. thing is, you'd been the sober one for friday and saturday night so ashley decided you were going to drink at least one night so she decided why not now, it wasn't as if you had to drive back to gotham, she had that handled.
"yeah." she chuckled. "tends to happen when the sun goes down." you hummed, sitting back up. you weren't exactly drunk, everything was just buzzing a little. "i didn't wanna ask because i didn't wanna ruin the whole night or anything but what was going on with you and jason?"
"what do you mean?" you questioned, turning your head to her while laying it against the seat. tiredness consumed you whole and while you'd loved this little getaway with your sister, you were thankful to be sleeping in your apartment bed tonight.
she shrugged her shoulders, eyes set on the dark road ahead. "i don't know, thought there was a little tension or something."
"we had a little fight." you admitted, absentmindedly gazing out the window. "but it's okay, all couples fight, right?" you couldn't tell her why you'd fought because that would include telling her about the fact that he worked with batman against the joker and that didn't seem like a great way to tell her.
"oh yeah, you should see me and theo." theo was her husband, the father to her kid, teddy, it was supposed to be sort of like theo but you didn't know if that was how it actually sounded. "we fight all the time."
"but you love him." you added.
"oh yeah, to bits." grinning and for a split second, glancing at you. "and as a girl in love, i can tell when other people are in love. and you and jason are just... soulmates." you huffed out a little laugh. "no, seriously, i've never seen two people so in love. i mean, all through highschool, i really thought you were gonna end up a crazy old cat lady."
"i do like cats."
"mm, always did."
BANG !
jason swore he broke every speed limit known to man, he didn't care. he couldn't care. dick waited until the motorbike slowed to a stop.
the men discarded the vehicles before stepping onto the road, staring in shock.
in the darkness of the night, a range rover could be made out, lights still on, though it appeared only one was working. it had been flipped on it's backside, one wheel discarded on the other side of the road. what had hit them? jason had no idea but what he did know was that there was a kind of ringing in his ear, fear.
"is that them, jason?!" it wasn't the first time dick had yelled out the question.
though his voice suddenly brought him back to life, his brows knitted. "the car's not on fire." he mumbled, confused. "dick, the car isn't on fire."
"oh shit." instinctively taking a step back. "it's gonna blow up."
the words should have registered in jason's mind to get the fuck out of there. instead, he ran towards the car.
he heard the faint yell of "jason!" from behind him. but there was only one thing on jason's mind as of now. and that was you.
he found you quick enough, popping off the door with his strength instead of wasting any more time. he could see you flipped in the passenger seat, your sister next to you. even when blood dripped from your forehead and your nose, gash against your hairline, you looked almost peaceful, as if you were only sleeping.
it caused genuine fear in him. jason swore he'd never been so scared.
knowing that at any moment the car could explode, he grabbed your limp body with ease, carrying it until you were a safe enough distance from the car and setting you down on the ground.
"y/n? baby, can you hear me?" dick watched as his baby brother held his limp girlfriend in his arms. "y/n, wake up. wake up!" as if in some distant world, you'd heard him, your eyes slowly peeled themselves awake. "there you are, there you are, huh?" though a laugh emitted his mouth, there were tears in the corner of your boyfriends eyes.
confusion washed over you, eyes hazy. "where am i?" but before you could receive an answer, everything came flooding back and you began sitting up, turning your head. "where's ashley?"
you were leaning on your arm, the other had a wound soaking through your shirt.
the men didn't respond, glancing to one another. going in there meant risking their lives. and sure, they risked their lives every day for the people of gotham but that car could blow at any minute. "where is she?" you practically cried, eyes turning to the flipped car behind jason. "she's still in there?!"
"y/n, listen―"
you cut dick off, trying to stand. "no! no! i have to get her!"
jason held you though it didn't take much, your body already weak. "sweetheart, the car is gonna blow, we can't risk you―"
"i have to save her! get off!" as much as you tried to writhe against him, it worked at no avail. "jason, get off me! jason!" dick's heart pained as jason's hand soothed the back of your head, pushing it against his shoulder.
BANG !
you swore you screamed, you heard a scream, you think. it was all really hard to remember. you clawed at jason, crying into his redhood suit shoulder, sobbing horrendously as you watched the car that held your sister burst into flames.
jason held you, not uttering a word and watching dick flee the scene, most likely in suit of finding the joker. he could only hold you close, listening you scream the word 'no' on repeat.
"i know, i know." he swore he could feel his own eyes muddling with the same glassy tears that yours were covered with. "i'm sorry, i'm so sorry."
at some point, you turned your eyes away from the explosion, face in jason's chest. you no longer fought against him, crying so loudly as he held your wrists against him, trying everything in his will to pick the pieces of you up. but in some way, he felt as though he'd caused them.
"she's gone." you sobbed out violently against him. "she's gone." the words repeated in your brain. you'd lost many people to gotham but never did you think you'd lose her, anyone but her.
"baby, you're bleeding." blood covered your hands and his, practically dripping down your face. "we need to get you to a hospital."
but you were beyond the point of caring, blubbering with few whimpers between. all you could think was your pretty sister, a husband and a kid, burned away in an explosion. she was gone and she was not coming back. "i- i can't." hyperventilating out the words. "i can't l-leave."
"i got you." you felt him help you off the stone ground, your knees weak. though nothing really registered, a ringing in your ears. even hours later, he kept repeating the same words. "i got you. i got you." sitting on the hospital bed next to you while you sat with a sullen look in your eyes. you were far away, that much was obvious but no longer stained with the vicious blood.
"she's gone." it came out much calmer now, though tears still coated your glassy red eyes. "why didn't you take her and not me?" though it was a stupid question.
even in your clouded mind you knew that if he could do it all over again, he wouldn't change a thing.
"i had to save you." he answered.
when he saw you were in that flipped over car, knowing there was a chance he could have blown up with you, he took it anyway, grabbing your limp body without hesitation.
he'd rather die than let something happen to you.
and in this case, he'd rather let someone else die than any harm to come to you. and that was simply something he wasn't afraid to admit.
he could lose. he had lost. he lost almost everything from his family to the world around him. but he couldn't lose you. no, anything but you.

Run baby, run: AK!Jason x reader
Tumblr media
part 2 to Somebody's watching me.
She looked so peaceful. So innocent.
And completely oblivious to the fact that the casual outing she went to with her friends was carefully observed by a pair of eyes, hidden under a metal helmet.
Or was she-?
He was like a predator.
Waiting for a single mistake of his prey to take a change and lunge at the opportunity fate presented him with.
Whatever the mistake may be in this case.
But sooner or later she was gonna make one.
Part ways with her friends.
Get drunk and bibulously let some guy touch her.
Dance to the music to the point of exhaustion and end up on the couch in a stranger’s house.
And he would be there to prevent the aftermath of that.
***
For the last week she was going crazy.
Ever since that one night when she saw a silhouette on the rooftop it felt like someone has been following her every move, ever step, lurking in the dark, so close to her and yet, just beyond reach. However, when she tried to tell her friends about they look at her like she was making a joke. So obviously she stopped doing as much as even mentioning it, cause the last thing she wanted was to be abandoned by the only people in her surroundings.
Even if those friends didn’t really deserve the name.
But still – those were the only one she had.
Incomparable with the Waynes she used to spend her time with years ago, before all went to shit. But Jason’s disappearance left an everlasting scar. The only thing she wanted was to forget it all, and yet – the only impossible thing in her life seemed to be letting go of the past. And being in the company of Dick, Tim, Babs and the rest of the clan was making her skin burn and her stomach twist and turn with the incoming, checkless panic attack. Like her entire body and mind felt the pressure of the past on her fragile conscience and damaged soul.
And the only thing she felt like doing in the Manor was either screaming or crying.
So she moved on, or so she tried to convince herself of.
***
Mistake number one was left her drink unattended when she went to the toilet.
Rookie move with the possible grave consequences.
But it was gone when she came back. Only fueling her paranoia.
Mistake number two was letting her eyes off her companionship and being left alone by the exit with some drunken and already horny guys.
But when with shaky hands she pulled out her phone, desperately searching through her contact list for a potential backup, those men were already dragged into the nearest dark alley and knocked down.
But her worst mistake was not calling the cab and deciding on actually walking home. In her opinion it was a way to get some air and calm her rapidly racing heart, but she freaking forgot it was Gotham.
Like a freaking fool.
Under any other circumstances she would never and the fact that the though of going on foot even crossed her mind was the perfect reflection of her shattered mind spinning like a freaking Ferris wheel.
Something was wrong.
Something was awfully wrong and she felt like she was a main character in some horror movie.
Like that girl, who you watch on the screen, screaming at her to not go to that creepy attic from where the most suspicious sounds come, and then do the exact same thing when faced with a threat.
A ruffle of the leaves. The sound of an empty soda can rolling on the street. The flap of bird’s wing.
It all made her feel like a Freddy Krueger was coming after her.
And maybe she was not so far from the truth.
Her pulse was over the moon, heart running out of her chest, breath quickening, legs starting to move faster and faster and faster as she started running. Not really watching where as long as it was forward and away from whatever imaginary individual was chasing her.
With wild hair, tears in her eyes and blurry vision.
She was so stupid. So fucking stupid and mental, belonging in the mental institution due to her damaged brain refusing to stop dwelling on the past trauma.
“WATCH OUT!”
Before she was hit by a car a strong pair of arms grabbed her by the waist pulling her back to the pavement. She closed her eyes in fear letting whoever her savior was hold her trembling form. As weird as it was, for some reason being in this embrace felt… good. And familiar. Like she belonged there.
And if it was another wave of schizophrenic images coming from her brain she refused to accept it, freezing at the spot and waiting for it to pass.
But the stranger’s seeming grip on her body did not falter. For a longer while that seemed both like an eternity and like a second.
“Y/N….”
It must have been a wind. It must have been a wind. It must have been a wind.
“Y/N…”
The second the voice hit her ears again she turned around abruptly, but there was no one there.
She was going crazy.
With wide terrified eyes, slowly coming back on earth she finally took in her surroundings.
Realizing, to her undeniable terror, that she was right next to Dick’s house. And even worse – noticing the lights in his windows. Which meant he was here and not in Bludhaven. And not patrolling. Which was an uncommon, if not impossible conjuncture.
The past finally caught up with her.
“Y/N?!” Dick noticed her outside and opened the window, holding back the instinct to just jump outside (from 3rd floor) like an acrobat he was. “Y/N?! What are you doing here? Are you ok?”
“No…” she sobbed “No, I’m not okay…” she finally broke down in the middle of the night, on the empty street.
“Damn!” a few minutes later Grayson was downstairs holding her for dear life. “It’s okay. It’s okay. Whatever happened, you are safe with me now, I promise.”
She couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. Crying from fear and stress and helplessness.
“Shhh… come on, let’s get you upstairs and cleaned up. I got you.”
When Dick was slowly guiding her to his apartment, the same predatory red eyes were focused on the pair and the sudden need for vengeance sprouts buds, growing roots deep into the long-petrified heart, crushing down the ice it was covered with.
No one was going to take her away from him this time.

Midoriya Izuku was always very observant.
Anyone who got to know the green-haired lad would agree. He was quick to pick things up, especially when it came to something he loved, that being anything that had to do with heroes.
It was a skill that was required from him, after all. As a hero in training, you never know when some villain could secretly be doing something behind your back, or in front of you for that matter. It always did him good to be observant, cautious, and aware of his surroundings.
But while in most cases this trait of his was a good thing, it sometimes proved to be a bad thing as well. Especially now.
Midoriya was feeling uneasy this whole past week. He didn’t know why. Maybe it was his constant awareness finally getting the better of him, he wasn’t sure. But for the past week, he felt as if someone was watching him, which was absolutely ridiculous, in his opinion. If someone were watching him, they would have made a move by now, and so far, nothing has happened. And besides, none of his friends or teachers noticed, and they were brought up to be just as observant, if not more, than him.
So it shouldn’t have been a big deal, right?
But it had happened too often over the past week.

Midoriya stood up abruptly, stretching his sore limbs before quietly heading out of his dorm room to the common rooms to make himself a cup of tea. Maybe that would help ease his nerves and get his study drive going for the night. He could get a snack too while he was at it.
However, as he came back up to his room, the warm cup of tea and a bag of chips in his hand, he came to a stop. His eyes widened, his heartbeat sped up and he felt like his world was going to a complete and utter halt. He was about to scream at the top of his lungs but found the will not to, focusing more on stabilizing his hold on the tray in his hands.
And the reason for his sudden action?
Because someone was in his room, reading his secret notebook.
And he never wanted to scream so loud in his life.

a/n: Feels good to be back to writing here~ As promised, this sequel part is the day after the first part.  Am I sorry for my first post after hiatus being angst? Not really, whoops 😉.  Enjoy suffering~
Todoroki didn’t know what kind of dream that was; it was too realistic for him to categorize it with his other dreams.  He even began to doubt that it even was just a figment of his imagination.  Normally, the images in his head would be too abstract and scattered to remember all the details; although still spotty and scattered, the images his mind had conjured up were too defined than anything he’d experienced before.  Even the kiss felt irresistibly real, and he wondered how his inexperienced mind conjured such a sweet taste.  In a way, he was disappointed that his mind dangled such an opportunity over his head teasingly.
“I have feelings for you.”
As Todoroki opened his refrigerator to look for some breakfast, he frowned to himself.  The images held a strangely incomplete weight to it, something he can’t put his finger on.  The entire scenario seemed like call to action in disguise for some unknown reason.  Perhaps this was his sign that he should seize the opportunity, take matters into his own hands, make his dream a reality.  The powers at be were giving him the green light; this was some divine signal that his confession would be reciprocated and he has nothing to fear.
His heart skipped a beat and his cheeks rushed with heat at the thought of his reality aligning with his inner fantasy, the memory of your soft lips ghosting over his.  It seemed too good to be true, but still somehow within his reach.
Fueled by this affirmative omen, he decided to pay you a visit after breakfast for a coffee date.
~
Todoroki pulled his scarf slightly looser as he entered your apartment building, his body temperature suddenly warmer.  Numerous times on the walk over did he have to remind himself of why he was here, the light that was mostly likely waiting for him at the end.  Picturing your smiling face and how precious you would be standing with him kept his feet moving.  If he didn’t take advantage of this sudden flash of confidence today, he couldn’t be confident that it would strike him again.
He called the elevator and took another calming breath.  The doors opened almost immediately and he stepped in.  In a daze, Todoroki pushed the button to your floor, his mind palace painting lovely images of you two going on casual dates strolling through the park, having fun at amusement parks, and cuddling under the stars.  He almost missed the desperate call of someone rushing towards him.
"Hold the door!”
He snapped out of his daze and pushed the open button right before the steel doors shut.  The breathless figure stumbled in, heaving for breath.  "Thank you- Oh, Todoroki.“  The figure straightened up.
Todoroki bowed his head briefly in greeting.  "Good morning.”  He recognized them as your close friend whom you talked fondly about often.
Their eyes flickered to the button for your floor that’s already illuminated as the doors shut.  "Here to see (Y/n)?“ they asked cheerily.
"Yes, just to visit,” he responded vaguely.  "I haven’t seen them in a while, I thought I would drop by.“
"I’m sure they would appreciate that,” the shorter friend smiled.  "Especially since they need help cleaning today, they would love the extra set of hands.“  They checked their phone.  "I wonder what suddenly got into them that they decided to message me at almost 3 last night.”
“Yeah, I came at 3 am to confess to you, I’m sorry.”
His clock in his dream and your words flashed through his mind and he cocked an eyebrow to himself before shrugging it off as a strange coincidence.  In regard to your friend’s words, he decided to rework his plan.  He didn’t mind helping you clean your place.  It would make his request to take you out to coffee afterwards more natural as a job well done for cleaning.
The elevator opened on your floor.  "They must be sleeping still, they didn’t answer my text.”  The two of them approached your door and the friend knocked.  "(Y/n)!  Wakey wakey!  Your cleaning crew has arrived!“  Without waiting for an answer, they lifted the doormat to retrieve the spare key hiding under it, unlocking the door and bursting in.
As they announced their arrival, Todoroki closed the door behind him and removed his shoes and quietly took in your home.  He smiled to himself because the atmosphere and decorations remind him of you.
”(Y/n), come on!  Get up!“  Your friend quickly slipped off their shoes and coat, messily throwing them onto your couch before dashing straight to your room.
Todoroki hung back instead, opting to stroll around your living room instead.  It’s not his first time here, but he didn’t think you were close enough to enter your room so brazenly; he respected your privacy.  He occupied himself with rehearsing how he would confess his feelings to you.  He wanted to make it as earnest but smooth as possible.  Should he take your hand when he’s done?  Should you be walking around or remain inside the coffee shop when he says his piece?  There were so many options, but he wanted to make that moment as perfect as possible because you deserved nothing less.
"Todoroki!  Come over here!”
The alarm in your friend’s voice prompted him into action.  All his thoughts scattered into incoherent fear.  What in the world could’ve happened?  He didn’t know.
Todoroki burst into the room and wildly surveyed the scene.  Your friend stood frozen over your bed where you lay, but something seemed off.  Why would you be sleeping over your sheets and blanket?
“I-I came to wake them up, they didn’t respond to me calling them- When I went to shake them, they-they-”  They stepped back before knocking into the desk.
Todoroki’s mind raced with a thousand thoughts, none of them pleasant.  A shaky hand hesitantly grazed the crook of your neck and his breath stalled.
You were cold.
He drew his hand back, refusing to believe any of this.  His world suddenly spun on its head.  How could you be-?
The rest of his dream echoed in his mind.
“I have to tell you something It can’t wait until morning.”
"I didn’t want to leave without finally saying this to you.”
He stumbled back a few steps as he remembered you suddenly vaulting off his balcony.
Your friend sank to the floor, clutching a paper and envelope, body wracked with a sudden onset of sobs as they cried your name.  "(Y/n)!  T-They’re gone!“
The pieces finally click together, Todoroki’s body grows cold.  Last night was no dream, it was your final goodbye to him.
That was your goodbye kiss to him.
It was his turn to fall to the floor, shudders wracking his body as his throat threatened to close because of the sobs welling up inside him.  The sweet kiss he savored only a minute before suddenly tasted bitter, the future he’d built up for you two ripped away from him.  Todoroki fell apart to the feeling of guilt, regret, anger, misery, distress, and so many other ineffable emotions.  Various self-loathing what-if’s and if-only’s consumed him.
Todoroki couldn’t bear to see your face; even if he wanted to, his body shuddered too much to move and his tears blinded him.  His heartbeat nearly deafened him as your friend read your note aloud as their voice broke and wailed.  He felt cheated by fate.  He refused to believe this was when you were meant to depart, not when he’d experienced just a few seconds of the bliss of you two being together, regretting that he hadn’t acted on his feelings sooner and stupidly believed he was sleeping during your final moment together.
Never again would he indulge in your cheerful expressions, your endearing mannerisms, your sweet voice.  You now only lived in his memories and in his dreams, as you’d never live in his reality anymore.

a/n: Really proud of this one, I really like it and I hope you guys do too.
The figure looms over you, its shadowy silhouette casting the room in darkness against the moonlight streaming through your window.  At first, you figured it was a thief or murderer breaking in; anyone else would have concluded the same judging from the dark clothes and intimidating demeanor.
That is, until you realize the massive shadow blocking out all the light is due to a pair of overarching, feathery wings.
Your mouth can’t help gaping open as you jolt up in bed.  There’s a supernatural creature visiting you at what you assume is an ungodly hour of the night.  The thick grey wings retract into their back, allowing you view of their entire physique as the moonlight rushes back into your room, no longer restricted.
The figure appears human, their white cloak’s hood settles over squared shoulders and hips of roughly the same width.  Their hair cropped short and the rest of their features remain androgynous.  You should be scared of the intruder, but something about their serene expression and inexplicably calm aura dispels any tension in the room.
“My child, forgive me for disturbing you,” their airy voice is just as serene as their appearance, a gentle fingers barely ghosting your cheek, “But I’m afraid your time has come.”
Your eyes widen.  "M-My time?  As in…“
They nod slowly, the hand cool hand trailing down to gingerly take your hand.  "It is sudden, but to compensate, you are allowed half an hour to do as you please.”
It’s expected that being told you’re going to die would send cold down your spine and threaten your entire being, your body shivering as your mind tries to comprehend what exactly it means to cease to exist.  While it does happen, you’re calm and collected, smiling at the messenger.  "I’m thankful for the warning.  At least I won’t have to leave without preparations.“
Your mind is surprisingly rational in the face of an earth-shattering reality, you’re unsure if it’s because of the influence of the angel or your complete blind acceptance of fate - you hope it’s the latter.
You begin your preparations.  The first thing you do is gather as many letters and envelopes as you have in your room.  Each one is addressed to those dear to you: to your closest friend and loving family members.  Pouring your most genuine feelings out into each of these makes your only slightly regretful that you might not have showered them with enough love in your life this far, but at this point you can only hope your affections shine through in your last moments, and that the thought of you writing your last words to them in your dying breaths will hold more weight.
Next, you pull out your bank card and all the money you have stashed in an extraneous corner of your sweater drawer.  Dividing it into two even piles; one goes into the envelope for your parents and the other for your closest friend.  In the envelope for your parents, you also include your bank card and the PIN, along with the trust that they’ll know how to divide the money in the bank - though you very strongly suggest the idea of them taking much needed vacation for themselves.  To your friend, you also include a list of all your social media and email accounts connected to friends you can only talk to and not meet face to face, mandate that they split this money between the other friends who need it most, that you trust their judgment, and also to spare some for themselves.
Finishing all the writing, the weight on your shoulders slowly lifts, as if releasing all your affections on paper is a much needed therapy.  You try not to think of the possibility that it might just be your soul slowly disconnecting from your body.
"What will they think I died from?” you ask curiously, placing the envelopes face up on your desk.
The angel - who has been patiently watching your tranquil planning from afar - blinks.  "They will think you simply died in your sleep.
“I see.”
The only remaining preparation in your home was to leave your apartment key under the mat in front of your door.  You send a text to that same closest friend to come by in the morning to help clean, and if you didn’t answer the door to use the spare key under the mat.
All of this took up a 25 minutes of your remaining time.  However, there is one more person you couldn’t stop thinking about as your time of expiration looms closer and closer.  You turn to your companion.  "Would you mind teleporting me somewhere?  There’s one last person I need to see.“
~
Three raps on the balcony door was all it took for you to see movement in the bedroom.   The lump rolls over, a head peaks out from under the blanket, first checking the time then lifting up to face the window.  Bicolored hair is illuminated as the figure slowly retreats from the bed, clad in nothing but dark sweatpants.
Your heart pounds and your stomach churns, the normal reaction that he elicits out of you whenever you’re near him.
The boy rubs his eyes and blinks the sleep away, focusing on your waiting figure.  He opens the balcony door full of confusion.  ”(Y/n)?  Why are you here?  It’s 3 am.“  His voice is as gravelly as you’ve only imagined hearing it being, thought you usually picture him greeting you in the morning after sleeping next to him.
Anticipation wells up inside you.  Up to this point, you had no problem spilling your deepest thoughts to your loved ones, but something about him had always made you think twice before showing any sort of affection.  Call it a force of habit, but you’ve never wanted him to know about your crush on him since you wanted to preserve your friendship and keep your relationship from becoming awkward around your mutual friends.
But you have nothing to lose at this point; might as well cross this final what-if off your list in your last few minutes.  "I know it’s late, Todoroki, but I have to tell you something  It can’t wait until morning.”
He sighs heavily and leans against the door frame.  "I’m listening.“
You use the ever-lightening weight you feel unraveling within you as strength to call upon.   "I have feelings for you.”
The boy’s expression doesn’t change after you’ve ripped the bandage off, his stoic expression still in tact.
You can’t help but let out a puff of laughter.  "You’re the only person I’ve met who I can confidently say I’ve imagined waking up next to.  I always thought we would’ve been compatible as a couple, we would’ve been happy together.  Your calm nature, your quiet power and charisma, your heart, I did fall for all of it.  And… I didn’t want to leave without finally saying this to you.“
This is your first confession.  Every other crush you had, you let pass you by without so much as a word or hint.  But now, you’ve run out of time to hide it.  In a way, you’re grateful for the pressure to finally overcome your fear of rejection, but only regretful that it came under these circumstances.  If he rejects you now, it doesn’t matter.
But Todoroki’s response was unreadable, the only display of feeling being his slightly widened eyes.
Your face gets hot and you laugh to cover it up.  "Yeah, I came at 3 am to confess to you, I’m sorry.”  Your eyes flicker to the clock on his bedside table, the time telling you that you have barely two minutes to wrap this up.  Behind you, the angel makes its presence known by gingerly touching their hand to your shoulder.  "I need to be going now.“
You’re about to leave the balcony when another stroke of bravery crosses your mind.  Squarely facing him, you grip his neck and tug him closer until your lips meet gently as you’ve dreamed of on many occasions, though the burst of electricity that erupts between you two is indescribably better than what you’ve imagined.
Todoroki’s hand reaches to meet your wrist just as you pull back to rest your forehead against his.  You want to laugh; such a blissful feeling was waiting for you this entire time where you could’ve had endless kisses like these, but you have to be satisfied with just the one as it’s the only one you’re getting.  You almost forgot that you have to part ways with him forever now.  Still, it’s a perfect way to die, you think in bittersweet parting sorrow.
You step away from him for his tether on your arm to keep you still.  He finally exhibits emotion: desperation and hunger for another one, mixed with fear as he acknowledges there must be something amiss.  "Don’t go,” he pleads, as if this is the last time he sees you.  Little did he know it would be.
You give him one last smile.  "Goodnight, Todoroki.  Thank you.“  Your body is feather light now, your time whittling away to the final seconds.  Without a second thought, you let go and fling yourself off the balcony.
In the blink of an eye, you’re back in your familiar room, laying in your bed.  The conflicting sensation of a heavy body but weightless inside overtakes you, and you know it’s time.  The lingering aftermath of your final kiss still on your lips, you smile to yourself.  If your soul can remember memories, you hope this feeling remains permanently engraved in them.  "I’m ready to go.”  Your eyes flutter closed and you breathe out, your terminal exhale coming with the tingle of a thin thread gently unraveling its last fibers.
A faraway caress is your final feeling.
“Rest now, my child.”

If you had to pinpoint the exact moment your life went to the dogs, it would’ve had to have been that miserably failed mission during your internship at Endeavor Agency. You were a promising second-year student at U.A, and as a result, you’d been selected to intern at the agency of your childhood hero, Endeavor. What should have been a dream come true, however, quickly turned into a nightmare thanks to your upperclassman and son of said hero, Shoto Todoroki.
During a particularly hectic day, the two of you had been sent out to deal with a situation Burnin described as ‘easier than rolling off a log’—which is exactly how it would have been if Todoroki hadn’t forgotten to drink his ‘respect women juice’ that morning. He spent the entire day criticizing and underestimating your abilities to the point of shoving you aside. Needless to say, you weren’t thrilled about being demoted to an annoying bystander by a fellow U.A student, and your anger got the best of you. It was then that the mission went to shit with the two of you too preoccupied in arguing and trying to one-up each other. In the end, the only thing proved was your inability to work as a team that resulted in a handful of injured civilians, a mob of outraged bystanders, and the villains escaping.
As if the shame of failing a simple rescue mission wasn’t enough, you were also the victim of blatant nepotism when you alone bore the brunt of the aftermath, as was decided by one Enji Todoroki. You didn’t hesitate to quit your internship after the brief but stifling press conference at the agency’s headquarters. You then went home to shred—not burn—the one Endeavor poster you kept hung inside the door of your wardrobe closet.
What you hoped would be the last of your involvement with the Endeavor Agency turned out to only be the beginning. After suffering that devastating blow to your reputation, you were fortunate enough to get signed by a small hero agency after graduation. Over the course of four years, you worked hard alongside your coworkers and president to transform your little agency into a respectable mid-tier one. Your agency’s growth was a feat you took great pride in, and the fact that it took place amid the monopolization craze of hero agencies, made it that much more significant—or so you thought.
Because just when the craze was dying down, and you sincerely believed your agency had weathered the storm, the president that you’d once considered family ran off with a fat check after selling your agency and its hero contracts to the Endeavor Agency.

You’d heard about the prestigious hero school that was UA. Being a transfer was going to be difficult. You’d taken the written exam before you actually transferred.
You took a rough copy of the physical exam and they’d stated that they’d love to have you at UA. You were excited, yet extremely terrified.
- - -
Class 1-A was in your sight. And thankfully, you were being escorted than none other than All Might himself. You were on the verge of panicking but for the sake of keeping composure, you sucked it in.
“You’re going to do fantastic here, kid!” All Might smiled.
Class 1-A was just chattering amongst one another currently.
“What’s everyone talking about?” Midoriya asked Uraraka.
“Apparently, according to Mina, we’re getting a transfer student!”
Todoroki’s head shot up. The word of a transfer student piquing his interest. It seemed almost rare to see a transfer student, as they had no real way of taking the entrance exams unless they’d taken them elsewhere.
Which in this case, was exactly what happened.
“I hope it’s a girl!” Uraraka smiled, looking at the door, waiting for any sign of movement.
“No matter who it is, I’m still gonna show them who’s number one in this class.” Bakugou muttered, resting his head in his hand.
“Alright settle down.” Mr. Aizawa called out to the class, the class grew quiet.
The door almost fell off its hinges from the force used to open it.
“I should use less strength opening this door next time.” All Might laughed quietly.
“Ah, Mr. Aizawa, this is your newest student, I’m pleased to welcome miss (f/n) (l/n)!” All Might gave you a gentle nudge forward, guiding you to face the class.
Todoroki wasn’t the one to blush, but he couldn’t help but think you were attractive. The way your (h/c) locks fell softly on your shoulders, or how your (e/c) eyes seemed to glisten under the fluorescent lights.
“Hi.” You waved. A few students smiled and waved back, while a few, mainly one perky-haired blonde, groaned.
“Thanks All Might.” Mr. Aizawa nodded, watching as he left.
“Introduce yourself, I’ll give you a few minutes.” Your teacher, Mr. Aizawa zipped himself up into what looked like a sleeping bag.
“Uhm, my names (f/n) (l/n), I’m a transfer student from (h/p) and my quirk is (y/q).” You introduced yourself, locking eyes with a half-white, half-red haired boy.
Your breath hitched in your throat, but you disguised it by looking away.
“Thank you, take a seat.” Mr. Aizawa de-cocooned himself, standing up in front of the class.
“We’ll be doing another physical test today, followed by a short assessment, nothing too draining.” He instructed. You walked toward the back of the classroom, sitting behind the boy you’d locked eyes with.
He turned slightly and glanced at you before turning back around. Hopefully, you’d be able to consider him a friend soon.
- - -
“The new transfer student is crazy talented.” Mina gushed, watching as you used your quirk to pass the physical test. The group standing around Mina would agree that you were very good at what you were doing.
“She’s very in control, and seems to understand how to use all of her quirk’s abilities.” Shoto appeared out of nowhere.
“Jeez! Shoto! We need to put a bell on you.” Mina laughed.
“Shoto, I don’t think I’ve heard you say something like that before.” Kirishima teased.
“I’ve said it, just not to you.” Shoto remarked, wearing a sly smile.
“Hey!” Kirishima laughed. Todoroki looked over at you and watched as you bested the test in front of you.
It seemed too easy almost. Or at least to you. Maybe it was just easy and progressively the tests would get harder. But alas, you finished with a high score, almost beating Bakugou, who you’d learned to be the blonde kid who seemed irritated by your arrival.
When the physical tests were finished, you all headed inside to do your assessment.
And you managed to come out on top this time, Bakugou scoring one below you, and a kid named Todoroki, who was the kid who sat in front of you, coming in third.
It wasn’t any sort of special assessment, just something to prove your knowledge in written form.
- - -
“(l/n), right?” Todoroki turned to face you.
“Yup.” You smiled, looking at the cute boy in front of you.
“You did really good out there today.” Todoroki complimented you.
“Thanks, you did really good too, and it’s Shoto, Todoroki right?” You made sure you had the right person in mind.
“You got it.” Shoto’s lips almost smiled. It must’ve been something he did rarely. You could almost see him fighting the urge to smile.
The corners of his lips were perked upward, but his lips stayed almost straight.
“If you’re not busy I could help you catch up, but I understand, we’re practically strangers.” Shoto offered. You’d missed a few lessons, and needed some notes to catch up, maybe taking his offer wouldn’t be so bad.
You might get to know about him more too. Why not?
“I’d like that actually, uhm, meet in the Library later?” You spoke softly.
“Library closes early today, some sort of faculty meeting, I can come to your dorm.” Shoto informed you. You nodded and pulled out a sheet of paper.
“About that, could you help me find it?” You said quietly, almost embarrassed. Todoroki’s eyes widened ever so slightly, the blush from earlier creeping back onto his cheeks.
You weren’t even trying to be cute, or funny, he was genuinely interested in you. And he was curious to know more about you.
- - -
“Here are the notes from the past few lessons, you really didn’t miss much, just the basics really, but it never hurts to go over them.” Shoto handed you his notebook. It was a maroon color, and had the title of the class labeled in the corner in small black marker.
“You have really amazing handwriting.” You complimented, looking up at him with a smile.
“T-Thanks.” Shoto stuttered. He smiled, but you’d looked away when he did it.
He watched as you scribbled down the notes, making little side notes on things you didn’t quite understand.
- - -
You hadn’t even realized how much time had passed. You’d talked with Shoto more, getting to know him and catching up with topics learned in class.
It was when you yawned that you realized it was pretty late.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to keep you up so late.” You apologized, packing your things back into your bag.
“It’s alright, besides, I’m glad I could help out, and get to know you. You have a lot of potential.” Shoto spoke softly, handing you your notebook.
“Thanks.” You blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Until next time.” Shoto waved, heading out of your dorm. You were excited to see him the following morning, and unknown at the time, the following afternoon when you’d sit with him at lunch.

Every Comic Has A Story
Tomura Shigaraki x Reader
Warnings: softboi shiggy, fluff, swearing
Summary: When Japan’s most dangerous villain meets a witty and flirty comic store clerk.
Tumblr media
The mall was unsurprisingly packed, as it was the weekend. Everyone had something to do or somewhere to go. Shopping for items, chatting with friends. Not for Shigaraki though.
After his tight encounter with Midoriya, he walked the crowded mall all alone, stuck in his own thoughts. How could he become stronger? To become better than Stain? To defeat All Might? His thoughts would be dispersed when a loud angry voice boomed from his right side.
“How many times do I gotta tell you kids? This stuff is 18+!” Shigaraki turned his attentive gaze towards your voice, a voice that could instantly gain anyone’s attention. Well, aside from how loud it was. He slowly walked into the store, staring at a messy rack full of comics but secretly eavesdropping on the conversation.
“Ma’am, I’m 18! See?” The boy handed you an ID card, one that instantly made you aware of how fake it was. The card was poorly constructed and taped for crying out loud. “You all look 12. Now get lost before I call one of those bad guys to come down and beat your asses.” The boys ran out of the shop in a hurry, fearing for their lives. You turned your attention to the new customer who wore his black sweater a bit too suspiciously. “Aye, you.”
Shigaraki calmly turned his head towards your direction. He was sure to cover his face, hanging his head down low. “You’re lookin’ hella suspicious. Did you come here to shoplift?” He stood in his place, squinting his eyes at the ground. Were you always this talkative and annoying? “Are you profiling me?”
You were taken aback by his response, moving your hands and shaking your head frantically. “Uh, no. Not at all. Sorry.” His face filled with annoyance, moving to grab a random comic and walking to your counter. You glanced at the book he chose, ‘Pretty Princess Diaries’. A giggle couldn’t help but escape your lips, causing Shigaraki to grow more agitated. You reached under the counter and grabbed a more suitable comic for him. “I think you’d enjoy this better. It’s about the psychology of the villain, Memphis, and how he defeats the heroes.”
There was no reason as to why he even stepped foot in the comic store but this was perfect for Shigaraki. It would give him many ideas and ways to help in the current situation he was in. However, he wasn’t willing to pay the price. “I don’t feel like buying this.” He began to lower his final finger on the cover page, ready to deteriorate it. That way, you’d be frightened by him. “Oh, don’t worry. It’s on the house.”
He removed his entire hand completely away from the comic, watching you take it and place it in a white bag. Confusion was the only emotion he was feeling. You handed him the bag with a smile. Even though you could barely see his face, he strongly caught your interest. He looked mysterious and interesting. Or maybe you’ve just been reading too many romance themes. “If you like it, come back and get the next one.”
Shigaraki looked at you with disgust, fully aware of the love eyes you sent him. He mumbled a quick “sure” and left the store, hoping to never step foot inside ever again.
When he got back from the long travel, he tossed the bag to the side and slumped on his cold bed. He glanced at the plastic bag before pulling out the comic and taking a long look at it. A dark matte cover, red cheapfire font imprinted in the center, and underneath was the main villain. Shigaraki had nothing else better to do so he decided to read only a bit of it. Going from one page, to thirteen, to forty, until it reached the end. He wasn’t aware but it was already 4am in the morning.
Shigaraki entered the store, the same place he refused to step foot in again. He placed the white bag on the counter, setting his empty hands back in his pockets. “I need the next one.” You could barely understand him through his mumbling, causing you to lean in closer. You noticed a few of his hidden features. His fragile face, chapped lips. Chapped lips?
“Nah, what you really need is some chapstick for those crusty ass lips.” You grabbed your cherry lip balm from your purse, holding it out to him with a wink. “You can have mine. It’s my favourite flavour.” Shigaraki snatched the item from your hand, shoving it in his pocket with a huff of annoyance. Your flirtatious presence really started to get on his nerves.
This would be his last visit to you and he couldn’t wait to leave but then, a thought popped off in his head. He needed a pawn to do his dirty work. The work that he nor his group could carry out due to the huge attention it would gain. He needed someone who was as easy as you. “You know, you’re quite a view.”
You raised a brow, not expecting the sudden compliment. “Oh, thanks.” Shigaraki wasn’t the best at flirting but he needed to try in order to fully wield you in. “When’s your lunch break?” You sat straighter in your chair, a smile slowly forming across your face. You weren’t really sure when but you knew your friend would cover your shift if he knew about the situation. “I can end now. Eijiro!” You called in the back room. “I need you to cover my shift please.”
Without even waiting for a response, you grabbed your purse and stood beside an irritated Shigaraki. He didn’t expect to be hanging out with you so soon and wasn’t fully mentally prepared for your excessive energy. It was going to be a long dreadful day.
You both sat on the edge of the water fountain, ice cream in hand. It had only been an hour and Shigaraki was ready to end himself. You gladly licked your ice cream while he sat still, staring at you. Everything about you annoyed him. The way you sat perfectly under the mall sunroof or how graceful you looked eating your ice cream. You took notice of the way his pinky extended away from his cone. “What are you, British?” You pointed at his finger, causing him to look down at it. “I don’t think all British people do that.”
You shrugged your shoulders, standing up from your spot. He followed your movements, his height causing him to look down on you. You embraced him in a tight hold, feeling the rigidness of his body. “I had a great time. By the way, what’s your name?”
He wasted no time in saying his name, incapable of standing your presence any longer. “Shigaraki.” Finally, you’d regret spending the day with him and leave him alone. You stood there silent in confusion, resting a finger on your chin. “Huh, like the villain?” Holy shit, this girl was dumber than he thought. “Anyways I gotta go. Come by tomorrow so we can do this again.” You left him speechless, standing all alone in the middle of the busy mall.
He was sure of giving up. You weren’t worth all the mental suffering but here he was with you again, walking around the same mall. Earlier, he had mentioned how he hated holding hands so instead, you linked your arm with his while he had his hands in his pockets. The big advertisement sign of skincare caught your attention, stopping you in your tracks and making him do the same. “Look Shigz, we should go in. You need that.”
You looked up at him with a cheeky smile, causing him to groan in revulsion. He wasn’t sure why he was going along with it. Applying chapstick was enough for him but to you, if it worked on his lips, it would definitely work on his face.
He noticed all the skin products on display, walking down the extremely bright aisle. He heard his nickname being called and turned around, feeling your soft hands rub against his face. “You said you had a skin condition so the employee recommended me this.” Shigaraki watched as you ran your fingers from his face, all the way down to his neck. He never recalled feeling another human’s touch in such a caring way.
You both made your way towards the counter, paying for the product and leaving. To his surprise, he actually bought the cream. The very first time in his life, he actually bought something instead of stealing it. You were a bad influence on him and his work and he needed nothing more than to depart from you.
“Shit, it’s almost time for my shift.” You stood on your tippy toes, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek before steadily jogging off. “I’ll see you soon!” Never in his life had he been given such affection. Shigaraki touched the area of where your lips had kissed with delicate fingers.
That night, he tossed and turned in his bed, struggling to find sleep. You were an internal battle to him. On one side, he hated your guts and wanted nothing more than to escape from you. On the other, he hated to say it but he enjoyed your company. The way you made him feel something he’d never felt in all his years of living. He decided at that moment, he’d confess to you. No, nothing romantic in any way but strictly his identity. The identity that you somehow failed to process.
“What do you mean she doesn’t work here?” The next day, Shigaraki stepped foot in the comic shop, only to be told you weren’t there. The new clerk adjusted his glasses. “I’m sorry, sir. You’re gonna have to describe her.” A now frustrated Shigaraki grew heavily impatient, not having the time to deal with this. He realized he never asked for your name, a stupid rookie mistake he made. “She’s this short, (y/h/c) hair, (y/e/c) eyes, a little slow, annoying, and dumb.”
The man shook his head with a puzzled face. “I’m sorry but I just started working here and I don’t know much of who works here.” Shigaraki scratched his neck, seconds away from decaying him but restraining himself. “What’s the point of asking me that question then?”
He walked out of the store defeated. Shockingly, he didn’t reach over the counter to kill the goof. You really were a bad influence on him. A moment of walking later, he felt a tap on his shoulder. “Shigz.”
He recognized the fine voice all too clearly. He started to broil in anger. In a matter of seconds, he quickly spun around to face you. “Where were you? I tried visiting you and you weren’t there.” You were astounded, never witnessing Shigaraki this mad before. Usually, he was calm and quiet. “I quit my job. They weren’t paying good.”
He closed his eyes, letting the stress leave his body. “Listen closely.” He opened his red eyes which met yours. In that instant, he wasn’t sure what to say. He wanted to express how he felt but his feelings were too complicated and corrupted. “Like I said, I’m Tomura Shigaraki. The leader of the League of Villains.”
“Uh, yeah. You already told me.” He paused in perplexity, having the inability to speak or understand the situation. What did you mean you already knew? For the longest time, he thought you weren’t the brightest and he was okay with that. You began to laugh, trying to maintain it with a hand clasped on your mouth. “Did you really think I didn’t know? It was pretty obvious, Shigz. I just wanted to get to know you as you. Not how everyone sees you.”
He stood motionless feeling flabbergasted, allowing you to grab onto his arm. “I never asked you for your name.” If he never mentioned it, you’d had completely forgotten about it. “(Y/n).”
“(Y/n)” He trailed in a slight whisper, repeating after you. “Why don’t I take you on a proper date?”
With the biggest smile that warmed Shigaraki’s cold heart, you held him in closer.
“I would like that a lot.”

Girl, That’s Not Me
Tomura Shigaraki x F!Reader
Warnings: fluff, spoilers for chapter 270, spoilers for Heroes Rising, angst
Description: Meeting you during a lookout wasn’t something Shigaraki planned on doing.
I couldn’t think of a title so I just used my fav line from Drama by Drake and Roy Woods lmao.
Tumblr media
From the edge of the steep cliff, a lone Shigaraki looked down menacingly at the winged hero beneath him. His attention on Hawks, however, would soon be cut short.
Blocks away from the horrific disaster was a beautiful woman elegantly seated on a bench, feeding the group of white doves below her. The way her soft hair and white silky dress flowed through the wind in sync was almost unreal. The whole scene was unreal.
Somehow, amid the cataclysm of fire and flames was the sight of a goddess. The burnt buildings, flashing ambulances, and audible firetrucks were the background and you were the main focal point that Shigaraki couldn’t help but admire.
Your bag of breadcrumbs was now empty and you watched as the doves flapped their wings away into the sky. It wasn’t that you weren’t aware of your current surroundings. It was just that you chose to ignore it. Your eyes roamed around the area until it was set on Shigaraki who shamefully looked away. He walked into a black mist, fully disappearing and you couldn’t help but wonder who he was or why he was staring at you.
It had been long hours since Shigaraki last saw you and his mind was merely focused on the thought of you. Something about you was just so intriguing that he couldn’t help but want to relive the moment. But he had no time for distractions. His present goal was to confront Nine.
Shigaraki was teleported to an open field, the dark black mist that once surrounded him now reducing into air. He approached the weakened man, latching all five fingers onto his face and watching him disappear into dust. Shigaraki backed away, ready to get sent back to his next location until he saw someone. Even though he could only see the back of the figure, he knew your body too well to know it was you.
You sat on the meadow with your legs bent to the side, a finger raised to hold a white dove as many more surround you. He took careful steps towards you, stopping a few meters away. The distance didn’t secure his cover, as you were already aware of his company. You let the dove fly away, watching it leave with the rest of the pack. “So, we meet again.”
“Are you following me?”
“I should be asking you the same thing.”
You pushed yourself up and faced him, slowly walking a few steps closer. You took him in, as he did the same with you. Shigaraki thought he was hallucinating. The way your soft eyes glimmered at him, the way your hair and long exquisite dress danced through the wind, and the way the pink flower pedal’s streamed behind you was surreal. It was like a fantasy he was living in. A cliché romantic scene from a movie almost.
The smile on your face made Shigaraki’s heart tug and you raised a hand at him. He wasn’t exactly sure what you were trying to imply but he slowly made his way to you, placing four fingers on yours. You glanced down at his unsteady hand then back to him. “You can trust me.” After a moment of hesitation, he rested his last finger onto yours and to his surprise, your body was not affected in any way. You gave him a chance and he let you in.
Shigaraki was never alone after that. Wherever he went, he’d always be accompanied by you. You never left his side. It would get in the way of his work, as you’d try to prevent him from causing any severe harm or damage to others. He would still carry on with his daily routines, only minimalizing a bit of his full potential.
After forming the Paranormal Liberation Front, Doctor Ujiko promised Shigaraki that he could grow even stronger through a complex surgery. You were told that the process would last up to four months and would be indescribably painful. But the end results could potentially make Shigaraki even stronger than All For One. This was exactly what he wanted but for you, you disagreed with the idea completely. It could cause him immense pain and you couldn’t go through with that. But he could and he did. There was no talking him out of it and you were forced to give up.
Every single day, from morning to night, you’d watch over Shigaraki, locked in his glass container and hooked to a series of tubes and wires. You rested your palm on the cold glass from the opposite side of Shigaraki, wishing to take all his pain away. His eyes and body rested softly within the waters. You’ve never seen him look so at peace and it made you slightly happy. The scene made you trace away from the chaos outside of the location. Away from the disruption between Present Mic, Kyudai, and X-less a few meters behind you.
Inside Shigaraki’s mind, he was surrounded by several large hands and pieces of buildings. The sound of a little girl’s voice caught his attention and he later realized it was his sister. She told him that she was on his side and apologized for the past. More of his memories started to resurface, a larger version of his mother worried about his eyes and a larger version of his father yelling furiously at him.
Out of nowhere, a shadowy version of All For One appeared before him, telling him to come with him. As he goes to walk, his family reappears, stopping him and grabbing him in the same areas that he had placed their hands on originally. He ignored their pleads, letting them disappear into nothing. Another interruption stopped him from inching closer to All For One but this time, it was in the hands of someone he truly cared for.
He came to a cease, feeling your arms wrapped around his torso and your head resting on his bare back. You pulled yourself closer to him and tightly squeezed your eyes shut. “Please don’t go.”
“But I have to.”
Your grip slowly loosened, desperately trying to find a way to gain him back. “This isn’t you, Tomura.”
“But it is.”
Another failed attempt and his tone started to grow less without care and more monotonous. “You thought about what life would’ve been like with a loving family. If you left everything behind and we lived happily together. Isn’t that what you wanted?”
“Yes, but you’re not real.”
You slowly released him, backing away from his body. He refused to look at you as your body slowly started to crumble. “You’re just a pure imagination created in my mind.”
You wanted to scream at him. To tell him he was wrong. But he was right and telling you the truth. Would you have guessed that the most villainous person could be the most loneliest? You were just there because he needed to feel comfort and to feel loved. Everything he couldn’t get growing up. It started to make sense to you. You knew nothing of your past. Everyone had ignored you, not because they hated you, but because they couldn’t see you. You weren’t real.
From the beginning, he convinced himself that you were alive, wanting to believe that it couldn’t just be a coincidence. But as time went on, he gradually had to accept the harsh reality. All good things come to an end.
“Goodbye, (Y/n).”
Tears fall from your face as you slip into oblivion. Before disappearing, your crumbling face watched the man who you thought loved you walk over to the darkness, embracing the path of villainy.

"Oh my GOSH Y/N!!" Fuyumi practically screamed in your face, making you shrink back in fear.
"Does it look really bad?!" You frantically questioned her, looking down at the lacey, white dress that adorned your frame. "Y/N, you're obviously drop dead gorgeous. Shoto is a very lucky man."
The butterflies in your stomach almost exploded out of you at Fuyumi's comment, carefully turning to see yourself in the mirror with the help of your trusty maid of honor.
"This is going to be the best wedding ever for sure, AHHHH I'M SO EXCITED!" Fuyumi went off in another tirade of squeals and giggles. You shakenly joined her, trying to ignore the nerves building. Who would have thought 4 years after this entire arrangement started, you would actually be marrying someone who loved you. Well….you assumed Shoto loved you. He had never said it to you out loud, but his actions had clearly been communicating he loved you.
...so why were you so damn nervous?
**Meanwhile**
"Well you damn nerd, you ready to get married or whatever?" Bakugo barked over at Shoto who was attaching his cufflink to his sleeve.
"Obviously so, otherwise I wouldn't be going through with it." Shoto calmly replied, no longer phased by Bakugos outbursts. The same couldn't be said for Midoriya, who was cautiously standing near Bakugo, trying to encourage some lighter conversation. "Kacchan, maybe don't call the groom a damn nerd on his wedding day?" He squeaked out, making Bakugo set off firecrackers in his palm, "I'll call him whatever I want, if he's offended by the way I talk he wouldn't have asked me to be in his damn wedding, idiot Deku."
Midoriya nodded along before turning and seeing Shoto's silent form, well, more silent than usual. "Are you okay Todoroki?"
Shoto nodded slowly, looking around like he was confused. "Yes, just nervous is all." He tried to reassure his groomsmen but Bakugo wasn't buying it.
"Hey. What's wrong with you huh? You can't be nervous, you just said you loved her and you're not nervous." The angry man paused at the surprised look the groom was sporting. "What the hell?"
"I haven't told her I love her." Shoto practically whispered, the sudden realization blowing his mind.
"Whoa what? Haven't you been together almost 5 years?" Midoriya questioned, his mind working a mile a minute to understand the news.
"Only an Extra like you would come this far and not have the guts to tell your woman you love her." Bakugo scoffed, quickly shoving the groom out of the room, effectively causing Midoriya to panic even more.
"Kacchan stop it! What are you doing?!" "I'm taking him to his woman, he needs to tell her before they get married you damn nerds. It's basic relationship etiquette."
****
You were adjusting your veil when a harsh knock echoed from the door, making you turn in confusion. "Hel-" You went to speak but were interrupted when the door was kicked open by none other than Bakugo. "Bakugo, what are you doing here? Is Shoto okay?" The groomsman scoffed slightly at your question before reaching forward and snatching your hand. You squealed out in surprise as Bakugo dragged you over to the door, stopped right at the doorway before he turned to you. "Alright IcyHot, she's right here."
A familiar hand stuck out from the other side of the door, making Bakugo shove your hand forward while also positioning your back against the wall. "Bad luck to see each other." He commented before swiftly walking out of the room. "Hurry up IcyHot we don't have all day."
"Shoto? What's going on?" You questioned, incredibly confused with the entire situation.
"I realized something." He sounded nervous, which made your nerves kick into hyper gear. 'He's not ready' Your anxiety taunted you. "I've never…..told you. How I feel." He continued, a slight squeeze of your hand told you he knew what you were thinking, and that you needed to just stop thinking and listen.
"I love you. Which I obviously wouldn't be marrying you if I felt any different. But I wanted to say it before we go out there. You deserve that." His voice trembled, and you moved to walk through the doorway.
"No! I want to see you on the aisle, the way we planned." He quickly reassured you. "Shoto Todoroki, you are truly one of a kind. I love you too. Now leave before I walk through the doorway and ruin our plans." You tried to laugh off your own tears, which did not work.
With one more squeeze of the hand, Shoto left to go back to his room with his party. Meanwhile, you confidently finished getting ready, no longer feelings the nerves from before.

“Pro-Hero Shoto, we are happy to inform you that you have been accepted into the Endeavor Pro-Hero Agency-” Shoto folded the paper, quickly putting it back into the envelope before he placed his face in his hands. “Hellooooo, Shoto?” Your voice echoed through the halls, making a smile grace Shoto’s face.
Ever since his father had moved out and left Shoto and his siblings alone, the atmosphere had been different. Everyone, including you, had gotten more comfortable. No one vocalized this change, but everyone noticed it.
Your face quickly popped into view, your eyes narrowing as you caught sight of the young boy on the couch. “Why didn’t you answer me? I know you heard me.” You accusingly questioned as you moved to sit next to Shoto.
“I knew you would find me soon enough.” Shoto smirked at you, making your cheeks redden before your focus turned to the opened envelope on the table. “Oh what’s that?”
Shoto grabbed the envelope before promptly throwing it into the nearby trash, “Just some junk mail.” There was an awkward silence before you cleared your throat. “Okayyy, well I have a question for you. Please don’t get upset, but...we need to talk about the wedding.”
Your heart stopped as Shoto jerked back in shock, making you jerk back as well. “The what?” He shakily asked. “Shoto….The past two years we have gotten super close...and we didn’t meet by accident..” You reasoned out the situation.
“Yes we have gotten close but….Y/N you can’t possibly want to move forward with a forced marriage. I mean we barely know each other.” You felt your eyes start to fill with tears, over the past year you thought that your relationship had grown into something more than just tolerable friends.
“I thought….I thought we did know each other...I mean we have been in each others lives for over 2 years. I have been here during how many life changing moments?” Instead of answering your question, Shoto shot a question back at you, “Why do you want to marry me? Why did you agree to this. If we are so ‘close’ then tell me why.”
You stood up and clasped your hands together to try and hide your shaking hands, “My mother was dying. She was dying, Shoto. We had no money for surgery, and your father came out of nowhere and paid for it. All he asked is that I marry his son to continue the family name in greatness. I didn’t know you, but I knew that you had to be kind if you were the son of the man who saved my mother’s life. So I agreed, and I was immediately brought here to meet you.”
Shoto’s eyes were wide open, trying to meet your gaze as you felt tears slowly fall down your face. “This started as me honoring an agreement, but it has become so much more than that for me. You may not care for me, or want anything to do with me, but I care for you. A lot.” As soon as you finished your speech, you felt a wave of anxiety flow through you. “I….I’m gonna go.”
You turned to leave, but quickly had your arm yanked back as you slammed into Shoto’s chest. “I didn’t know….” He mumbled out, making you turn so your faces were inches apart. “You weren’t supposed to know. I didn’t want this to be about the arrangement, I wanted it to be real. And I thought….I thought it was starting to be.”
“It was….it is.” Shoto stuttered out, making your eyes widen before you leaned in, pressing your lips to his.

Shoto, Arranged Marriage Au Pt.3

Shoto x Reader 3 of 5
Age: 16
It had been a few months since Todoroki was in the hospital from his run in with Hero Killer: Stain. Over the past few weeks there had been small moments where Todoroki actually tolerated your presence, which made your pathetic soul feel complete.
You were currently working in the kitchen to complete a special dinner since today was Class 1A’s provisional licensing exam. Fuyumi had originally planned to cook, but an incident at her mother’s hospital left you to take care of the celebratory dinner, much to your chagrin.
“Fuyumi what if he refuses to eat it?!” You muttered as she grabbed her bag and slipped her shoes on. “He will not! He has been doing much better with you recently. I think his big head has finally realized what a keeper he has! I will see you later tonight ok?” You solemnly nodded as you watched your only ally leave the Todoroki household.
A loud slam broke you from your thoughts, making you quickly scramble to add the finishing touches to the meal before running out to surprise the newly licensed hero. “CONGRATULATIONS!!!” You cheerily yelled before setting off a tiny confetti popper.
***
The last thing Shoto expected to see when he walked in was his arranged wife to be with a confetti popper. Especially without Fuyumi nearby as her support. He stared at her, watching as she quickly shifted into an awkward position.
“Where is Fuyumi?” He questioned, making her eyebrows raise in surprise. “She had to go to the hospital and check on your mom, she’s completely fine! But in the meantime, your special dinner is ready to be eaten! Do you mind if I see your new license?”
It felt like a slap, even though she would never mean to do that. His head lowered slightly before responding, “I didn’t get it.” Shoto shamefully admitted.
There was a beat of silence before he felt a small hand hesitantly on his shoulder, “Well that’s okay! Your class was thrown into the exam a year early right? So I’m sure they will provide ways for you to get it anyway, they would be stupid not to. I mean hello your quirk is amazing!”
Shoto’s mind was reeling, his mind completely filled with the conversation he had with the student from Shiketsu High School. His hatred for his father Endeavor had affected so many people in his surroundings over the past few years. The most obvious being Y/N Y/L/N, yet here she was. Still being caring and compassionate when there was no reason. Shoto felt his heart tug at the thought, and turned his head to face her.
****Y/Ns POV***
The long silence since you had placed a hand on Shoto’s shoulder was eating you alive. But you didn’t want to take your hand away. He was obviously hurting, and you wanted nothing more than to be there to support him. Your eyes nearly popped out of your head as Shoto’s head turned in your direction and blessed you with the most beautiful thing you had ever seen. A smile.
“You’re right, they are going to work with me. I’m going to be taking a remediation class with my other classmate who failed. You said dinners ready right? Did you make it?”
Your voice was quiet as you went to reply, the shock from Shoto’s behavior making you scared to ruin the moment.  “Yea, cold soba. Your favorite right?”
The sudden impact of a body hitting yours almost made you pass out from shock. Your arms were wide open, not knowing what to do with the sudden embrace.
“Thank you….I am sorry for how I’ve treated you…Y/N.” He quietly whispered, the new atmosphere around the both of you caused the hair on your arms to stand up.
“Of course….I forgive you…Shoto."
