Howl truly is the man of all time. He’s a playboy. He’s a malewife. He fell in love with a ninety year old woman. He’s a rugby player. He smells like hyacinths. He’s not a natural blond. When dying his hair went slightly wrong, he filled his home with slime. He has a PhD. He’s a wizard. He found a way to another universe and he told absolutely nobody about it. He makes video games about the magical universe for his nephews. He can’t play the guitar. He always takes a guitar with him when he’s trying to seduce a woman. He’s a self-proclaimed coward. He got drunk to trick himself into doing something dangerous. He overcharges for his services to rich people. He undercharges for his services to poor people. A woman invaded his home and declared herself his cleaning lady and he just let her stay. He loves spiders. He lies about his surname to everyone, including royalty. The true spelling of his first name is Howell, but we don’t find out until halfway through the book because the POV character thinks it’s spelled Howl. He’s even Welsh.

rewatched howl's moving castle (2004) i am so unbelievably unwell

Look, I’m a slut for fictional men and fey princes, but it is now just frankly embarrassing to admit that I am in love with a figment of someone else’s imagination called ‘Wendel Bambleby’, of all things. Like that is crossing some kind of line.

YALL i just finished reading "emily wildes encyclopedia of faeries" and i loved it and it really reminded me of "howl's moving castle" by diana wynne-jones. especially the love interest. nothing beats an egomaniac charming magical long haired blonde man. howl + wendell are such twinsies and i am LOOKING FOR MORE FANTASY/FICTION ROMANCE featuring love interests like them!!!!!! pleasepleasepleaseplease PLEASE send reccs of any similar books that come to mind!!! 😊😊🙏🙏

totk is quite literally constantly on my mind. ESPECIALLY the soundtrack.

Ok, trailer analysis. It's time to put my Castle in the Sky knowledge to use. 🌬

1. I genuinely believe that Skyloft is inspired by the City Laputa. Example A

In the movie, in order to get to Laputa, you first had to survive a thunderstorm and two contrary hurricane wind directions. That protects the city from the outside world.

2. There is no thunder in the trailer, but there is a snowstorm with an ice boss battle. Having to go throw a storm is staying in theme with the story.

3. Plus, an airship that looks like a sea vessel and behind it is another cloud tower.

4. Also, in general, the Laputa Islands fleet aesthetic. That is spread throughout Hyrule sky.

I can't wait to play this game. Castle in the Sky was one of my favorite childhood movies. Now I get roam around in it. 🌥 😁 🌬
