I have a request!

Could anyone link me to that one post from forever ago that talked about how Chinese "evil" characters having braids is a subtle sign of racism that Western audiences normally wouldn't catch? I was trying to explain it to my boyfriend last night but I feel like the actual post would explain it better. Or maybe just a better explanation of it in the comments. Sorry for spam tagging fandoms, I don't remember which fandom the post I saw originally came from.

Today in Xie Lian's kitchen!

I made a very bastardized version of gazpacho. I used a bag of smoothie mix that contained blueberries, strawberries, banana and oatmeal cubes. In normal gazpacho everything is supposed to be blended together but that was too much work for me so it was all just left whole. I decided on using that mix because gazpacho usually calls for bread to thicken the soup but I had none so I hoped that the cubed oatmeal would work. It didn't. ☠️

I had no cucumbers so that ingredient was left out. I had no diced tomatoes either so I used half a jar of salsa I had and a jug of tomatoe juice. I probably shouldn't have used that much tomato flavoring because it tasted more like tomatoe soup but too late. I also used apple cider vinegar instead of sherry vinegar, and a fajita mix of green and red bell peppers and white onions because it was what I had available.

To top it off I added cracked black pepper, cumin, salt and mint. Overall not a bad recipe, but very Xie Lian. I'll call this recipe Crimson Rain in honor of Hua Cheng. Thank you for tuning in to this episode of Xie Lian's kitchen!

One problem I've always had with Heaven Official's Blessing is the fact that Xie Lian was ever allowed to cultivate in the first place. Like as far as we know he has no siblings and the only noted cousin he has is Qi Rong (who may be ineligible for the throne because of his mother giving up her royalty to marry his father, never mind his temperament). So why did his parents ever allow him to choose a cultivation path that requires abstinence? Where they just hoping that he would grow out of it? I don't remember how old exactly his parents were but they were old enough to have wrinkles so it's probably safe to assume that their baby having abilities are shot. Xianle seemed to follow the old "God said my bloodline is special so that is why we rule" thing so while Xie Lian could technically adopt a child to be his heir in the future (and he'd have to be very hush hush about it) that isn't something that his parents would actually want him to do. So his parents letting him choose a cultivation path that required abstinence just does not check out.

Maybe I'll expand upon this later but Xie Lian had such a bad fate. He never really knew any meaningful struggles until he was like 20 something and then boom, suddenly he is forced to come to the realization that unconditional love isn't real. Like everyone loved him no matter what he did before the war, and after the war he isn't able to get that love back for 800+ years. Like he really suffered the consequences of being a very rich and sheltered child.

Probably a really weird thought but this made me think of something. Blood is life, at least in the sense of we ain't living long without it. Maybe someone should write a fan fiction about Hua Cheng being mistaken for being evil because his power is making it rain blood but actually his power is a good thing! Like what if he can make it rain blood on dead/dying people and save them? Like maybe he saved Xie Lian this way and that's Xie Lian tries so hard to convince everyone that Hua Cheng is actually a good guy but no one will listen to him. Only Xie Lian knows the truth.

That one youtuber watching TGCF and being like: "That dude is making blood rain, he's obviously evil"

I love Xie Lian because we are both chaotic evil in the kitchen. I put acai berry smoothie mix into my soup the other night (because I'm not going to be making any smoothies anytime soon but I need to use it) and that was very Xie Lian of me I think. The soup is fine, you can't even taste it really, but yeah that's what most people would consider a horror.

Maybe I should just turn this blog into a Xie Lian worship blog. Post all of my recipes that Xie Lian would approve of. ☠️

Considering that Shi Qingxuan and Xie Lian are friends it's kind of weird that I've never come across anyone who ships them. Like this fandom ships the two characters who seemingly absolutely hate each other guts (FengQing) but not the pairing that might actually be ok. Like sure Shi Qingxuan and Xie Lian aren't soulmates but they could both do a lot worse when it comes to relationships. At least they are friends and get along, but I've seen people ship Xie Lian with Jun Wu more than with Shi Qingxuan! What would their ship name even be?

Head canon that Mu Qing would be the type of boyfriend that would go through your hair at least once a month to cut off all of your split ends for you because he loves playing with hair, he has great attention to detail and his love language is acts of service so of course he would.

Not to clown on Nezuko because I love her but man I wish my tits grew like 3 sizes every time I got mad. Is the author of Demon Slayer a dude? Did he really sit down and have a long ponder about what the female equivalent of a guy's eyes turning red when he is mad and decided that it obviously has to be that their tits inflate with rage? Is it meta commentary of how like dudes can get rage boners? Is she thinking with her tits? Is it supposed to be the female parallel of guys flexing and ripping their shirt open? I don't really know what is going on but 10/10 super power. I wish I could do that. Lol

People who work normal hours (9-5) have life so good. You see the sun, you can bask in it, you actually have both the time and the ability after work to do things. You are pathetic for choosing to live life in easy mode. This Valentines day I wish love and happiness to all 2nd, 3rd and swing shift workers only. 🙅‍♀️☠️ Perhaps you want to celebrate Valentines day but can't because of your hell scape job, but know that you are both brave and powerful, as well as loved!
