you know what one of the problems with the way our society handles trauma victims is? you’re never allowed to be angry. when it first happens, when you’re in shock or you’re crying every day, everybody is sympathetic and tells you that they’re here to listen. but then after the sadness ends, you’re expected to be okay again. we’re supposed to forgive and forget, we’re never given that chance to just be ANGRY. angry that it happened to us, angry that they got away with it, angry that things will never be the same, angry at what your life could have been. there’s SO MUCH anger and nobody will let you process it under the guise of you “being the bigger person.” let us cry and mourn. but also let us be angry. you are allowed to be angry.
