So I was thinking, let Moon Jo stay dead. But when Jong Woo tried to dig up his grave, his hand suddenly stuck out from the ground. Confused as he should have, yet JW took out a ring with a tooth on top and put it on MJ ring finger, Moon Jo came back to life just like in Corpse Bride =))
Guess I will call this AU Corpse Groom haha

Wow number 5! Well now i know why they have so much chemistry *squeal in fangirl
Fun facts about lee dong wook for strangers from hell:
1. Moonjo was originally supposed to be a married man with a daughter. They scrapped the audition to find the child actress for the daughter role in the end
2. They also tried to get a child actor to play moonjo as a kid, which i assume was to show that he ended up at the orphanage because he killed his own parents
3. The staff wanted to cast a more well known actor but it was challenging to get star actors; lee dong wook said he really wanted to join the drama so THAT took a burden off their shoulders ((i guess everytime ldw begs to be on a show it turns out great since he did the same thing to join goblin lol))
4. He was filming for the drama around the same time as the final episode of produce x 101
5. They got the script for the scene with moonjo touching jongwoo’s adam’s apple a month prior, ldw started touching siwan’s throat every single time they met to “familiarize himself with siwan’s adam’s apple.” Siwan was weirded out at first but after a while felt concerned whenever ldw DIDNT touch his throat
6. The fight scene between jongwoo & moonjo ended in one take, no ng
7. He lost 8 kgs for the role
8. Him and lee jung eun (the studio owner) filmed a commercial together for a real estate app which i find to be hilarious lmao

I promised to translate the original script for sfh so here it is (after 50 yrs or so)
1. Let’s start off with a goofy one. In the scene where moonjo rips the photo with jongwoo and jieun, moonjo was supposed to reenact the last (& best) scene of the kwill - “please don’t” mv. Watch the mv if you don’t know what i’m talking about i aint giving spoilers
2. Moonjo creeping out jongwoo on the rooftop and jongwoo being saved by his mom’s phone call: in the script, jongwoo asks if he can leave if moonjo’s done talking. Moonjo says “No, i’m not done talking yet.” So jongwoo shows his phone screen and says “My mother is calling. Look, i’m not lying.” To which moonjo mutters with a cold look, “My mom... I hated my mom.”
3. Script says they couldn’t find moonjo’s body in the end. Like the drama, jieun says jongwoo was talking to himself in the goshiwon, but she also adds that he was saying things like “we’re always going to be together” and “your life won’t be the same ever again,” which are the exact words moonjo apparently said to jongwoo before he died.
4. Seokyoon’s rap:
Fuck Mother! Fuck Father! Fuck Money!
Fuck Mother! Fuck Father! Fuck Money!
At age 5, i stole my mom’s money and ran.
At age 13, i stole my dad’s money and ran.
Although my mom and dad put their lives on the line
Trying to protect their baby lion, baby alligator, their own son
(baby is often used as a cuss word in korean. also seokyoon’s not very talented)
5. Everyone is just more cranky and cusses more in the script ig?? They say “fuck” a few times which isn’t allowed on tv lmao.. it also describes moonjo as having “thin and white/pale fingers” a lot, to the point where kfans found it to be kinda funny
Bonus (from a q&a with the director):
- Moonjo was abused as a child and killed his parents before going to boksoon’s orphanage (the “killed his parents” part was from the last ep of the drama)
- Looking at his behavior towards Jongwoo, Moonjo’s not a psychopath? He feels emotions like normal people & can relate to others’ pain and feelings, but his lust for blood is stronger so he just does his thing ig 🤷‍♀️
- Seo Moonjo may be a fake name
- Kihyuk wore long sleeves to imitate Moonjo (& he’s always cold), moonjo wore long sleeves to hide his scars. He’s also not affected by the weather a whole lot, but lee dong wook was sweating a ton in his long black shirt in the middle of august
- they took out the scene where nambok (the pervert) went to a butcher shop & spoke chinese while doing human (organ) trafficking

Poin 3 is the reason i ship them... Even when i shouldn't... Urgh
And i will add 1 more thing! The freaking transition between scenes is soo gooodddd. I love it
I want to recommend one TV show called Hell is other people/Strangers from hell because it receives little attention. It would be perfect for people who like thriller/horror/crime/murder genres or people who are fond of such things like Hannibal, bastard webtoon or smth similar. Here are several reasons why you should watch it:
1. It deals with dark themes and psychology of shadow-self. And more important it revolves around an idea that “Hell is other people” which was said by J.P. Sartre. The most frightening is really people around us and this shows tries to explore the depths of human mind. Not to mention that this show presents my favorite theme of corruption of human being.

2. Great cast. The quality of actor play is really high and I am not talking only about main characters but about all the cast especially minor appearances.
Tumblr media
3. Handsome main characters which have really great chemistry between them. The protagonist of the story has more chemistry with the antogonist than he has with his own girlfriend.

4. It is really frightening and sickening, but this effect is made not by the unexpected situations like in simple horror stories but you become really frightened of the characters. And I am not only talking about main protagonist, this show is full of crazy people, even the one who seems normal are not normal at all. Once again “Hell is other people”.
Tumblr media
5. There are no bad/good characters. Everyone is gray. This is a great plus because the trope of good/evil character is not realistic at all.

Also all the OSTs are great. If you like horror hope you will give it a try!

Interview Translation
I finally had some time to translate the Yoneda Kou interview in the March issue of the magazine “Da Vinci” that came out last month. The issue focuses on introducing BL manga to male readers, and includes interviews with some other BL mangaka like Harada, Takarai Rihito, and Kumota Haruko as well.
Yoneda Kou – Her realistic portrayals of men receive attention even outside the genre of BL
“Saezuru tori wa habatakanai” is a BL manga about the lives of men on the dark side of society. Despite its genre and graphic sex scenes the series has an exceptional number of male supporters as well. Why is that? We’ve asked the author Yoneda Kou who recently started serializing another series called “OP – The Colorless Days of Yoake Itaru” in the seinen magazine “Evening”.
The setting is a well-known criminal organization, the Japanese Yakuza. In Saezuru tori wa habatakanai which tells the story of the shrewd wakagashira Yashiro and the ex-cop Doumeki who becomes his personal assistant / bodyguard, Yoneda Kou creates a dense picture of a male-dominated world wavering between chivalry and jealousy, conspiracies and sexual desire. Not only is the series immensely popular among BL readers, it also receives favorable ratings from outside the genre, having won prizes like the FRaU Manga Award and the SUGOI JAPAN Award. Even the author herself never expected such a response from Non-BL readers when she first started serializing her work. »It feels very odd to me, since I’m drawing with the intention of creating a straightforward BL story. Given Yashiro’s characterization as lewd and masochistic, I first thought that my manga wouldn’t even appeal to many BL readers. That’s why I simply feel happy that someone would go so far as recommend it to others.«
