(Citizen Kane)
Charles Kane is a wealthy business man who is runs a newspaper. Before he died his last words are “ROSEBUD”. A curious journalist wants to crack the reason why Charles Kane’s last words are “ROSEBUD”. Citizen Kane is a perfect work of art. Extraordinary lighting, incredible camera edges and Orson Welles best work both on and off camera. It's a voyage about the ascent and fall of the strong business Charles Kane. Staggering visual narrating and should look for everybody, whose on filmmaking.
The “ROSEBUD” has a deep meaning and i think it’s not just for Charles Kane but for everybody and I believe everyone has their own Rosebud. The film struck me a lot of life lesson and watching it gives us a great reminder that life is just really short, no matter how high or low you are in our society the ending is the same for everyone. We can be rich in so many different ways not just possessions, money and power. Richness is life just like Bob Marley said.

(Slumdog Millionaire)
Indian Movies are one of the greats, how i wish Philippines has this kind of main stream cinema where they show their own culture and at the same time not to cliche entertaining.
The movie it self is outstanding, it’s really funny to think that a young slum kid would be accused cheating on a question and answer game show.. but that is the essence of the story. I admire the story of Jamal and his brother, their experiences together in the streets and how awful experiences with neighborhood. But what i admire most about the story is how each chapter of Jamal and his brothers street story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game shows questions.
All in all I think the film is a must see. It gives a ground-breaking understanding into India. The film doesn't extra any detail and shows almost every part of Indian culture from both the rich and poor people. All through the film our presumptions of India are tested and this appears to make the group of spectators feel instructed by the film and furthermore not accept what they are seeing and in a manner gives us a reminder into the unforgiving truth of the manner in which a few people live.

(Pulp Fiction)
Classic movies never gets old.. One of Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece. It conveys a variety of stylishly satisfying shots and delightful cinematography, amazingly interesting lines and the perfect measure of brutality. True to form, Tarantino never neglects to dazzle truly releases his creative mind wild for this hell of a ride, including the watcher too for everybody's thinking about what was all things considered.
The soundtrack is one of my record-breaking top picks and the layering of the story and the sections are extremely astounding.Totally splendid! Clever, cool and immortal! Astounding exhibitions from the group all around particularly Samuel L. Jackson. What's incredible about it will be it's quotable as well as leaves you suspecting about the philosophical sets in the movie.
One of my favorite line is “And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!"

(YIELD)

Starring: Bembol Roco and Hilda Koronel. Directed by: Lino Brocka.

(The Jazz Singer)
This movie is one of the famous classical films back in the day. i can say that it’s not easy to watch because of the black screen with subtitles cutting each and every time on scenes but it’s worth to watch. The story is about the family and career of Jess Robbin, it tackles the old traditional parenting and fighting for what you love most. if were in Jess Robbin’s shoe i don’t know what i’m going to chose between family and career, it’s very hard and difficult situation for him. but still he made it through and went pass on it, i admire him for that.
If you’re a fan of old classical films and loves the aesthetic of black and white films, this one if for you and i highly recommend this movie. You wouldn’t waste your time or regret on watching this movie because it has a great life lesson to learn from. The greatest lesson that i learned from this movie is that, It’s really a matter of what’s your priority and it’s not bad to be selfish sometimes in life because in the end what matters is still your own happiness. so go chase it.

(Hugo) if you are a student or loves history about film, this movie is for you to watch.
Martin Scorsese did a pretty great job on pulling off this movie that is base on history of film. as a film student i learned a lot about history on this film, it’s like educating you and at the same time entertaining. The story is about the great french film maker George Melies. George Melies had a lot of films that has been lost and sold because of the world war I. it affected him personally and believed that he and his art has been forgotten. But hugo and isabelle had their way of showing george that his art is still a master piece.
i think this film is not for everybody, because not everyone will appreciate the great story of George Melies. The lesson that i learned in this movie is that, Never be a shame of your passion and if you love something or someone just go get it because time is so precious and we cannot waste it. all in all, a great movie 4/5 stars for me.
