The giant Greek columns in the last room of the Malfoys' magic safe surrounded the marble pedestal where rested their most precious treasure. The Slytherin Locket was floating above the cold, white stone, shining with the diffuse light that invaded the room.

Harry lowered his wand, still hot from the last spell he had cast before crossing the threshold of the huge black doors. He could still smell the acridness of the Hungarian Horntail's fire -he hadn't fought a dragon since their robbery in the Lestrange family safe.

"I didn't know we had a dragon," Draco hissed, still breathless from their sprint. He had bent over, his hands on his knees, his shoulders lifting deeply as he was catching his breath.

"You didn't know this 50 ft fire-breathing flying lezard was living in your manor ?" The curse-breaker sneered playfully.

"Ahah," the first man replied standing up only to fall against the wall behind him, his chest still raising heavily. Harry walked closer.

"You okay ?"

"Yes... I have the feeling I could die at any moment in this safe."

Before the half-blooded could say a thing, his eyebrows frowned, the blond smiled and added:

"I like that. Danger..."

Harry blinked and chuckled, running his hand in his slightly damp hair. He locked his eyes with Draco's, savoring the curve of his smile. Harry liked danger too. His fingers coiled around Draco's silk scarf, and leaned upon him. In a floating moment, their lips brushed. Timidly. Even though Draco was still catching his breath, he had held it for a second, gasping quietly. Harry waited, staying still, hoping he didn't make a mistake.

"I... I like that too." Draco whispered, and he moved his head forward, filling the small gap between their faces.

And they kissed.

(More about that curse-breaker/RobinHood au, where Harry and Draco are about to steal the last precious relic of the Malfoy family. Problem is that the Slytherin Locket is an horcrux in this universe too, so Voldemort feels it when they take it, and Draco and Harry are chased by the Dark Lord. Trying to know why Voldemort is so mad about the locket, Harry, Draco, Ron and Hermione do some research. They'll learn about the horcrux and will decide to fight against the Dark Arts.)

"It's tomorrow night."

The moon rays were glittering on Draco's necklace. The blurry, silvery light was giving the young heir something of the Veelas. Harry's eyes fluttered to meet Draco's : he was waiting for an answer.

"What's tomorrow night ?" Harry whispered, unable to summon his own voice. He couldn't help but feel he should be on his guard, in case someone was wandering in the manor in the middle of the night. He shifted a bit on the stair step.

"The blood pact. I'll have to pledge allegiance to... You-Know-Who. Promise I will be a Dark Wizard. Promise I'll give my family a pure-blooded heir."

The thieve looked into his -how odd to think of him like that- friend's profile : his steel blue eyes were now staring stubbornly at the ground.

"You're scared ?"

"I'm scared." Draco repeated, as if waiting for the dark haired man to say those exact words. "First it was just... indecision. I was not sure I wanted to dedicate my life to the Dark Arts and the reign of pure bloods. And now..."

Again, his voice broke deep in his throat. Harry stayed silent, pondering if he should try to know more.

Draco often needed some help to vocalize his thoughts : he had never been encouraged to share his feelings. The whole exercise was brand new to him, and the half-blood thought he was already doing great.

"Now there is you, and..." Draco sighed between his teeth. "I can't."

Harry glared back at the moon, full and milky. The blond wizard didn't need to say much more for him to take his decision. He heard a sniffling next to him and before he could think about it twice, he heard himself say calmly:

"Draco, the robbery, we're doing it tomorrow."

(More about the thieves/RobinHood-like/curse breaker AU : Harry decides to do the robbery earlier than planned so that Draco and him can escape before the blood pact ceremony. Draco is relieved. Ron and Hermione disapprove and wonder if Draco Malfoy isn't trying to sabotage the break-in. But they'll do their job and support Harry no matter what.)

Harry did not move, contemplating the shimmering crystal chandelier in the ball room. Of course, Malfoy. When Ron, Hermione and himself had planned this new robbery, they had studied the Malfoy family closely : these blond, conservative witches and wizards were the epitome of the old magic nobility. Draco, on his behalf, finds an opportunity to distract his family from the upcoming ceremony where he will have to pledge allegiance to the Dark Lord.)
