Ed will finally be able to break that fantasy of domesticity that he has always dreamed of, Stede will be able to actually get fed up and ask for what he wants (bc he still wants to be at sea, I know it) and it’s going to allow them to actually COMPROMISE and realize what they really want!! Owning the inn together will either show make them go “yes this is what I always dreamed of” or go “oh, this is not actually what I want, it’s what I thought it wanted” AND THEN THEY WILL HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IT, ITS GOOD!!!

Im so absolutely fucking certain the show will end with the both of them doing the Master Fuckery and faking their deaths to retire together. But the last thing I want is Stede giving up his dream of piracy for Ed, just as much as I would hate for Ed to give up his domestic dream and keep being a pirate for Stede. The road left is so rocky but god I am excited. And FUCKFUCKFUCK we are going to have to wait for season 3 for that.

I am sure now that Zheng lost everything she’ll join the revenge or something, but just,,,,,, the throuple being so eager to leave the revenge stung— Stede I totally get your initial reaction. Like, weren’t you Jim the one missing how the revenge used to be while Blackbeard was wrecking havok? It’s your home, and they are your family:(

Yeah I'm sad about the stede and ed thing but I'm more upset about the ongoing disintegration of the crew as a found family. First Ivan died offscreen, then the Swede stayed with Jackie, then Buttons turned into and bird and flew off. Now Olu and Jim want to go with Zheng :(

It must have hurt so much seeing Archer, Olu, and Jim wanting to join Zheng. Like— I don’t feel like Stede’s reaction is fundamentally wrong. Ed literally left him once because he wasn’t pirate enough during the whole Calico Jack thing, and now left him because he’s too much of a pirate. Stede is in such a rough place, because he’s finally coming on his own, feeling worthy, respected when he had never felt like that before, and even though he’s everything he dreamed of, both the person he loves AND a significant part of his crew are leaving him for someone who tried to kill them. Like— are we all seeing the same scene? Of course he feels like he has to fight for them. Stede probably feels like his whole life he never fought back against anyone, he was bullied his whole life, bent for everyone’s wishes. He’s tired of it, maybe if he shows the people he loves his devotion to them maybe they’ll choose him.

Stede’s used to only being loved when he’s trying, after all.

The fun part about consuming media is the interpretation we give it!! Of course it matters what the author intended, but what you take from it, what you analyze, what you pick up on, is equally- if not more- important!! They make this for US, they write this for US, they film it for US, they put it out in the world for US!! and the magic about stories is that it changes for every single person that lives the story!! It's okay if you interpret a scene different than another person!! And canon is not that important, we queer watchers survived overanalyzing stuff and giving it more meaning for literally centuries before we started getting actual meaningful queer content, but we shouldn't stop finding new meanings and interpretations in the media we are given just because now the queer is no longer subtext.

Sure it's AMAZING being able to ask (and actually get answers) about every single detail of a show, but that shouldn't take away or give less importance to different interpretations.

An author fully owns a story until the moment they share it with the world. Then it becomes the story of every single person that consumes it, and that's the most beautiful part of art and storytelling!!!
