𓆩♡𓆪 SUMMARY: Two Hashiras take a break in a peaceful forest while on their way back to Butterfly Estate after a grueling mission. As they await the sunrise, they engage in a "heart-to-heart" conversation, sharing their fears, guilt, and upcoming challenges that await them. The past hasn't been kind to them, but they find solace in opening up to each other.
Tumblr media
It had been a long day on the mission, and night had fallen as you both made your way through the path. The sky was awash with the warm hues of twilight, the last vestiges of sunlight casting long shadows across.
"We still have a few hours of walking ahead of us. Are you sure you don't want to take a break?" Kyojuro asked, his concern for you evident in his booming voice.
The shadows grew deeper, and the trees seemed to tower over, your branches reaching up towards the stars.
"If we stop now, we'll need more than just a few hours to make up for lost time," You looked back at him with those same rolling eyes which he couldn't help but recall with a grin. The first day you joined them, eager to embrace a new life in a new place with all that attitude of yours. Those rolling eyes.
As you trudged through the muddy road, he caught sight of a towering tree off the beaten path and without warning, you were pulled by your hand in another direction.
"Worry not, we're just taking a break," he announced, sensing the weariness in your body. You protested weakly, but he wasn't having any of it. Your feet were aching and those eyelids of yours were incredibly heavy. Kyojuro, on the other hand, seemed to be unaffected by the long day of travel.
"You look absolutely exhausted, my friend. I don’t want you falling asleep on the way back home," Kyojuro said, his flammable eyes glinting as if in the form of stars. "Besides, I don't want to give the others a chance to tease you about me carrying you all the way!" he added with a chuckle.
"But what about the demons?"
His fiery spirit blazed like the flames he wielded. He raised one of his fists to his chest proudly, his face alight with intense passion.
"I'll take care of them! Just relax and snooze the sweetest of dreams by the fire. Leave the rest to me, friend!"
He patted your shoulder gently before turning his attention to the darkness beyond the fire, ready to face whatever demons might come their way.
You hesitated slightly, just coudn't shake off the feeling of guilt that washed over as you watched him tirelessly do all the work without your help. Despite his insistence, you wanted to be as useful as in any way you could, but only for him to refuse such kind offer.
But after all, your exhaustion won out.
„Thank you, Sir Rengoku.“
„Kyojuro, call me Kyojuro.“
He went about building the fire, skillfully arranging the wood and kindling until the flames roared to life. As he worked, he noticed the chill in the air and knew that you must be feeling it too.
"Hm. Take my haori," He smiled at his good work with the fire now burning much hotter than his flaming hair, offering you the oversized garment.
“Oh, thanks.“
"It's even bigger than you! Even more than enough to wrap around you like a blanket, though!" As he draped the haori over your shoulders, he couldn't help but laugh at the sight of you nearly disappearing beneath the voluminous fabric. The sound of your laughter joined his, and for a moment, the two of you were lost in the joy.
As the night settled in, the forest came alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures. The hooting of an owl echoed through the trees, bowing their wings in the moonlight. The stars twinkled in the sky, and the gentle breeze carried the sweet scent of wildflowers. It was a peaceful and serene moment, a moment that you wished would last forever.
And when the stillness of the forest enveloped you, a familiar voice broke the silence after quite some time. "You're still awake, any disturbance?" The Flame Hashira whispered softly, his presence a comforting one.
"I can't sleep."
"That's alright," without hesitation, he settled down next to you, his reassuring energy grounding you whilst offering you a warm smile.
"Do you want to talk instead?" The invitation hung in the air between you two, and you couldn't help but feel grateful for his kindness. With him by your side, you knew that even the darkest of nights would be easier to bear.
„I'm just..Sir Rengoku, I am truly sorry for making you do all this work for nothing, I—I really tried to rest and all, but we could have just continued walking instead—“
„I didn't to this good work for nothing, I'd say.“ He reassured you, his voice kind and understanding as always, yet never quiet. „Even if you're not asleep, your body and soul still need rest. If we had continued walking instead of stopping here, I guarantee you I would have actually carried you all the way, one way or another!“
His laughter rang out, the sound filling the peaceful surroundings.
„So, worry not!“
For a fleeting moment, the silence between you and the Flame Hashira was palpable, heavy with unspoken thoughts and emotions. Your eyes met and your fingers fidgeted nervously, punctuating the stillness with small gestures. In that instant, the already-quiet night seemed to grow even more hushed, as if the world itself were holding its breath.
 „Well?“
„Well what?“
"Since you're already in no shape to sleep, will a little heart-to-heart do the trick?" he clarified, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"Heart-to-heart?“ you repeated, a hint of amusement in your voice. "Is that what you call a late-night talk?" You couldn't help but grin at the playful term, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort settle over you as you settled into the easy rhythm of your banter.
Together, you whiled away the hours, sharing stories and jokes and just being yourselves. But when the conversation turned to the topic of family, you grew quiet.
And Kyojuro noticed that.
“Hey there now,” he said, placing a warm hand on your shoulder.
"I know it's tough. I've been there myself, when I lost my mother. We had so many plans together, so many words of encouragement left unsaid. She was an incredible woman, with the most beautiful smile I've ever seen."
"I'm really sorry about that.. I, I believe she was really a wonderful woman."
He nodded. "There is no such need to be sorry, I'm very glad that woman was someone I could call mother on my own. She taught me something important before she took her last breath - she taught me to never give up. To always keep fighting, no matter what. And that's what I try to do every day . To protect the weaker ones, ones for whom my heart beats the most."
"A truly wonderful woman, raising you so well..I can't help but admire you, Sir.”
The two of you sat in silence for a moment, watching the fire crackle until there was something else to be told.
"You know," he began, "I have a younger brother, too. His name is Senjuro, he's the bravest guy I know— just don't tell him I just made that up!"
You looked at him curiously with a smile on your face. "I'll be able to meet him? Really?!"
"I don't see why not, my friend! Apart from being so quick to fear anything, his heart burns hotter than any horror in his path. He is a talented swordsman, my little hero as I like to call him."
You could hear the pride in Kyojuro’s voice, not knowing whether to ask the next question or not. "And your father?"
In the blink of an eye, you noticed how all that pride settled down, watching his face also change its happy position of the lips from a smile to something a little more serious, darker.
"Oh? My father..My father, I suppose, was never a father figure to us. He always did his own thing and didn't seem to care about us. Senjuro and I were the only family we had, but no matter what kind of father he is, I hope he finds peace. Losing a loved one can be devastating, and I understand his anger. It's not just anger itself, it's the pain of grief and the struggle to cope with loss.”
"Right, I believe he experienced a lot, even what he neither needed nor wanted. I'm sorry if this is all too much for you..I shouldn't have dragged it into the topic." you whisper, but his smile only warms your heart even more, and you feel a sense of relief.
"I appreciate your attentiveness, but you don't need to apologize so much. It's truly refreshing to talk to someone who listens so well." he replies, fixing you a little better with the haori you were wrapped in like a granny.
"Remember that no matter what you're going through, you're not alone. We're all in this together!"
His words resonate deeply within you, and you feel a renewed sense of hope and strength. With a small smile, you settle back into your spot by the fire, feeling comforted and at peace.
You were overwhelmed with gratitude and struggled to find a way to express it adequately. Though you had thanked him verbally countless times, you knew those words didn't truly capture the depth of your appreciation, so you reached out your hands and embraced him tighly, feeling the warmth of your shared bond radiating in between the two of you.
„Thank you, Sir Rengoku, I really mean it.“
„Kyojuro!“
„Kyojuro, right, right! No need to be so scary!“ You cackled at his boisterousness.
It was a warmth that surpassed even the cozy embrace of that haori of his and the flickering flame of the campfire. This hug was the truest expression of your gratitude, to which he chuckled at heart.
„Although your parents may not fully support your dreams at the moment, it's important to persevere and not give up easily. Keep working hard towards your goals, and someday you'll achieve the victory you're seeking!"
You didn't even have a chance to glance at the time before your eyelids fluttered shut, the darkness engulfing you like a soft blanket. For what felt like hours, you slept soundly, lulled by the distant calls of nocturnal creatures like night owls who praised the moonlight over the world once again.
When you finally stirred, the first rays of dawn caressed your face, welcoming you back to the world of the living. You felt as though you were cradled in the arms of a loving parent, far softer than the rough bark of the tree you had leaned on before drifting off. As your eyes opened, you were momentarily disoriented, wondering where the fire and the tree had gone. Instead, you saw an endless blue sky stretching out above you, and a road stretching out ahead like an invitation.
"Good morning!“ Rengoku's booming voice broke through the peace once again, his strong arms carrying you effortlessly towards the entrance in a flash. The Butterfly Estate.
As you emerged into the light, you were greeted by the warm smiles of your companions, including Tanjiro and his playful friends. They welcomed you with open arms, thrilled to see you up and about once more. You couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over you, knowing that you were safe in their care.
However, as you stepped into the main hall, you were immediately greeted by a chorus of playful teasing, which were not to your liking.
"Ooh, looks like Kyojuro has found himself a new lady friend!," Kanzaki giggled, her eyes sparkling mischievously.
"I see you've taken to carrying your companions around like princesses, Kyojuro," Kocho remarked dryly, though you could detect a hint of amusement in her voice.
The Flame Hashira merely chuckled, having those sparkling eyes wide open. "Our fellow Hashira was exhausted after the battle, and I didn't want to risk injuring her further by making her walk," he explained, his arm still wrapped protectively around your waist.
“So, Kocho, could you please double-check her just to be safe? Though I am confident that everything is intact. I made sure to pay attention to all aspects of the situation.”
The others exchanged knowing looks, their teasing continuing in good-natured ribbing. Despite the initial embarrassment, you found yourself laughing along with them, feeling grateful for the camaraderie and lightheartedness in the midst of such grave circumstances.
You reached out and gently touched his hand, feeling a surge of admiration for the Hashira who had taken you under his wing, your mind buzzing with possibilities, knowing that your journey as a Demon Slayer was only just the beginning.

SUMMARY: Reality hit you like a lawnmower, overwhelming you with the stress of filling out and signing multiple papers. With no sense of time, you caused restlessness in Izuku who was eagerly waiting for you in the room. It's only a matter of time before he refuses to let you spend even a minute on those papers, pulling you back into the fantasy world where you feel most at ease and comfortable with him.

"love, I won't say it again."
Your ears listened to the sweet threats echoing from the bedroom, not even bothering to raise your head at such a tone as you had your own little moment, scribbling on the work papers you were still working on late into the night.
But still, it managed to distract you a little from the constant staring into space, now letting go of everything to take a sip of hot coffee.
"Yeah, yeah..one second and I'm done for sure." you smiled, those dark circles under the numb eyes of yours that shone above the lamp gave off a look ten times worse than the gremlin itself, constantly feeding on your weariness.
This is what happens when you don't know what peace actually is in life. Worry about this, stress about that, no rest, no sleep. Just work until you completely fall apart, isn't that the easiest way around?
Enriching your lungs with life of a very deep sigh, you decided to choose the side of suffering for a bit longer before finally throwing yourself in bed. You shouldn't have been thinking about anything at all, because just the thought of flying to bed made you sleepier than you already were, you needed to go back to work.
And just as your hand was to position the pen in a tight grip once again, it found itself in the trap of another, now slightly rougher hand, leaving the pen untouched.
„Just one second, huh? I don't buy that. I doubt you even know what time it is.”
Your dearest shadow could now be very noticeable from all corners of the room, appearing right behind your now embraced, yet so drowsy body which, to your surpise, still kept its balance on the chair.
"So? What time is it, baby?"
"I believe it's past midnight, but let me finish this, Izuku. I'm almost do—"
„One more second, almost done, almost done..“ he mocked.
„..right, but I personally think you could draw yourself in bed for that one second, doesn't that sound any better?" Izuku was now smiling so innocently, yet giving you those cheeky little glances here and there with his hands now roaming freely all over you, just like being in the jungle having coffee with a mamba.
Just the thought of it dragged you into a fantasy that you rarely had time to dream about; just you and Izuku, your sleeping soul among his, tenderest, flowing from stream to stream at his touch, so smooth yet so rough. And even the smallest kiss was enough to throw you back to reality in front of a table of more than a hundred papers instead of that jungle coffee, causing your heart to rot once again.
"Silly, I guarantee that you will literally fall asleep right there on the table if I go to the room without you now.“
"Like I said Izuku, I only have a li-"
"Jajaja—! No way I'm listening! You're coming with me by force!“
You knew you were giving up as soon as you felt those gentle hands reaching behind your knees faster than thunder itself, collecting you as if you were the prize of the world.
„I'll wake you up in the morning so you'll have time to sleep, go back to your senses and be ready for a new day and new challenges! I consider these papers the lowest level so ,” kissing your golden eyebrows that were still frowning at him for no reason, you caught them in the act as they slowly yielded, loving the attention they were getting at this very moment.
„—Don't waste your energy on those things when it's time to be next to me and snore your heart out under that blanket!“
From sudden giggles he successfully triggered in you, you buried your head deep into his chest trying to catch your breath, but to no avail. But soon, your pouting role quickly returned, babbling something muffled in his chest.  Now that you had all his loving attention towards you, you decided to pull all those words back into silence. It was even a good thing your head wasn't sticking out yet, otherwise Izuku would be met with a bright red radish like in the middle of a field in the hot sun.
"I can't hear you like that if you have your head buried in me like an ostrich. Something wrong?”
„No..“ That slippery tone of yours sounded more like you were asking yourself that than adding an answer to it.
„Hm. Y'sure?“
„No..“
"No? Did I do something?"
You slowly turned your head upwards, then downwards, nodding dramatically.
"So..wanna tell me?"
He certainly saw all that as something very sweet about you. You generally frowned like that, even when there was no reason for war, but still, he loved it when it came to that.
And in the other hand, you melted there like pudding in his arms, hesitating a bit then stretching those words out on the tip of your tongue until they decided to come out on their own.
"You didn't kiss my lips."
"What? You need to be louder, love." he teased you whilst walking slowly into the bedroom with you glued to him.
"Stop joking, don’t wanna repeat myself."
"Then I really don't know what you want, sorry." and there it was again, that mischievous laugh of that same angel who was wooing you just a few minutes ago. You never liked this torture in such a way. But of course, you softened even more in the blush of your own hidden face.
„Okay, okay, m'sorry sweetheart. We're not messing around anymore, I understand. Want a kiss, though?“
Your mind didn't even think to turn to his side of the bed. You sighed hatefully just enough that he could clearly see that he had gone too far with his little humorous remarks.
But Izuku, of course, didn't mind in the slightest. In fact, he loved when he got the chance to see you all as mad as a lynx, putting funny things together like puzzles. The lynx is a very dangerous animal, but after all it is a cat that likes to be cuddled too. At that, he crawled like a worm closer to your angry figure, noticing how you didn't even move to stop his hands that were already glued to you, caressing your neck lightly.
"Your highness, I fear that I may have committed a grave sin. Will you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?"
"Shut up for once."
"I will, my dearest lady, if you tell me how I can make it up to you?"
You leaned towards him, half turning to shot a serious look at now oh-so-comical Izuku.
"I shall never forgive you, you filthy bandit."
He gasped, dramatically.
"And not even for those kisses you've been searching for all this wonderful time, my lady?"
Reminding you of that, you suddenly snuggled into the blankets, ready to go to sleep and even without saying "good night",
"Oh no, not on my watch! If you won't go by grace, we're going by force!"
..but how can such a thing happen?- of course you won't be able to frown with those furrowed brows for long, now laughing under the warm blankets with the "bandit" so fabulously kissing every point on your nose and face, neck and shoulder, taking you under the clouds where there was absolutely no desk and papers at all,
but only you and him, and the clock that had read half past three in the morning.

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, the sky transforms into a breathtaking canvas of vibrant colors. The last remnants of daylight slowly fade away, leaving behind a gentle twilight that blankets the earth.
And as the darkness creeps in, a hush falls over the world. But it seems that someone did not have peace among that silence of the night.
“Don’t worry, darling. I have everything I need.“
“And those sandwiches I made you?"
"And those sandwiches you made me." he smiled caringly, gesturing towards the sandwiches that were nicely packed in a bag. But as much as he wanted to appear positive about everything now, he didn't show much of a progress now that you were here as an escort before his long departure.
"Do you know when you will be back?"
“Right, about that..“
As though lost in thought, his once bright smile faded into wistful expression.
“I cannot make a vow to return swiftly, but of this you can be certain, my love,”
Receiving your tender skin against his drowned like embers, he pulled you closer in the hope that you could hear him with your own ears and heart.
“..my heart is taped to yours, and it shall lead me back to you through storm and tempest, across oceans and mountains. No distance shall dim the flame of my love for you, nor weaken my resolve to reunite with you once more.”
“Oh, stop being so cheesy and come back as soon as you can, alright?” The two of you giggling and smiling like two doves in each other's arms, you came as close to him as your lips could reach his, closing even the tiniest gap in between.
It was a slow and lingering kiss, as if the two of you were trying to freeze time and make the moment last forever, saying goodbye without actually saying so before you had to part ways, once again.
“Oh!-and one more thing..!“
Before you even got hold of his key find, in no time at all you caught your hand, which had been standing shyly behind his back, now holding something in front of you, something packed.
The wrapping paper was forest green, decorated with tiny white bunnies and a delicate silver ribbon.
“For me?“ He gave you a funny look, handing the little gift into your hands once again leaving his lips on your forehead. His eyes flickered towards the digital departure board every few seconds, as if willing the time to move slower, but it was already time for the travelers to finally say their sweet goodbyes, and unfortunately for him, he drifted from the comfort of your embrace, leaving behind the bittersweet memories of your warmth for later.
"Go, go out there and be the hero they didn't even know they needed."
“Right! I’ll be back, honey, kisskiss!“
“Stay safe!“
Watching him go and disappear from your sight, your eyes sparkled with curiosity as you gazed down at the neatly wrapped present in your hands. You couldn't wait to untie the ribbon at home and see what treasure lay hidden inside. And so,
as you carefully unwrapped the paper, you unearthed something that shone with a golden radiance, like a treasure discovered by a pirate on a sandy beach. But this was no ordinary gold in your still sparkling eyes. It was a precious, priceless gift that would light up your world in ways that money could never buy. The bunny lamp glowed with a warm, inviting light that chased away the shadows lurking in all corners. It was like a small beacon of a lamp, a symbol of love and devotion that will guide you through the darkest nights.
The bunny lamp’s long, floppy ears stood still, as if they were listening intently to every sound around them. Those large, round eyes seemed to sparkle with inner mischief, as if it were in on a secret joke that only it knew.
As you admired the lamp's delicate beauty, you noticed a small letter tied around the neck. With trembling fingers, you opened the letter and read the heartfelt words written inside, sweet tears sliding down your face. It was a gift from dear Izuku, a token of his undying affection that would forever shine bright in your heart.
Every wonderful night, even if it was raining and thunder was hitting the bushes, you would turn on the bunny lamp, letting it protect you from all the evils and darkness that kept you awake. Izuku’s presence wasn't quite next to you, but it shone with a fiery intensity, surrounding you with the safety of invisible arms that you would have otherwise been wrapped in during the night, even though they were now somewhere far away. On the other side of the world.
Countless nights have slipped away into the past, but as day and night changed, long weeks followed, turning into months like caterpillars just emerging from their interwoven web.
Over time, his letters stopped coming to you and to your loving heart, and it also seemed like there was no signal as soon as he didn't answer your calls. You really wanted to understand what was going on, but you thought that he was probably overloaded with work, that it was perfectly fine if he put you aside now.
As the seasons changed and the world around you transformed, you slowly began to realize. The holiday cheer that once brought you such joy now felt hollow and empty, a painful reminder of what you had lost. The mornings and nights stretched out endlessly, with each passing day a struggle to find meaning and purpose in a life that had been shattered by grief.
No longer did the changing leaves or the first snowfall bring a sense of wonder and excitement. The colors of fall were muted and dull, the snowflakes falling like tears from the sky. The once-festive decorations and lights felt garish and tasteless, mocking your pain and loneliness.
Memories of laughter and love of him haunted you every waking moment, a bittersweet reminder of a life that was now gone.
And as the night wore on, thick tears of yours, over the cold moonlight continued to flow down. You clutched the lamp tightly to your chest, its warm glow a reminder of the love you held onto so fiercely. Your heart held both hope and suspicion in equal measure, as you craved for a better outcome while fearing the worst.
Even so, you never lost hope that Izuku would return to you and held on to your love for him, but as the first rays of dawn crept into the room, illuminating the emptiness that surrounded you, you knew that this waiting of yours had come to an end.
With a heavy heart, you turned off the lamp, the only light left in your life now extinguished forever. And as you sat there in the darkness, whispering those final farewell to the man you had loved so deeply, knowing that you would never see him again,
“..you made me a promise, a vow to return to my side.. and the life we once shared, now a distant memory in the wake of your betrayal of those endless years without you. You liar..yo-you big dumb liar! Y-you said you'd be ba-ack! You swore to me.."
The darkness seemed to swallow up your fragile figure, leaving you isolated and alone with your heart that felt heavy and broken, drained of life and joy. You couldn't understand how it still beat with such force when everything felt so meaningless.
You were consumed by your grief, lost in a world that no longer held any meaning. With tears streaming down your face, you clung to the lamp, as if it were a lifeline in the darkness. It was just you and him now, him,─in the soft glow of the lamp.

SUMMARY: Noticing some of the most problematic criminals finally in sight in the open, you unconsciously decided to confront them without even knowing what one of them was up to. The fog triumphantly prevailed on all sides, suffocated all the air that was itself the source of life and left you alone in such a dusty hell. Not a single criminal, not even a citizen was in your sight anymore. The eyes closed little by little, orienting themselves within the sounds that echoed from all corners of your ears, but never knowing where the 'mouth of the river' of it all was.
All you could feel were the bushy shadows that blended into each other, fooling your mind that no longer even functioned at your will.
Such effects were very recognizable to you from before, but now that you found yourself in such a tense environment all on your own, not even that huge heroic feature won't get you out of the foggy situation you've gotten yourself into.
And what was worst of all, your legs gave up on you a long time ago, the whole function of your body sawed you off, snuggling against the cold floor.
"It's over, little hero. You've disturbed a lot of our peace, and the best option I'm giving you right now," a dark villain stepped out of the mist into your view, roughly grabbing your chin to make you look straight at him as he speaks.
"..is to stay quiet and still until it all ends."
You couldn't even see how pitiful it was of you to wail like this on the floor doing absolutely nothing, simply taking fate into your own hands.
The grinning shadow landed towards you, and you who were ready to accept the next blow while closing your eyes in terror, you have come to the point that you have been waiting for that blow for a long time now, but no way to come at you. Instead, there was a gut-wrenching screech that you were absolutely sure wasn't yours, but from the villain who was fit to finish you off on the spot.
And there before your very own eyes, stood Izuku. Terminating them both from getting to you, flipping them aside with all his strenth without even moving an inch from your motionless body.
"Izuku—"
"What did I tell you about running away like that?“
"But- I caught one of them..! They broke my handset and just-„
"And I did, but this one doesn't seem to give up."
They had already seen Izuku dusting other criminals on TV and it didn't seem like a good sign to them. They weren't entirely sure about his abilities, but they certainly knew that there was no messing around with this guy.
"Stay back, I don't want you to get hur—rnghh!" Successfully blocking the menacing force that was now in front of him, his attention went in sharp corners like a sword and a shield at the same time. Giving them strong strikes, and also defending the entire area where you were lying helplessly on the cold hard ground.
You were out of reach, and that was good. His eyes flashed in flames, determined to finish this pointless game with the serpentine whips that were almost impossible to avoid,
especially for those criminals who had no idea what awaits them when they decide to face a hero who always has victory at his feet.
But any way you turn it, the hero's weak point in general was always something that could easily be managed as one of the plans, and that was the only thing they could get away with. Sacrifice.
"I don't like you, hero. So to make it easier for us, we'll just get rid of that little fellow over there!"
Could they possibly mean..
„Huh.“
In the blink of an eye, you felt a texture like living mud under your feet, as if you were no longer standing on level ground. And indeed, when your head went towards the floor, you couldn't even see it anymore, sinking into a black hole that caused immobility in the stuck part of your body.
In a panic, you tried to hold on to something but it was futile, the hole sucking up everything above it was quickly out of reach, leaving only you still barely visible on the surface.
"Crap! Am I gonna die?!“
"Hold on, I-I've got you!" came the shout from Izuku who left the villains on the run, throwing himself in front of you to grab your still-unsinkable arm.
"Izuku, move away! If you stay with me you will be sucked in too!"
"Just hang in there, dammit! Hold on tight!"
.
.
.
"So, what now?"
A dead silence took over the thinned space between the two of you, meeting a familiar street that you believed you had even passed many times, but without any attention.
„Don't act like it's not your fault! If you hadn't followed them when I told you to stay with me, none of this would have happened.“
"You're right, none of that would have happened but," you looked down, grabbing his hands in yours.
"What if someone else got hurt? Who would be to blame then?"
Now there, you've got a point.
Izuku decided to give in, as he always did. He knew how much you liked to be helpful and if you hadn't been there, who knows, maybe someone would have really gotten hurt. After all, you're a pro just like him.
It didn't even take him long to wrap his arms around your loose body when he realized the effects were still on you.
„You alright honey? Does it hurt?“
„Don't worry too much, it will just take a little while for the numbness in my legs to go away, but I'm fine.“
"His quirk- I got written it all down, but, but I'm afraid the notebook fell out of my pocket when I jumped into the hole. It could also be that right now it's in that void between the portals.." You could notice that his curious eyebrows descended like a gloomy puppy, cupping both of his cheeks into your hands while you intended to kiss every little dot that was right there on his skin.
"Stop being so gloomy about that notebook of yours. The important thing is that it didn't end that bad. I mean, we just, found ourselves in a completely different time but that, .. it could have been worse than that, I suppose..?“ You shrugged.
"Out of sight.“
„What?“ you stared puzzledly at the unfamiliar words he mumbled just now, did he just told you to—
„That villain's quirk, it's called 'Out of sight.'“
Oh.
„It's by the hole that suffered and brought us here. Similar to Warp-Gate, when I think a little better. It's black, there is a little purple color over the edges and the suction strength is strong to fight. I wonder if even the entire wardrobe could sink in the portal, I mean, why not?— but what if the weight of another body does not depend at all, or if self-"
"Love, don't forget to breathe." You smiled at his monologue, looking around once more.
Behind your small figurines was a huge building that was supposed to be a school, most likely middle school with the fact that you saw younger children outside, must be in their teens.
And then you thought.
"That's where you went to school too, let me guess?"
„Ahhh…“
You didn't even notice a thick drop of sweat pouring down his forehead while swallowing that lump in throat, only earning a nervous chuckle from him.
"Yeah..! That's my former school, but! Let'smoveon—"
„Uhm, o-kay? Why are you pulling my hand like that, though?“
„Pullingyourhandlikewhat?“
At such a terrible speed you couldn't catch his words at all but just him laughing it off, it worried you a little.
„You seem to have predicted a bomb falling from the sky, haven't you?“ you tried to laugh at your own joke, but something was telling you to stop, preventing you from stretching your lips into a smile.
"We uh- we have a lo-lot to find out, you know! What year it is..time of day..are there uhm, well uh— any famous people hereee..whatthehell is going on around us..." he now began to list completely meaningless things that entered his mind so pointlessly, passing in a flash a small alley that barely emerged in that darkness, but something caught your eye.
You suddenly went into reverse dragging a nervous Izuku behind you.
"Woah, hey! Where-"
"I don't know what came over you, but whatever it is there, I'll find out for myself!"
Completely ignoring his panicked gestures behind you, you clung to the wall like gum, listening while also accompanying what was going on.
"Who do you think you are, huh? Trying to be somebody and something, and you know what? Save that for later, maybe after you're done crying like the little whiner that you are!"
Not far in front of you were two younger boys, certainly from that school based on their uniforms, arguing.
"You think your dreams are worth fulfilling so easily? Do you really think, you poor thing, that you can be worth anything in this world? With what, that non-existent quirk of yours?“
Hearing such harsh words that crushed the soul more than any stone, even though you just sneaked up behind the wall and listened, your ears were already enough of a witness thinking with all the windings of your brain for a reason:
„why you should not kill the living god in that child right now?“  And the moment you took two angry steps forward, Izuku pulled you to himself, not knowing when it would be time to drag you back to him once more, but this time you had enough of his games.
"Izuku, move. I want to teach that Mr. toughy a lesson." you leaned forward hoping to magically fly out of his grasp but it was useless.
"No, just wait..!“
"Seriously? Are you even in your right mind right now?— listen, that child is in trouble and you, I don't know what you're doing-"
"No, stop, listen to me. I want you to take a good look and just follow their words. It will click, I know it will."
You looked submissively into the distance, noticing very clear faces with the sharpness of your eyes, not even remembering if you had ever known them, but everything seemed to be in its place in your brain. One was blonde with spiked ends, acting silly like Bakugo in general when he charges at Izuku with all his might, and the other literally looked like your Zuzu. That untamed hair that was springing out in all directions with the voice with a very high, yet cracking tone must have been giving you some signs.
"Once again, if I hear that you are interfering in heroic matters, and especially when it comes to UA high school, you'd better be gone. Don't forget who you are, Deku."
The last word played around in your head for a while. You turned to Izuku, then to them, putting the puzzles together in your brain until it finally clicked.
Right. It did click.
"So, you do realize this is the past, right?“
„Why didn't you tell me right away?“
"You'd just start arguing." He gave you a small kiss on the forehead, taking your hand.
„Now that I know, and now that you know, we can go somewhere else! C'mon!"
"Yeah, totally.“
You moved away from the wall, no longer caring so much if one of them noticed you spying on them, because it was no longer in your plan to hide, listen, observe. You've had enough of hesitation, you still wanted to explain some very major things to someone.
But, of course, there will always be someone that will take you two steps back once again, none other than Izuku.
"Wha—„
„What are you doing!? We can't let them see us!"
"And why is that?"
„What if he somehow recognizes you and then what? You're gonna tell him you're from the future?
"Izuku don't be silly, he didn't even know I existed back then, where could he most likely see me anyway? In the butcher shop?"
"Hey, anything is possible..! He knew how to go to the butcher's shop a couple of times when his mother—„
"Izuku, I was joking. But really, like you have any idea where I go on what day. Hey you!" It was already too late for Izuku to pull you back, you were already out in the open.
Now firing himself in the forehead he decided to give in, following you like a baby.
"What the-WhOah!"
You grabbed young Katsuki by the uniform that was wrapped up to his neck and hung him on the wall like a brand new picture, throwing yourself in his face as if you were assigned the role of a mobster, although you were surprisingly good at it.
"What do you think you're doing, Mr. toughy one? You think you're better than anyone in this world, right? Why don't you go home and think about some things and only then go whip someone like that in the streets when there's not a living soul in sight!"
You barked at the top of your lungs at him as your husband tried to pull you off him with all his manly strength that was all along useless against your rages. He could have dragged you with an excavator right now, and you still wouldn't have gotten off the tousled blonde. Not to mention the younger Izuku who was standing there like a statue of liberty between the three of you, fearfully debating in his head whether he had pissed or shit himself.
„No! He doesn't deserve my mercy, let me—ngh—at him! Let me!“
„Don't be a savage! Calm down, understand me!“
No one in this environment knew how many times Izuku had apologized for your barbarian-like behavior, but somewhere deep in his heart he was very glad that you were defending his weaker side, the weaker self that then, and even now, he couldn't defend.
But of course, he couldn't just let you knock all the baby teeth out of the young Katsuki's mouth, even though the thought of it was too ridiculous not to laugh at.
Just imagine, the fearless king explosion murder, without any teeth. Seriously.
"And what are you laughing at?!"
"Nothing, nothing, just calm down, love."
"L-Lo-Looove!?" The younger Izuku shuddered in astonishment, catching him in the act of falling unconscious.
.
.
„So, you want to tell me that you are Deku, that little ant, but from the future?“ Leaning against the wall with his arms hugged to his chest, he watched Izuku and his similar figure still lying unconscious on your knees, quite suspiciously comparing in silence.
"Yeah, I don't believe you..."
"I mean-! Who would, right? I know you—"
"This is his twelfth notebook in a row, isn't it?"
"I'm sorry?"
You heard me, is this his twelfth notebook in a row?“ Katsuki repeated the question with an irritated expression on his face, trying to convince himself of something that was almost impossible. But the story with such a forum that played the biggest role made the most sense, could it really be true what they are saying ?, he thought.
"I guess...not? Uh, I probably had another notebook back then, writing down a lot about the professional heroes I saw out there whenever something happened, keeping track of their martial skills and stamina too, but I guess not. Oh, and if I'm not mistaken, you're holding your All might card in your pocket right now.“
„What? How do you-“
„We already told you. We really are from the future, as crazy as that sounds in your head. And the one over there, 'Deku', is also me in front of you. We share secrets..“ He jealously moved his head away the second he glanced at you, watching you glorify every little thing, every breath young Deku takes and lets out, every little movement he makes in your arms.
"You're not bored in life, are you, younger me?" he whispered to himself.
"If you're really not lying…S-Swear on All Might!"
"Hey! We're not going to swear on All Might now, it's serious!"
“Then you're not a real twerp!”
"But! You can't just—"
"Wonderful! Now you've woken him up!" you fumed silently at them, hugging to yourself the green haired 'baby' even tighter now, who looked like he was going to fall into that unconsciousness once again, very soon.
But as soon as you started to scratch his neck from behind, your eyes blossomed as his greenish ones sank into the depths. You simply loved learning a lot about your past sweetheart, and you didn't complain about a single thing.
The silence lasted for a while, but not for the eternity.
„I just want to know one thing,"
„That's alright."
"Will I ever..be what I've.. always dreamed of?"
The question seemed unreal, but as unreal as it was, Izuku just flashed a smile as he stared at his old friend, ready to say something as if it were the whole secret of the world, but as soon as he opened his mouth, you found yourself suddenly entangled in the conversation.
"Hey, Mr. toughy, you want an answer, don't you?"
All attention was curiously on you, especially Katuski's, which grew more and more with time in his playful lungs.
„Promise me something, and the future is all yours…“
.
.
The prolonged silence was now erupted by a noise that was like a stick on drums, here and there, all around your head. Squinting with eyes that were sensitive to the brightness shining on you right now, you took some time to recover. Trying to remember at least something that would be clear.
Why were you in a hospital bed? You don't see any cuts or serious wounds on yourself. What happened?
"Ah, you're awake! And it's about time," smiled the old woman, standing calmly by the door, in her hands a small notebook and a pen that produced clicking sounds with the pressure of her finger.
You peeked out the window and saw that it must be daylight, also recording with your eyes the wedding ring that was safely placed on the table next to the hospital bed. The ring was safe, which made you very relaxed in this really confusing, yet so worrying moment.
Of course, the ring.
"Where is Izuku?"
"How could I have known that you would ask that first," smirking again, the woman took small steps to your bed. Now she was examining you as if you were covered in wounds, writing down that PhD stuff as usual.
"Oh sweetie, don't you worry now! He'll be back soon.“ But soon the lady saw thise stunning eyes of yours now in complete alarm, so she decided to make this aura brighter with some good information.
„However, I remember him saying he was going to visit Tartarus for a very short time."
"Why there..?"
"Ah, only the good heavens know what's he doing there. Want some water, sweetie? I couldn't offer you anything while you were unconscious, you know. Here, I'll bring you water and you just relax, so you can get more circulation back. I'll be quick!“
And with that, the lady slowly ran out into the hallway, hearing her heavy clogs clattering on the parquet floor in the distance. Really, nothing she said was ringing in your head, except for Izuku and Tartarus. Why do you remember absolutely nothing? Maybe you hit your head too hard, maybe...
"You will promise me something.."
"You won't touch Izuku anymore, because your futures aren't that different from now on.."
Maybe....
Maybe t—
"Here I am back!- With the water, of course! Take a sip, just be careful not to spill it on yourself, hihi."
„Oh. Right.“
.
.
.
Meanwhile, in Tartarus-
" If something generally got stuck in that vacuum of yours, you could bring it back, right? It's about uhm, important- very important documents uh, in the form of a.. notebook..yeahh.."

♡.ೃ࿐ SUMMARY: While you knew darkness and only that, you also knew fear. Lamenting and grieving was not even the slightest help, and all you could do was tear for the main resources if you wanted to continue breathing on this earth, to some extent still be on it.
Now finally saved, set free, finding a new job thanks to the great skills you were taught, you live among the light that luckily for you is too strong for your shadow-looking frame, realizing that some things remain as they are, in the form of consequences. And one of them is eating disorder.

Breathing in the cold air in silence, you looked down on everything you had a chance to see. Eyes down, you could see all sorts of people scattering here and there, traffic lights turning on and off, changing three different colors. Also, those cars in motion that reminded you of some kind of spots from above, just like people.
Looking up, you could see birds meandering towards every cloud they encountered before them, leaving not a single one unwelcomed. You've been observing them for a long time now and then, come to realize it, now you are just like them!
You're finally free.
You sit, doing absolutely nothing except catching good breaths and observing the surroundings to fix it if something goes down the hill. Cool, isn't it?
If only it used to be like that, just catching your soothing breath of fresh air and do what your heart longs for the most. You couldn't even describe what it was like in reality among it all, but everything you felt now that blossomed like spring flowers, back then, you couldn't even dare to feel something like that through your own veins.
Freedom, forgiveness, kindness, so many things to mention, and so many things little learned to mention, why? Of course it's because of that dirty-
 "Hey."
Your head dropped a little, catching another sight of those huge eyes that couldn't have been greener than this, serpentine orbs with those cheerful eyesbrows of his, dark and dense. They belonged to no one else but
"Deku,
what are you doing here? Weren't you with the group literally uh..15 minutes ago?- With- Uuuraraka, did I say it right, I think I did, yeah?“
„Uhm yes but!- somehow, you looked pretty lonely to me, and uh-well,“ and there it is again, you smiled.
A great order of words that will pop into his head pretty soon, shrugging off your shoulders at the thought you tilted head at one side, waiting oh-so-lovely for him to start his speech freshly.
„Look, maybe I'm going to sound horribly creepy right now but uh, lately I've been stalking- no-not in the sense of literally but, uhm, like, watching you and—“ carefully choosing the next words, he had already begun to lightly scratch himself behind his neck nervously, mustering all his strength to face what's been quite bugging him from time to time .
„Uh, it's like I haven't seen you at all in restaurants, or even in the nearest shops so that you can get something to eat during the little break that we all get on duty. Not only me, but also, Mr. Aizawa noticed the same thing and it.. worried me. So I-,“
The chatterbox that he is, he decided to pause for a moment to take out something from the small bag around his waist that looked too much like a..sandwich?
„..— Here, I was really hoping we could, uhm, talk it out?— But only if you would like to, of course..“
„Did you make this?“ you asked him out of wonder, staring at the food like it was poison.
"Not exactly! My mom helped a little, I didn't know what you really prefer, ham or salami..you aren't alergic to cheese, right?"
His constant chattering like a chicken always seemed pretty cute to you, even though you never dared to approach him first just like that, but this is also the first time that he also brought you a huge sandwich at such a chance.
But no matter how much you dreamed about the biggest ideas of your yet-to-be-built friendship, you unconsciously stopped with all that thinking while just staring at the sandwich that you held in your hands with a firm pressure as if it was ready to fall out.
Not wanting to waste his time any more than this and for nothing, you carefully took a small bite with the sharpness of your teeth, praying that nothing bad would happen, but no matter how you turned it, your stomach would still be against you whether you liked it or not. The second bite was already at the limit, you paused and once again, stared at the sandwich without thinking to turn your head towards him. Such discomfort created bubbles in your stomach that would inflate just enough to burst like an atomic bomb, causing so much panic and worry that you might even go crazy a couple of times.
„What's wrong? Is it the sandwich? I may have added too much seasoning..I-I knew I shouldn't, yo-you don't have to eat th—"
„No, stop. It's not that..“
Your heart was breaking little by little, not knowing how to explain, but for him, it's not that you knew him perfectly as a person, but it seemed to you that he was so stubborn that he wouldn't be able to shut up an leave you alone until you really told him what was involved in the knot that he would love to untangle.
You believed that Izuku wasn't some past you'd rather spit on, no. People who never approached you in this way with kindness that blossomed just like he did, even giving you food because he cares, you can never consider them part of your present, but a failed past to which you return almost always.
"You made a great sandwich, really, but.."
"But?"
And there it was, a lump in your throat once again.
"The problem is that I can't eat that much."
"That much? But it was only, well, not even those three bites, are you sure?" He continued to watch you in misery, and you would give anything in the world to go back in reverse and devour even this whole building under you if not this sandwich, but who are you fooling, really?
"It's complicated, you wouldn't understand, so why bother?"
"I promise I will if you just tell me.. you- I know you're not holding up very well, you know you can rely on me, don't you?"
„Just because you're a big-pro-hero it doesn't mean anything to me, especially when it comes to reliability, you know tha- really, you're smiling right now?"
Your gaze sharpened on his, having that very irritating feeling swirling in your lungs once again, but deciding to shove it aside abruptly. You were never sorry to see him all jolly like that, but it seemed like that was also one of the biggest reasons why you couldn't stay in your own depressed character for long. And that, you hated that.
"It's just, that I'm seriously worried..about you. From the very beginning, I've been watching how you're holding on here at the agency, and as far as I can tell, it's not exactly perfect with all your scared looks and constant lump-swallowing in your throat, especially when it comes to nutrition and environment. Now, I may be wrong, but I don't think that what I see from you is quite a sense of security and calmness. What do you think?"
You've completely absorbed yourself like a statue as if you were made of marble, like a statue whose heart soars on empty races, quite alarmed, if you asked him.
"It's just a shame, thats all."
"Shame, why?" He looked at you in confusion, now finding a bunch of free space to sit next to you. He really wanted to listen to you, even if it meant to force it out of you. This hero knew very well that some devil simply wouldn't give you peace just like that, and that's why he was here to fight it off with all his might, be it in a physical or mental sense, he was ready to beat the living crap out of it through you.
"It's a shame that it didn't use to be like, "Hey, it's okay" or maybe „There's no need to be so afraid“ or many other calming answers that now I, it's just hard to believe. You don't want to eat?- starve. You don't have time to eat?- starve. You want to eat?- first get rid of the corpses. You will starve, this way or that way."
And as soon as you felt your eyes burning, you quickly looked down, not choosing to look at anything but your throbbing legs hanging from the building and fists clenched together. Izuku noticed that, horrified by what you had to go through without anyone even knowing, not even him. He was able to get to you sooner, but someone was hiding you very well which even the thought of it made his blood boil in anger.
"How long were you forced to do such things?"
"I'm not sure myself, but I bet it's been a long time.. For years I didn't have the freedom that I barely celebrate today."
As much as Izuku wanted to express his disgusting emotions, he couldn't do it in front of you. His gaze softened very quickly when he realized that you no longer have to suffer whatever chaos confined you to corners, because now, those corners are gone. Now you are out in the open just like the birds you watched.
His heart melted seeing you so calm, remembering the first time he met you the day you took the first and biggest step forward, entering the super hero agency. He spent a lot of time observing your developed skills which you made even better progress in a better environment, jerking back to the present to find himself on the road in action.
Right now, he had a very important mission and you didn't even know it.
"Hey now, it might sound scary to adapt to a lot of new things, I understand, but change is what we consider the biggest proof of our success or failure, and either way, I'm here to help with my will, so don 't be too hesitant about it, at all.. "
He pointed with his hand at the sandwich you were holding so fiercely, letting you know to continue, and you just stared in amazement speechless.
"We can do this together, if you're afraid to be alone. Sometimes, it happens that I'm not quite hungry either, and then again, I have to restore the energy that I'll need later. That's why I came up with a very cool technique!" He smiled brightly, enjoying his ideas, no, it was because he was able to help, to be needed by someone in trouble, that was what it was all about. And it was very sweet of him, you thought.
"So here's what we're gonna do, after each bite, we'll wait up to... 45 seconds, is that alright? And then, you'll take another small bite, and we'll count again! I know you can do it, come on, let's go slowly, whatcha say?" he questioned holding your shoulder now, giving you those very best puppy eyes, eyeing the meal in your hands.
"As if you would leave me alone."
But still, you took a bite, very small one. Looking up at him as you silently tried to chew, already seeing the stars twinkling so visibly in his spirited eyes, telling you to keep going.
Staring at some nonsensical point in your clouded head already, making strange, muffled noises, painfully swallowing every little morsel after every 45 seconds, he wasn't happy to watch except that you were making progress. He didn't want you to struggle at all about this, really, he just wanted to help shorten your suffering, not to watch you suffer, and with that he took you in his cozy embrace for comfort.
Still holding the sandwich firmly in your hands and nibbling on it, you couldn't look away from the point that caught your eye, but you could already feel the soothing circling of his lovely fingers on your back, which went a little in a circle, then across, then up and down..it was pretty nice.
"4....3....2....aaaand just a few more small bites, 'kay? For your sake, and mine."
"Mhm, 'kay. But small ones."
"Small ones!"
And so after every 45 seconds, sometimes even hesitated for up to a minute, you still managed to work it out with the little of Izuku's help.
"I know it's not a small sandwich, but...I'd be very happy if you could at least get half way, I know you haven't eaten since yesterday evening. You just work and work and where is that energy that is most needed, huh? Tch, tch,“
You both smiled, a sweet tear shining down your face, leaning your head as deep as possible into the crook of his neck.
"You know, even though I haven't had a single chance to get in touch with a hero since before, let alone with you, I always believed that one day I would be saved, I believed that one day everything would be over, and here I am; sitting, observing, being happy..all thanks to y-"
"Shh, shh, two big bites now, let me see." he cooed at you, whereupon you decided to hastily take two slightly larger bites of the sandwich, slowly grabbing your stomach. Sure, It was a pain, but you knew that as long as he was around, everything would be just fine, you would be just fine. And so, proudly swallowing the last two victorious bites, you rested your entire weight on him, letting him hold the killer sandwich out of your grip.
"There we go! See, it wasn't that scary, huh? Relax now, you're okay. Here, lay your head on my lap, it'll be comfy." he took the sandwich saving it for later, keeping his other arm wrapped around you so you don't roll away like a pancake from him.
"You have a very good technique, although it's a pain in the ass no matter how you try it."
"You meant to say stomach," you both burst out laughing, but sweet things always come to an end quickly, gathering a large amount of air once again.
"But yeah, techniques, more precisely. I have many more, each for something. And this one is called "bite by bite!- but let's save that for later, right now I want you to just go zzz, can you do that for me, pretty please?"
He asked you sweetly, so how could you refuse? Imitating sleepy sounds that even you could make in a good few minutes, already closing your eyes as you were told. You hoped for a good sleep, but you were quite sure that after a well-fed stomach and gentle touches, you would doze off like a baby after all, who wouldn't?
"What about guarding the territory?"
"Jajaja-stop worrying, I'm here. Get some nice sleep, I know you need it." he whisper-shouted, waving off his arms in the air like an octopus.
And just like that, with a sigh, your mind floats among the clouds, lightly starting to snore in his arms like a child. No wonder you felt this good after all those brutal years. It wasn't like before, feeling now very gentle fingers trapped in your hair that make your whole body shiver under his touch, listening to the wonderful melodies of the angelic voice of his..having this "bite by bite" when you need it the most, when in pain.
