Saw weapons today!! As a queer person who has multiple illnesses mentally and physically, I loved it!! I’ll do a review soon, but me personally, I thought this film was fun and entertaining.
Someone literally accused Weapons of Homophobia over two spoilers.
Oh god this is Longlegs discourse again

Bones and All is a very complicated movie for me personally, I really wanted to like this more than I actually did. This movie got a lot right, but for me it wasn’t quite there. To summarize this movie it’s about people who are called “eaters “, and essentially their cannibals, but they’re born with it. Now to get this out of the way, I have not read the book and this review is only on the movie. I really enjoyed the concept of this in the originality of it, we often do see cannibals and horror, but nothing really like this. Marren has a main protagonist isn’t bad but I feel we don’t see her full potential. Obviously, she has a lot going on. She has to battle with being hungry, but feeling the guilt of eating people, which is something I heavily enjoyed about the movie, the questions it asked, but she just feels a little flat. Lee is fine, Timothée Chalamet’s performance is nothing out of the ordinary for him, but it’s decent enough. my main complaint about the movie in my opinion is that I never felt chemistry between the two of them, which is something I would’ve expected with a movie covering a topic like this, for anyone who’s unaware of this movie is an allegory for queer love, but you could also just take it as love in general. I never thought they really got to know each other or bond on a deeper level, maybe it’s just the pacing, but I wasn’t really a fan of them. Now to get into what I enjoyed, the cinematography of this movie is beautiful, the aesthetic is beautiful, and I really did enjoy the gore and effects. The ending was perfectly fine, dark and desolate which I really liked out of a film like this, I saw others saying not so much but me personally I did enjoy it, overall I think this film is good, I definitely will check out the book at some point, if I were you I would check this out and that’s my review!

As a long time horror fan I think I’m tired of this genre of movie. To summarize this movie it’s essentially about a famous popstar who decides to release an album for the first time in 30 years, and invites a group of people to visit him for a weekend, but not everything is as it seems. I’ve seen a lot of movies do this trope before such as Midsommar, Don’t Worry, Darling, Get Out, Blink Twice and The Menu, all these movies follow a plot of stuff not being as it seems, and also political commentary, and all these movies do it much better in my opinion. This movie is perfect perfectly fine on its own. I would say it’s just a bit boring at times I felt it was very slow. The main character is perfectly average, nothing new or extraordinary. Though I will say the practical effects were very good and there’s one scene with slight body horror, which I thought was pretty good.(you’ll know the one.) Cults are something I think can be used uniquely in horror, but most cult horror movies are similar nowadays, the end was meh. The acting is perfectly fine, nothing horrible nothing spectacular. I am happy. We are getting new movies especially new horror, but this one just didn’t really hit for me. overall, I would say support new horror, movies or new movies in general but I really wouldn’t watch this. There’s better movies with similar plots out there, like the ones I mentioned.

when I stepped into this movie, I expected something disturbing from the way TikTok and Instagram described it. This movie is completely child porn in my opinion or at least fails to get its message across. This movie is supposed to be about two young 14 year-old girls who mess around, party, and talk to older guys. I have never met a 14-year-old girl who behaves like the two main characters in this movie. Call me a prude, but I think this movie is grossly over sexualizing young girls, and could’ve went without it to still try to get its message across, so what is its message? This is supposed to be based on a true story, that’s what it says at the beginning, but it’s not at the end you can see in the credits. It says all events in this movie are fictitious. To summarize the movie quickly as the title suggest Megan does go missing, she gets kidnapped by an older guy, and her friend goes to find her. I think the acting in this movie is mediocre. There are some moments where I was impressed but all the material that’s supposed to be ‘ disturbing’, really isn’t. I’m someone who enjoys body horror and gore, but this movie has a little of that though I’m not saying you need that to make a horror movie or thriller disturbing but those are aspects that can make it disturbing. I think the most disturbing thing about this is the fact that there’s so many graphic rape scenes. Which again these are supposed to be 14 year-old girls, I’m not saying something like this couldn’t happen in real life and I understand that’s what the movie is trying to get at. But was it really necessary to show the graphic rape scenes? This movie honestly could’ve worked. I really do like true crime esc movies, and it could be a good warning to young girls who were on the Internet, but this movie feels so fake and like it’s trying to be scary and freak you out, but misses the memo. Everyone always talks about the barrel scene and the photos but honestly, it wasn’t anything too bad, I think the main shock again came from the fact that these girls were only 14 which in my opinion isn’t a good way to disturb viewers.
Overall, I really would not recommend this movie, I really watched it just to say that I have and see if it really was the as scary as people said it was and obviously no it was not.
