No one is perfect.  The great thing about abstract art is what you see. Of course when I paint my flowers, yes it looks like flowers, but they are not “perfect”. I do not want them to be perfect. To be perfect, it would not have any flaws.  There is no fun in perfection. Let’s be REAL, we were born to be Real not fake, and of course not perfect.  So I like to recreate flowers to be different, “strange” not having the perfect color or shape.

It’s fun to be different, let your inner person shine!!  You do not need to impress anyone, be you!!  If people judge you , that is on them… You are perfect in your own special “strange” way.   No one can take that away from you.

  The Stranger the Better No one is perfect.  The great thing about abstract art is what you see. Of course when I paint my flowers, yes it looks like flowers, but they are not "perfect".

The more details when creating my flower art the more you notice the things that make you happy.  Nothing else matters in that moment.

So I will share with you what I used to get started and in turn hopefully to inspire you to pick up that palette knife, and get your mind off all your worries and anxieties that the day can bring..

I have been missing in action this last month or so.. So much going on and new ideas are flooding my mind.

My youngest son had surgery and my time away has been spent with him and taking care of my boys, because not only do I paint , I home school my 2 boys.

Over this last month I found a new passion for creating and painting abstract flowers on canvas. It helps me to remember to be in the moment, to notice the small things. I always feel like I rush through every moment of life. Whether it be chores, or running errands around the town.  The stress build up so much and the anxiety kicks in like a mother… If you know what I mean?

As I go on walks with my dog, I have really been noticing the beauty around the fresh smell of flowers blooming, the delicacy of each petal. The vines that these beauties grow on.  WOW!!! To just Stop and take it all in.. There is no worry or anxiety when this fills my mind.

So these last couple of night I have been creating some masterpieces, as I call them:)

Canvas Art meets, Palette knife, modeling paste, acrylic paint, and yes I dabble in some oils 😉 that is a new one for me. palette knives,modeling paste, heavy body acrylic paint

The peace that this type of painting brings me is really beyond words for me. I’d love to share this journey with you and hoping to inspire all you artist out there just getting started, or just for art therapy
