catelyn competing with a woman who never actually existed to maintain her status as lady of winterfell vs cersei competing with a younger and more beautiful queen, who is everyone and no one, to maintain her status as queen.

catelyn and cersei knowing that their power as highborn women is wholly dependent on their fathers and husbands and sons. sinking their teeth in and refusing to let go. never forgetting how easily they can be replaced. forever haunted by a woman lurking in the shadows (she’s not real) (she’s everywhere).

1. Dagmar and Iva Clegane- you know them you love them my ASOIAF Gregor Clegane daughter ocs that probably have half of the DSM-5 disorders. They’re half sisters bc Gregors wives keep mysteriously dying. Dagmar is a copy and paste of her uncle (aggressive, passively (?) suicidal, antisocial, constantly in fight or flight, unable to regulate her emotions etc etc). And Iva is like if a neglected orphaned physically stunted lamb made a wish to become human she’s selectively mute and physically frail she disassociates most of the time it’s honestly a miracle she’s alive. They count as one OC bc they’re unhealthy codependent and would meld into each other if they could ❤️

2. Bernadette Chauvin- an character from one of my own wips ab a Cajun French family who leaves their home in central Louisiana to pursue an opportunity in New Orleans, and how their lives slowly fall apart from the end of WW1 to the beginning of the Great Depression. She’s the youngest of seven, a wild eyed and high spirited girl who loves an adventure and she steadily has to watch her father get crushed under the weight of familial responsibilities, her sister accusing her of “seducing” her husband, one brother kill himself after the stock market crash, another lose himself to hedonism, and two of his siblings have their health fail bc modern medicine isn’t there yet. She spends the rest of her life longing to go back to the way things were 👍🏻

3. Magda Baratheon- yet another ASOIAF oc, she’s Robert, Stannis, and Renlys youngest sister. Parents died looking for Rhaegars bride not long after she was born. Didn’t really have parental figures growing up: Robert was a king, Renly was an uninterested brother, and Stannis was more of a ward. She’s boisterous and charismatic stubborn and quick witted but also deeply lonely and longing for connection. After Robert dies Renly takes her with him bc he can use her as a chip in alliances. Then Renly dies and Stannis comes and gets her for the same reason but also grudging brotherly responsibility and Magda can only go along with it. Eventual married her off to some lord by the wall to secure an alliance in the north. And this guy loves the watch he’s constantly visiting and sending men, so Magda has to be pregnant and even give birth at the wall once. Forces Jon to be her friend. Gay for Meera. Probably my best work

4. My 4 princesses- can’t choose just one but there are my four characters in a low fantasy story I lovingly call an ASOIAF rip off. Takes place amidst a war that breaks out over the kidnapping of a royal family that was engineered by a cult and it kind of snowballs from there. Characters include: one princess from the kidnapped family that escaped and has to hide among the enemy as a nun. She’s antisocial, mean, and lesbian. Another princess of a militant kingdom that comes to the defense of the one who’s being accused of the kidnapping, she takes on the responsibilities of the eldest son while not being treated as one. Competent and logical and the most stable of the main four but has tremendous daddy issues and self esteem in the gutter. A third princess whose dad is the king of the ally of the kidnapped royals, so she’s left alone to run the country while pregnant and surrounded by scheming advisors. She’s unabashedly ambitious and wants to be queen over her elder brother, and hates motherhood. And then the final princess, being puppeted by the cult, her family and friends are picked off one by one so she has no one else to rely on. Very kind and optimistic, however she’s unfortunately very susceptible to religious brainwashing. Love them some of my first ever complex ocs

5. Dr. Vivianne Myer-Lund: the mother of the main character in a story I call “Malpractice” about a family that owns a medical empire and likes to get unethical with it. The illegitimate daughter of a famed neurologist, she had to claw her way up to become the renowned oncologist she is. Very eccentric and almost like a mad scientist, has an insatiable need for recognition and prestige after being ignored by everyone around her for most of her life. Her and her fellow doctor husband, a brilliant but mild mannered man who nonetheless supports her questionable work, began building their empire after Viviannes father finally recognized her talent and started bankrolling them. Uses her private clinic to conduct research and treatments that really push the limits of HIPPA and most ethical concerns. Crazy old lady I love you

If there was an "Eighth God" of Westeros, what would it be?

Probably a sort of ferryman/messenger/wanderer/everyman. Very much an Hermes-esque character, popular among orators, travelers, merchants, messengers, etc. Watches over crossroads, caravans, ships and the like. However he’s been transformed a bit outside of official doctrine to be a bit of a mischievous Loki character as well, being seen as someone who will reward thieves and liars, something the High Septon viciously denies as part of scripture. Is often invoked by wandering septons and begging brothers
