As you can see, the myth just started to grow, characters and ships and tropes being added one after the other, almost bizzarely without contradiction, until there was enough of shape to the whole thing for people to start posting fanfic about it on AO3. in all seriousness, things i liked about Dune:

- images of bulls as a repeating visual motif indicating oncoming doom (after we establish that Paul’s grandfather died fighting one)

- the relationship between Paul and Duncan Idaho; if Denis Villenueve gets his way with adapting Dune Messiah i will 100% be willing to believe that Paul would jump at the chance to get Duncan back even knowing that it’s a trap

- the effects for the shields and the easy-to-follow visual cue of blue for a shield that’s holding and red for a shield that’s failing

- Javier Bardem playing a version of Stilgar that is just.  so done with everything, all the time.  the dude literally has a knife to his throat and is like “oh ffs chill out”

- little low-tech touches like the ornithopters having rearview mirrors, implying without outright stating the existence of the Butlerian Jihad in this universe’s history

- just the fucking scale of everything.  like an interstellar ship parked in orbit around a planet spitting out an itty-bitty shuttle, and then that itty-bitty shuttle actually lands and you’re like, oh, it’s actually the size of a fucking building

My two friends came down to visit me for the first time since I moved + pandemic started. It was the first time i felt normal.

Now that they’ve gone home my heart is heavy and misses them. I already feel out of place again. Home is where the heart is and it feels like it’s left me.

I want to start manifesting friendships and relationships and stop feeling depressed and heavy-hearted all the time.

Now that I’ve actually had them here, maybe I can start feeling normal again

Analysis

Previous year in summary : this year was a year of stagnation for sure. Only the new job. No other goals at all

Lessons learned : I learned a lot about family trauma, and how that affects my life and my own health; i’ve also noticed how boundaries between me and my mother are not healthy and how I need to heal my own mental trauma

 aspirations for the next 12 months: this suggest I should not blaze my new path of growth with a sword and violence, but grow quietly and softly assert myself. The image of the blade and horns pointed upwards suggest that I go forward softly, but with the sword drawn and ready, to show that, should I need it, I will be able to protect myself.

What empowers in reaching for your aspirations : I believe this refers to my battle with my own will power. It means that my own power will not be enough to motivate me; I need to start relying on others to help me reach my goals. Encouragement, rather than force of will power

What may stand in the way of me reaching my aspirations: I cannot go on pretending that everything is now covered I need to truly sit down with myself and ask “what do I really want? Does this goal/ person help me grow or keep me stagnant? Who am I and who do I want to be?”

Your relationships and emotions in the coming year: in the coming year that will be less compassion and I need to be prepared. OR I need to be compassionate to those who have taken advantage of their relationship with me. Both can be true at the same time (EDIT: I think the first is more true than the 2nd)

Your career and your finances: with many financial obligations coming in the year, it is time to take control of your finances and move forward with confidence break free from your old habits. With work, examine what is that you really want and do it. you are RAW, EMPOWERED AND {BRAZEN}-> note/why did this word come to mind

 your health and well-being: do not sit and I would wait for health problems to go away take action and do not let people tell me what you should wait for. Things that REQUIRE ACTION: [3 personal medical appointments] -> body health with Gym: this battle needs to become a priority eating healthy, limiting alcohol, working out at least four times a week

Your spiritual energy and inner fulfillment: City dwelling and being cooped up inside has made things incredibly difficult. nature is where I need to seek and live my spiritual self

What I need to focus most on in the year to come: It is time to stop blaming feet things out of our control form where things are - Time to forge our own path ahead.

Most important lesson from this coming year: this year I will change my foundational pillars, they may even reverse. It may fundamentally change who I am and the structure of me shall change. The very foundation who I am made.

Over on rank you are headed in the next 12 months : love will change in meaning and I will still be without romantic love.
