recently entered that phase where i care about my hobbies again but that means whenever i have free time i sit on my bed like. do i write? do i crochet? do i needle felt? do i do some watercolours? do i read? do i research? do i scrapbook? do i cross stitch? do i just shoot myself?????? there are not enough hours in the day !

it's fascinating to me when people announce they're leaving a fandom. personally if ive ever had even a passing interest in a piece of media that baby is taking up permanent residence in my brain. there are shows i haven't watched in 15 years that i would still consider myself a fan of if it happened to come up in conversation. what do you mean you can just leave. how.

It's incredible to me how we, as writers, can wear so many skins.

We write as genders, not our own, in worlds that don't exist.

We slip into the bodies of the powerful, the ruthless, the fearless, while sitting in a one-bedroom apartment, praying for stable WiFi.

Writers are shapeshifters. Necromancers. Magicians. We build universes out of coffee and anxiety.

every day i struggle between the choice of writing or ao3-ing or tumblr-ing before i inevitably have to sleep and it's a terrible terrible struggle

The most annoying thing that happens while you're writing is... forgetting the word but knowing the vibe.

I am not lying when I say, I spent 5-10 mins repeatedly trying to grab something out of air just to remember 'reach out'.

Like why does my brain work like that.

Writing is basically falling in love with an idea,

then immediately doubting if you're good enough for it.

Love at first sight quickly turns into anxiety at first paragraph.

i opened my doc, stared at it, switched tabs to tumblr, came back and closed my doc before realising i didnt actually get any writing done

is this the writing equivalent to walking into a room and then forgetting what you wanted to do and walking out
