A random thought I had while listening to Hamilton cause I'm so into Hamilton rn, Inho is so Aaron Burr coded to me and in the song "The Room Where It Happens" Hamilton says "What do you want, Burr? If you stand for nothing, what will you fall for?" and he answears with "I wanna be in the room where it happens." It got me thinking about Inho and how...he wants to be in the room where it happens. This is the problem. He wants to be in the room where it happens. Gihun wants to stop the games, Inho wants to remain Frontman. But also...can anyone really blame him? My personal headcanon [but this is just my opinion, keep in mind] is that he wasn't even frontman until recently, he had to earn it, he was a pink guard and he climbed the ranks for years before finally being in charge...and here comes Gihun with his loving beautiful eyes wrecking everything he worked for years to have. Especially after Il-Nam's death, he was finally on his own.

Headcanons I have about Inho and his wife because I've been thinking about them.

We don't know much about her so keep in mind these are probably not canon, just thoughts I have about them, also happy Inho before the games living as a police officer/detective.

• she's the one who encouraged him to get the promotion to detective when the position opened because he was just a cop when they first met.

• inspired by a vine, she ordered two cakes for him while he was interviewing for the position, one with "congratulations, mr detective! didn't doubt you for a second!" and one with "screw being a detective, who wants to solve crimes anyway?" depending on wheter he'd get it or not. They opened the wrong one and laughed about it, he loved it.

• ocasionally, she used to solve Inho's cases. Inho used to hyperfocus on details while solving a case so when it was late at night and he spent hours hunched over the same papers, she looked over it and sometimes she would point out something he hadn't thought of and they had those moments of "You're a genius, a genius I'm telling you. I love you so much." while kissing and hugging her.

• when he was in police uniform, she used to pull Inho closer by his handcuffs to kiss him.

• slightly nsfw, they had a lot of inner jokes with each other, but one time after they did it, he jokingly said "I think we broke the law" and it became a thing between them so in public when he'd ask her "Do you wanna break the law later?" he'd actually ask if she wants to have sex but only they knew about it, lol. Junho heard them once and was actually concerned that night.

• on her free days, she used to swing by his office at the police station. She learned the names of all the dogs they had and used to buy them fancy treats.

• she accidently punched him in the face once. He was training with Junho when she walked in the gym and watched them fight. Inho always went harder on Junho when she was watching bcs he wanted to show off, lol. After they were done, she hugged him and snatched the gun at his belt. Pointed it at him and they playfully bantered about it, Junho grinning in the back. Eventually he wanted it back and she went "Fight me for it." and assumed a very sloppy fighting stance, fists clenched. Inho would never dare swing at her so instead he pushed a few hair strands behind her ear, romantically. She swung though. She truly didn't expect to hit him, but she punched him in the face. Junho couldn't stop laughing and even she said "you're a cop, I thought you'd block me!" He was annoyed at first, but after the pain dulled he smiled about it.

• so much of his police life was tied to her, even if he wouldn't have become the Frontman, he still would've changed careers because he couldn't bare the same routine without her.

• she loved pets and used to stop and pet random cats and dogs, like Gi-hun did in season 1.

• they kissed in the rain at least once. they have to. please. If I need one thing canon between them in a frontman spinoff, is to have them kiss in the rain once.

• he used to buy her flowers when coming home from work, especially if it was late at night.

• she was either an orphan or had a bad relationship with her parents bcs it looks like the families are no longer in touch at all and all the pressure of her illness seems to fall on his shoulders, also only the hwang brothers seem to visit her grave so she probably had no active parents, either dead or abandoned. I think coming into such a loving family was overwhelming at first, for her.

• Jun-ho showed her emberassing pictures with his brother from their childhood, and it wasn't so overwhelming anymore.

• she wanted to be a mother more than anything in the world.

• its mentioned she had acute cirrhosis so it was sudden rather than chronic, I headcanon she got that from an infected needle at the dentist. Basically a patient before her had cirrhosis and the doctor/nurse forgot to change the needle so she got it. Could've been any needle, even a blood transfusion but I like the dentist idea mostly because it ties in nicely with Gi-hun getting a dental procedure to hide the tracker in his tooth and it probably gave Inho a few heart skips when he noticed it, maybe he even checked around his gums for an infected needle mark, then he was relived when he didn't find any mark at all because Gi-hun did it without anesthethic.

• on this note, she never liked medical procedures or needles and because it was such a terminal illness, she sometimes skipped doses of cirhosis treatment without telling him.

• she only talked about him before she died. Mostly to Jun-ho.

• she told Jun-ho "I don't think I'm gonna see him again" but Jun-ho was all like "No, we'll find him. It's not like him to dissappear so suddenly." She just shaked her head, she knew.

He cried a lot in the hospital.

also I made a playlist for them, its their love story so a bunch of a sweet lovey songs until "Soon You'll Get Better" then its slowly going into illness songs and the song "As The World Caves In" is what I picture for the night she dies, same night he kills all those players, then a few sad songs from his perspective after her death, the playlist starts with her perspective and ends with his. I'm in my Hamilton era and listening to The Schuyler Sisters got me thinking about a co-frontman Inhun AU idea. So listen to my declaration...

Inho's wife dies but she had enough time to give birth to a baby girl and everything in season 1 and 2 goes as usual, except Inho has this 5-6 years old daughter running around the island, his pride and joy.

10-12 years later, Gihun and Inho are married and they're both frontmen. Ga-yeong grew up on the island alongside Inho's daughter, they're sisters. Inho and Gihun also adopt Junhee's baby and name her Junhee after her mom. Three sisters growing up together.

The Seong-Hwang Sisters.

Kinda like the Schuyler Sisters.

Ga-yeong falls for a pink guard, Inho's daughter falls for a girl player and infiltrates her to the management area as a VIP while trying to hide her from her dad and keep her alive, they have their own adventures.

Oh, in my head I think he specifically rushes the countdown during jump rope so Gi-hun doesn't have time to go back and get her because he's not about to risk his boyfriend over this poor girl, he already has to deal with her spwan of the system.

While I am Team 'Junhee reminded Inho of his late wife', I am also Team 'And Inho loathed her for it'.

dare I say Jung-bae was as important to Gi-hun as Jun-ho was to his brother? I don't trust people who don't like Jung-bae and they just dismiss him as 'he was cool', he is literally the only person who gets Gi-hun to be more like his old self for a moment. And his death was badass af.

trying to convince a long-distance friend to watch squid to watch squid game with me over face call genuinely feels like I'm forcing good food down their throat.

Listen. I know Jun-ho fell off a cliff into water, but I still think its kinda hilarious the way both of the brothers dealed with a bullet.

Inho raw-dogged that out of his own shoulder all alone. In his private quarters. With a towel and forceps probably from the operating rooms.

Junho needed MONTHS LONG HOSPITALIZATION-

tubes and his mother by his side.

but then again he did fell off a cliff into water so its justified.

In my head, Jun-Ho and Il-Nam are hospitalized in the same hospital and Inho walks that hospital like a jump rope between the lower floors where his little brother is unconcious and the upper floors where Il-Nam wants to chat before his final breaths. About the future of the games.

What I think were some of Inho's silly inner thoughts while watching the games in season 1.

Red Light/Green Light

- He had to play this one during his 2015 games, he doesn't like it but its the quickest way to lessen the number of players. I'm pretty sure he skipped playing it in S2.

- Usually thinks "First one down..." once the mass shooting starts.

- Doesn't care for any of the players yet but watches Il-Nam, grumbling about his sick old smile and how he wishes someone would put a bullet through his tumor head. He hates that old man.

- Gets frustrated and starts playing "Fly me to the Moon" while the shooting happens.

Dalgona

-"Damn, that ass perfect." *shamlessly zooms in on Gi-hun's ass*

-"IS HE LICKING THE COOKIE????" he secretly thinks its kinda smart

-"wish I were that cookie."

- As the timer runs out, he starts thinking Gi-hun's not gonna make it but then he does last minute, leaving him quite impressed.

Tug of War

- I think he doesn't get to watch this one. He's busy with the intruder, his brother, and preparing for the VIPS.

- Everything that could've gone wrong with the VIPS goes wrong. Canonically. One of them ends up collapsed in the private room because of trying to SA his brother and its Inho's first time hosting the games without Il-Nam over him so he kinda takes it as his own personal failure to host them peacefully. He's frustrated about it.

- He later notices player 456 and his perfect ass made it through Tug of War and he feels better about his day because at least he's still playing.

- If he were to watch it, I think he'd be impressed on the techinique with leaning back and tricking your opponent by stepping forward.

Marbles

- struggles to not laugh at Gi-hun following Il-Nam desperately to get him to play.

- "why you looking at me for? I can't do anything."

- secretly hopes Gi-hun will slap the old man, but ofc he doesn't.

- he immediately knows Il-Nam is toying with Gi-hun and faking this sudden amnesia, but he's curious how it will play out.

- he feels digusted with how Il-Nam frames this as such a heartbreaking sacrifice just to traumatize this poor player more.

- also the stunt Sangwoo pulls on Ali confirms to him even more humans will do anything to survive.

- [player 001 eliminated]

In-Ho: -I wish... *gets up to welcome him respectfully*

Glass Bridge

- he watches this one with the VIPs

- asks the VIPs if he can throw in a hint specifically because of Gi-hun, and then wants to facepalm himself when Gi-hun takes the hint to run to the first place.

-"Who even wants to go first on a deadly competition?? This guy has a dead wish??"

-sits quietly but seething behind the mask until Gi-hun switches to the last place with that man.

-the fact that one of the players has experience with glass and manages to cheat the rules feels like another mistake on Inho, even though he apologies. He genuienly feels like a failure at hosting the game.

Squid Game

- he feels wary of Sangwoo.

-its mainly two guys beating each other in the rain so he doesn't think there's much to it, but watches because he has to.

- when Gi-hun calls to terminate the games early without the money, In-ho feels like its his last drop and possibly the end of his career as Frontman, they should hire someone else to host the games.

- the last minute suicide and sacrifice from Sangwoo thrills the VIPs.

- Inho just breathes a sigh of relief that this edition is over.

-He likes player 456 survived.

this is mostly just silly, but I love Inho and this account should have silly stuff. Let me know if ya'll want a part 2 with his thoughts during the season 2 games.
