Actual journalist here:
A lot of people have made some good points about reading comprehension and other stuff in the comments so I’ll try to give others points.
1.     Journalistic writing is a lot closer to non-fiction books than academic papers. You expect that the person righting them has done their own research and is presenting all that work in the best and cleanest possible way to tell the true story.  In academic articles, attributions are there to show your work (to teachers) and for other academics to do their own research and dig further into it. For journalistic writing, we try to give you all the information our audience needs to know in the article. There is also the level of professionalism where we, as journalist, have done the work to authenticate this information so our readers don’t have to.
2.     For the majority of articles, sources are mentioned in the article, but mostly to give the story more context. The purpose isn’t to show your work, but to get the point across in the clearest way possible. For instance, for a story I did on a humane society shelter I talked to someone who works there to confirm their hours. When I put there hours in the article I then didn’t attribute where I got that information because it doesn’t really help the reader to know where I got that information. However, when that person told me how important the shelter is for saving local animals, I attributed that. In that case, it is helpful for the reader to know that information came from someone who sees that work first-hand.
3.     Journalists take anonymous sourcing very seriously. I personally have never even used an anonymous source, but I work at a local paper and am not doing a lot of reporting on things that could get people fired or arrested. When a journalist decides to use a anonymous source, they are putting their reputation on the line. If the information they are given turns out to be false and they used it anyway, it could be career-ending. And when the government can try to compel journalists to give up their anonymous sources, many journalists choose to be in contempt of court, don’t give up those sources and may serve jail time because of it. So it’s a really big deal.
4.     Because it’s a big deal, these journalists try to corroborate the information they receive from anonymous sources with other sources to make sure its true, thus the plural “sources.” It’s a lot easier to believe and publish something five people have told you is true than one.
Anyway, your post did make me kinda chuckle, but there is a lot that goes into the news media that a lot of people don’t understand. Sure there are mistakes, but for the most part journalists spend a lot of their time trying to make sure everything they publish is true, even if you don’t see it in a attribution. Knowingly publishing false information is probably the worst sin a journalist could commit. Anyway, end of rant. Hope this at all helps.
School essays require correctly formatted citations/bibliography pages, yet major news publications only include “according to sources.”

Conversation
theatre people as john mulaney quotes
Actors: You have the moral backbone of a chocolate eclair.
Director: In terms of, like, instant relief, canceling plans is like heroin.
Sound techs: The more you do stuff, the better you get at dealing with how you still fail at it a lot of the time.
Light techs: No one knows what you're talking about, you idiot!
Stage manager: You ever have those days where something happens and you're like... whatever, this may as well happen?
Assistant stage manager: I like when things are crazy. Something good comes out of exhaustion.
Stage crew: I am very small, and I have no money. You can imagine the kind of stress I'm under.
Set builders: This is an on-fire garbage can. ...Could be a nursery.
Props department: Because it's the one thing you can't replace.
Costume department: Hi, I'm very gay, and I'd like a few dollars.
Makeup people: I don't look older. I just look worse.
Publicity team: You know how you lie to your parents?
Budget board: Eat ass, suck a dick, and sell drugs.
Audience: I'm really sorry about last night, it's just that I'm mean and loud.

Chess is a game of strategy, and while all pieces have an assigned value at the start, during play, strength is constantly shifting and changing, depending on the moves. But the overall outcome remains the same. The King is the central piece, the Queen is his strength and protector, and the other pieces act on their behalf, to guard and capture.

New Sitcom Idea
A lesbian couple gets a shocking surprise one day when God (played by Laverne Cox) shows up at their door. Upset at how humans had turned her message of love and acceptance into a message of hate and discrimination, she decides it’s time to send Jesus back to earth and wants the lesbian couple to raise Jesus. Hilarity ensues.
