(das ist nicht ganz der richtige link, aber egal) es ist sonntag und damit an der zeit dass ich mal wieder etwas poste, da es mir aber absolut dreckig geht und ich deshalb seit tagen nix anderes als franz angst schreiben kommt jetzt nur dieses kleine wirklich nicht besonders gute notfall chapter und nächste woche dann hoffentlich wieder was besseres :)

ich hab die erste mit ihm gesehen von 1972 und eine spätere folge von 1991 oder so wo er im leipzig tatort nochmal nen längeren gastauftritt hatte und er ist definitiv ganz anders wie franz und ivo aber iwie auch fun idk

das beste find ich ist dass er auch einen dackel hat der im präsidium chillt mit der parallele zu franz mit ludwig🩵

Old Tatort München (Veigl) night on BR tonight

For anyone who's interested: BR is doing some kind of Kommissar Veigl marathon tonight with 3 episodes from '77, '73 and '79 in a row. Properly ancient Tatort.

I have never watched any Veigl episodes - no idea if he's any good. Looks like they really changed the vibe when they introduced Franz and Ivo, though. :D

Might give one of the later ones a short peek just out of curiosity.

I think this is objectively a good Tatort. It's one of these where it's clear who the murderer is from the start - including to Franz and Ivo - it's all about catching him before he kills more people. Specifically, his children, whom he has kidnapped.

But I can't say I enjoy it? The guy is such a massive creep, and he's massively creepy the entire time (kudos to the actor!). I'm scared he'll kill his kids any minute. I find that hard to watch.

However, the Franz/Ivo content here is peak! This episode has a strong theme of getting older, having a bit of a midlife crisis, questioning what you did with your life. (I think Franz is heartbroken that Ivo maybe doesn't think what they have together was worth the sacrifices.) The case also really makes them suffer emotionally, and, as usual, they muddle through without dealing with it.

So, it is a good film! Fans should watch it, but prepare to be sad and creeped out.

Verdict in one phrase: Very good but unpleasant to watch. Beginner watch? Probably not.

Number 20 is one of those iconic 90ies episodes, for good reason. Dark, weird (complimentary), a little camp, some gay jokes that maybe aren't jokes. Unhinged ending.

The first episode where we really see both Franz and Ivo with greying hair (I like them with grey hair!). We also get more of Franz's past - this time the opposite of his wild 20ies as a leftist squatter; it's all about when he was still a devout catholic at a younger age. (Franz gets the more interesting backstory of the two, doesn't he.)

The case is one of these where we as the viewers know more than Franz and Ivo from the start - from the title card onwards, really! We can vaguely tell what the murders are about while they're still totally in the dark.

I like every bizarre minute.

Verdict in one phrase: Weird in a good way. Beginner watch? Go ahead and bask in the weirdness.

sein auge ist bissl weird aber sonst schon okay, es war halt das zweite was ich gemacht hab und da hatte ich den dreh schon mehr raus deshalb ist es auch weniger verblendet was ich halt ganz cool finde aber ist halt subjektiv

weil auch ich ein konsumopfer bin hab ich vor nem jahr ca. um 10€ gouache farben erwoben wobei ich keine ahnung hab wie man mit denen umgeht dann dreimal was damit gemalt und die dann mit der ausrede "ich benutz die schon nochmal" in meiner schfeibtischschublade verschwinden lassen, aber heute war der tag an dem diese ausrede dann wahr wurde und ich mal probiert hab ivo und franz mit gouache zu malen, ivo folgt dann hoffentlich später noch

ngl ich hab keine ahnung was ich gemacht hab, die schatten hätten dunkler sein müssen und allgemein passt so manches nicht ganz aber es war tzm ganz fun

und ngl ich bin schon stolz idk iwie find diesmal siehts sogar actually aus wie ivo und franz also jetzt nicht perfekt aber das ist imo eins der besten seit langem

und franz sah auch nicht so schlecht aus aber mit ivo gings dann komplett berg ab, wobei gab schon schlimmere ngl

als ich die letzten tage so gerewatched hab, bin ich iwie auf die idee gekommen franz und ivo zu dem song in der karaokebar zu editen, ich geb zu der anfang ist echt lang und auch iwie recht dramatisch, aber iwie ist das so mein ding, dass ich mich jedes mal mit meinen edits selber brech aber naja

You know what's interesting: In the early episodes it's always Ivo who gets angry easily (often with very good reason), and Franz has to hold him back to stop him from doing something stupid, like punching people.

But as they age, that dynamic actually mostly inverts. Ivo gets milder with age, whereas Franz is just less and less willing to take any shit at all (also usually with good reason), and then Ivo has to hold him back. See Der Oide Depp and Freies Land, for example.

I really like this as a piece of characterisation:

Ivo mellows out and kind of grows wiser with age, while Franz is at some point just past letting any kind of injustice stand anymore.

And when it's about protecting each other, they both go all the way at all times, like always. Beautiful. 🥲♥️

ich gebs zu es ist ultra schlimm ich weiß nicht was ich hier für monster erschaffen hab, es tut mir leid, ich habs wirklich versucht und 1000 mal rumprobiert aber es ist nur so semi besser geworden (die ivo felix mutation iykyk💀), naja kommen hoffentlich wieder bessere

ich präsentiere die schteckliche nr. 65 aus "aus der tiefe der zeit", auch crazy folge die ich bisher fast nur während dem zug fahren gesehen hab und deswegen mit der wunderschönen/j niederösterreichischen landschaft verbinde

(Don't blame me for the bad screenshots, number 17 is once again very poorly lit and also only available in bad quality.)

After two pretty out-there episodes, we're back to the basics. This is, plot- and topic-wise, an utterly straight-forward Tatort: A policeman has been shot in a shopping centre, and Ivo and Franz have to solve the case in under 48h so as not to ruin Kriminalrat Flach's precious crime-solving statistic.

As so often on Tatort, we have crooked policemen involved with drugs - I've remarked before what a popular theme this is. So Ivo and Franz have to investigate their own colleagues.

This gives plenty of screentime to what I like to call "Competent Asshole Franz" - you know, the thing he does where he's really to the point, dry and ice-cold when he's trying to find out stuff. This is a facet of his character I appreciate. I also appreciate the long hair he had in the 1997 episodes. Franz with long curls, being a bit of an asshole - but in a good way - does things to me. (Tbh it still does things to me when he does it with short hair later.)

So, this is basic, but I think it's good! You know, solid Tatort workmanship. I'd love to have seen a bit more of the resolution at the end, but as so often, the fate of the side characters is left open.

(Instead we get a closing scene that kinda reads like Ivo and Franz setting up a date?)

Verdict in one phrase: Solid TV crime-solving. Beginner watch? Sure.

Petition to bring back Laura for Unvergänglich!

I know, I know, they're already done filming. So I guess I'm saying I'll be disappointed if she isn't in it. With them hinting at bringing back some old characters, she'd be the obvious choice (besides Carlo).

I would like to learn what she did with her life in the past 35 years.

(It looks like the actor Manuela Bauer doesn't work as an actor anymore. She now appears to be primarily a writer. But, y'know, she could do it again just this once.)
