The way modern KH fandom talks about Axel and Saïx in such an intertwined but painfully ironic way is really interesting to me. Guysssss I just pointed out Axel was maybe kind of a bad person in CoM and he likeee lied to Xion and Roxas…. hes obviously never had any consequences for it (ignore CO biting him in the ass when Xion got caught up in it and called him out +him being forced to go on the missions to bring Roxas/Xion back after they run away because they didn’t trust him anymore and getting his ass beat both times or the times near the end of Days where he did try to be honest or the fact that everything he was worried about happening if he told the truth did end up happening when they found out anyways) so he’s basically undeserving of anything….. I am so smart and original for not liking the character you’re supposed to like waiiiitt.

Which is why everyone loves Saïx now after his rushed khIII redemption arc that ignored everything he did to anyone who wasn’t Axel outside of an “I was jealous,” immediately followed by a “well I wouldn’t have been jealous if YOU just didn’t get depressed by living in this shitty cult and instead stayed hunting this goose egg from 10 years ago.. maybe you should’ve thought about THAT before I made the berserkers beat you over the head or tried to isolate you or tried to beat your friend when I realized I couldn’t isolate you”
