Sebas Porto talked about being friends with the Barros brothers and it made me think about what it must've felt like being practically the only south americans racing in europe, and how you inevitably flock towards each other because it's a bit like putting together pieces of your community and creating a home away from home 🥺 just the fact that the great majority of drivers and riders from south america who participate in world championships have to move across the Atlantic to another continent all on their own at 14/15 to even have the slightest chance of making it...

I also remembered Franco's dad getting emotional just talking about how tough of a decision it was for them as parents to let him move to Spain alone and how everybody told them it was crazy and dangerous because it WAS, but there just isn't a way around it either 😕

This one always gets me: Franco's room during his first year in Spanish F4, which he spent as a host in fellow Argentinian Emiliano Rodríguez' house, who was his race engineer at the time (X)

Results be damned there's just no way I'll ever stop feeling proud of south american athletes. Being there is astounding enough.
