I dunno If this'll make sense to you guys.

But I find that a lot of Ang Bandang Shirley’s lyrics very ‘tattoo-able’.

The kind of profound one liner you wouldn’t mind being reminded of every time you look down on your arm or whatever.

Stuff like:

“Aking alay, ang sarili, aking tunay, na pag-ibig”

“Iyong pag-ibig ay larong kalye”

“Basta’t makasama ka, Ako'y nakauwi na”

even just “Ako'y nakauwi na”

“Ikaw ang puso ko, dahil sayo dumadaloy ang dugo”

“Di na babalik ang pagtingin”

“Di nagwawala ang damdamin”

“I’d like to believe that you crave the pleasure of my company”

“Nakapikit ang iyong mata, sigurado sa ginagawa”

Dami talaga. I think I could go on for a solid 10 lines more but I think you get it. Maybe I’ll get a tattoo with one of these someday. I dunno.

I do really love the last line I quoted from Iyong. That shit really resonates with me.

Reminds me of how fast everything takes place and of how quick things could happen, especially at night. Some nights are spent having dinner with friends, other nights were for having chill drinking sessions with familiar faces, and there’d be exciting nights for going out and partying with strangers. Still, nothing beats a night alone in my room back home, reminiscing all the memories (both happy and sad) we had, overthinking the what-if’s and what-could-be’s, and of course, inevitably crying, or during my worse nights, cursing myself, for the way I let you go. And I’d always end up feeling fucked up the morning after.

I wish things could just slow down a bit, so I could cope with everything that’s going on in my life, so I could regain pace, so I could go with the flow... But meh

He moaned such a soft ‘I love you’ into my ear that I barely caught it. When I asked him what he had said, just to clarify, he blushed and told me, he said nothing that time. Two years later, after I left him, he calls me up on the phone, to finally let me know, that he did indeed moan an ‘I love you’ into my ear. When I ask him why he never told me earlier, just to clarify, he laughs and tells me, that he was afraid that I would leave and deem the ‘I love you.’ Worthless. So I tell him, if he had just had clarified, that night, that he did indeed love me, he would not have had to call me 2 years later because I would not have left him. I left him because I felt that he was too afraid to love, and that if he knew me better, he would’ve known, that I wanted him to moan it again. And so he asks me, over the phone, if I would ever consider trying again. When I ask him why he decided to ask now, just to clarify, he tells me that he feels safe now. I inhale and tell him, that I like danger. And anyways, he’s 2 years too late. I whisper such a soft 'I love you’ over the phone, that he barely catches it. When he asks, what I had said, just to clarify, I giggle and tell him 'I loved you, one time.’
