Are words worthless?
What are our words even worth any more? It seems, though words abound, our fund of knowledge has grown poor What's in store for we who see the script has most tongues firmly gripped? It seems the scales which weigh the Truth and lies have toward the latter tipped And thus we've slipped as a collective into lives of lies projective And all of this is clear to see when one gains insight retrospective Best reflective of the state of all humanity Our public discourse has replaced respect with sheer profanity What a calamity in the midst of which we find ourselves grasping at straws Because no matter what we do or say, liars will write our laws And so it seems it matters not if we align with a good cause For nothing that is uttered can give this machine reason to pause These flaws of ours which time reveals are those our leaders' words conceal And thus they steal their way in to convictions which none can appeal Though real, justice is just dismissed as that which only wealth permits And thus the wheel of suffering revolves as we all help to turn it Burn it all, or let the pyre grow, it makes no difference, fast or slow We go together gently as a species into our death throes As though we do not have the wits amongst us to know who's our foe We'll see the beast within mankind emerge as crops refuse to grow And so the show begins, the three ring circus of the end As heads in sand pretend to lend a hand, we set the stage for a finale grand So striking bands of workers yearn for more than what they earn And thus we slowly learn what happens when investments don't return To CEO's who know the Earth is doomed, it matters not Because we've bought and then consumed their narratives, we've thus assumed The yoke of those who cloak their motives in a masquerade called 'news' This tool has choked the minds of those they blind with clever ruse Thus due to a poor fund of knowledge, we indebt our children for attending college And then we must apologize for trying to become more than a pawn As slowly it dawns on the daughters and sons of a nation holding them under the gun There is no way by education that your freedom can be won What was saught as enlightenment becomes being but disillusioned And most of what is "taught" causes misunderstanding, and confusion Meanwhile in delusion schools reward rich children with profusion And governments reward their parents with liquid asset infusions As systems fail we bail out those who sail yachts bigger than our homes And sinking feelings grip the throats of those who see our fate in tomes In which the tales are told of times of empires, which fall and rise It's clear to see in history wherein we fall, it's like the tides And so what we see on the rise is cost of living, to no surprise And hopefully we won't see the 1930's soon reprised Cleverly disguised as technologically devised salvation Billions of souls depend on abundant food systems which produce starvation When prodded by pressures beyond their control Systems respond by exacting a toll And lives are all that the poor have to supply Because that's all that's left when a nation runs dry So if you wonder why some people get to choose who lives or dies Know it's that a cycle of denial fuels the world of lies And what this world produces is the system I've above described And every single one of us this system's products have imbibed We've thus inscribed a history of lies with such prolificity It's a pity more of us can't be more witty, what we write could be so pretty But nonetheless it's beautiful to see that in some way we all confess By what we profess in the process which we've made in to a contest To be the best person that you can, let go of desire to control the great plan There's a clan of folk of whom I've spoken, and these people have broken the laws of all lands These are those whose hands all seek to grip the Earth as if it were but contraband But those who seek to have what is not theirs all end up grasping sand

Can you feel?
Can you feel the undertow? It's pulling people out to sea Did you know it's a wonder plants still grow? But don't take it from me You'll see nature wrend us asunder though, this broken mass of humanity Is that lightning, and Thunder's moan? This storm covers the planet, see? And, truly, there is no plan B, no pill to swallow to prevent this birth How's that for a tough pill to swallow? Mankind has raped it's mother, Earth And with mirth, no less, some men some day will happily confess They knew the storm would come and left others to clean up their own mess So now they're testing rockets, all for all mankind, or so we're told They think they've got us in their pockets, that we're all blind, because they've sold All of us such lies believe that we think we can buy reprieve But, my oh my, can you percieve the undertow as it retrieves? Our children are pulled out to sea, at first it's just the small ones But as the waves keep building strength, the pull begins to draw in all sons All out toward the center of the ocean so many are pulled And as they fight current events mankind can't see it's being culled So go and play in coastal waters, the choice is yours, and they are there Waiting for you is a source of power which may shock, or scare So be aware, the tempest in the distance looms like death row's old electric chair And though you might think of this sentence as harsh, I would just call it fair You see, humanity has abandoned the true purpose that is serves So now we're reduced to idiocy, and can't decide if the planet curves Man, can you really believe that some people have the nerve? Whatever, I guess all idiots get exactly just what they deserve And so the narrative develops to teach brothers to kill eachother All because we can't see eye to eye, because the Truth's been smothered Instead we take each other's teeth and eyes because Mercy is now despised And so the spirit of quarrel appears again, its wretched theme to be reprised And though this spirit is disguised, you can see the conflict it's devised Look out! Our Titanic society truly will soon be justly capsized We're shook, but we don't want to look to see the icebergs, not even the tips So some will melt before the sun past the horizon slips Can you feel that sinking feeling, when you reflect on these words? Have I made it clear to you? Is my message being heard? We are being herded all like cows in to a slaughter house And though we know the ones ahead will wind up dead, few doubts espouse We're falling prey to they who make their way by taking and raping slaves They know who they are, and exactly how they behave, they're fucking depraved But these are those who are hijacking the plane we're all on And some day, on all minds, this message must dawn Once upon a time there were a few good men willing to die to defend their brothers These men still live amongst the masses, who know they exist just to serve others And though right now they may pretend the end is not what I've foretold When that time does come they'll know that their strength comes from being bold

Just Keep Calm
The Earth itself is dying, but you shouldn't get unruly I mean, it would be a shame to see property damaged unduly Truly, this is what our priorities boil down to nowadays As those in charge embrace catastrophe because they see how it pays To be on top of what is going down, they've ensured that the poor will drown Indebted to our leaders though our labor is what preserves their crowns The common person now has come to wear a constant frown And that doesn't look so good when they've got all of us dressed up like clowns While their programs entertain us, they program us for their entertainment And thus our children are taught that selling out is an attainment Because the rich can evade arraignment, despite the reason for their detainment As all of this is overseen by those of federal ordainment All the while our stained mint produces fiat currency And so, at current, there's no deterrent to keep us from enriched poverty As property is bought up by the fools using us to play monopoly The towers they construct with Jenga blocks might just be fucked, they're looking wobbly And so my hobby is to lobby against those with lobbyists Because they're snobby, all of our wishes these 'elites' have dismissed And so we grow so listless that it burns to even raise a fist As day by day we've slipped into to the haze of techno-fascist mist We grope for truth in a fog as life itself becomes a slog Because we're treated like stray dogs as we're removed like drain clogs When we stand still and block an artery, our leaders call to standby the artillery And you know they'll bomb a city block if in their sights it has been locked Because they clocked you going 50 in a 45, if your skin is dark you might pray to survive And if your skin is light you might not even have a ticket to fight The way things are just isn't right, but this is all that our american species has left As slowly despite all our wealth, we see our nation's become bereft What a hefty 'fuck you' burger we all have to swallow Suddenly the phrase 'land of the free' winds up feeling hollow As we all have no choice but this system's rules to follow The masses, gagged and with hands bound will soon in remorse wallow Because we've been abducted by an alienating way of thinking We can now watch our own world falling apart on screen while barely blinking As we perch precariously on the brink of annihilation The most that many muster is outrage for Twitter violations Meanwhile in the Ukraine men and women assume war stations As nations vie for dominance the skies become more ominous It seems that soon a domino will fall, and its gravity will topple all of this And all that it will take is a just little push, regardless of what is dismissed

We're Virtually Sinking
Can you hear what I hear? It's the song of our times
Can you see what's drawing near? It's a picture of our wrongs, called crimes
Can you feel the growing fear? Its heat foretells of dire climes
Can you sense what will soon appear? My poems prepare the way by rhyme
And, by the way, everything you see is just exactly as it was intended to be
Because, as yet unbeknownst to most, we're creating a new reality
Virtually humanity can now be, without having to feel what we hear and see
Because we've lost virtually all sense of what it means to have community
With such virtuosity we've vivaciously venerated vanity
Not to Narcissus' surprise, staring in mirrors we've abandoned our sanity
And so blind to all that falls outside one's own mind, many now seek Planet B
But there will never be a colony which spares mankind from its own tragedy
So gladly I warn of these times wherein oceans grow warm
And slowly all our pollinators cease to swarm
Because by excess so many are charmed
The Earth is destroyed by the way it is farmed
Just as we beat our crops into growing, our cops must beat our workers into towing
The line of the billionaires with their bullshit ever flowing is finally showing its purpose
What hid below the surface and disguised itself as public service is truly worthless
And these are those fools by whose wills our markets are run like a circus
As we jump through flaming hoops we give our pay away to they who kill our troops
By ever playing either side of the game, profiteers ensure, win or lose, the outcome's the same
And thus there is no lion to tame, because they've shorn its mane and seen it maimed
And so like Samson our minds are tied to temple columns
All because, despite the lion slain, we've betrayed vows so solemn
And so it seems that all our strength could not keep us from our Delilah fair
Therefore we may destroy our sacred places while therein, and thus be entombed there
But at this point, does anyone even really care? I guess it's hard to say
It would seem to post-modernists that life is nothing but a power play
And the will to power cannot be delayed, thus the hand of evil is never stayed
And never sated are the desires of the wicked, thus they make us prey
And though the fearful go to church and  pray faithfully in pews
They're often preyed upon by the ones to whom they pay their dues
But the collection plate of fate will ensure petty tithings good faith won't accrue
And so our "moral leaders" lack their bona fides, but we don't get to choose
Who wins or loses in the power play of modern times is decided by lies
And so the political contest is simply to see who is best disguised
So now elections are like comiccons, but our politicians cosplay as good persons
And we choose whoever dresses best to oversee our economy as our lives worsen
Is it comical that we've been conned electronically?
It would seem so to our leaders who laugh at us ecstatically
Because our tyrants all believe they've conquered us didactically
It's true, we've practically become just what they want exactly
Like sheep, we may think we're free, but we're herded by the hand of greed
Thus with sticks and carrots we are taught not to bite the hand that feeds
While simultaneously we slowly lose our grasp on all our basic needs
They make banks form us in ranks by holding on to our house deeds
As prices rise and houses fly off markets like they were hot cakes
All that we can do is try to sum it up with fresh hot takes
Ah, so this is what 80 years of being world leaders makes
An oven in which we have all been left so that we'll one day bake
As we're raked over the coals of our dying reefs and shoals
We seem to have no choice but to further cede control
To the ones we know do not have Earth's salvation as their goal
We have given the reins, all just to be trolled
By the ones extolled as public servants, a life is seen as just a vote
Therefore once you give yours to them, they care not if you sink or float
Because everyone has been divided onto either side of the billionaires' line
It matters not which side you're on, it's either, or, by their design
So keep rowing and towing their sinking ship into a growing storm
Or stop and think real long and hard about why you were born
Was it to serve the undeserving with this precious gift of your existence?
The answer may make no difference, for they're empowered and insistent
