Things to Bring to Korea
Hello all!
Sorry it's been a while. I just arrived in Korea a few days ago and readjusting to the time difference doesn't give me enough energy to do much. But I'm starting to get the hang of it now!
So in my last video, I mentioned that I would talk about what you need to bring to Korea. I realized I can't make a video every day or week, so I'll be writing up this one.
First thing, you should ALWAYS pack as light as you can. But in this case, you are moving overseas and that year could mean that you don't get to have all of your favorite things. So make sure to pack your favorite clothes and shoes. If you have rather large feet, like me, make sure to bring as many as you can. I am a 9 1/2 and they are only friendly to those with feet around 7 1/2. Also, keep in mind the seasons. If you pack only summer clothes, you will be regretting it in the winter. The winter is the biggest season here. It spans from October to April. And it's COLD! I don't mean just a light jacket cold. I mean your nose takes five seconds to freeze cold.
The only thing you can't really find in Korea is deodorant. So make sure to pack a good supply of that. I recommend also bringing a few of your favorite snacks to help your transition in Korea. When you first get here it's a bit difficult to get used to their food and ways, so having something like pop tarts or candy can help you tremendously.
I am a bigger girl, so I needed to bring as many clothes as possible. If you are of a regular size, then you should be able to buy and wear their clothes here. But just make sure to sit down and think about what you're packing too. You're going to be teaching, so you shouldn't just pack shorts.
And that's really all you need to know. My next segment or post will be about the difficulties you may face when coming over, like what you're doing may be crazy.
If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at [email protected]!
