General “hi I’m alive” and “thank you!”

I noticed that I’ve gained a few followers recently, so welcome! I’m not too active these days, and I owe that gap in activity mostly to just lacking motivation during pandemic times. I think the part of my brain that I previously allocated towards interacting with all of you and creating content is being held hostage by generalized anxiety. Oops! I hope to get back to business as usual soon, though.

In particular, if you’re someone who I used to talk to very often (y’all know who you are) trust that I am thinking about you and hope that you’re doing well. The best way to get in touch with me to say hello is actually just through Tumblr message; so if I talked to you more on discord etc., try me back here again. (One of the crappy things my anxiety does is that it just... generally limits the number of touch points I check to talk to people.) 😬

hey so! long story short but last summer due to some medical stuff my organs were just like “ok we’re out. doing our jobs of digesting food? Nah fuck that. Have fun being miserable” and this blog helped me cope because instead of being like “fuck am I dying?” while I waited for my test results I could be like “haha funky aliens” anyway now my organs are working and I just wanted to say thanks

Honestly your thoughts are eXTRA reassuring to hear because the biggest source of “guilt” for me in terms of my kink is always “well what about people with real digestive diseases? Hey oh no need to apologize at all! Believe me, even if you DID mean it that way, I get more invasive asks than that pretty regularly – and I don’t mind those questions either! (I don’t always have answers to those questions, but I’m not like, triggered by them or anything.)

As for how I feel about alien anatomy re: worldbuilding, I really like it but I don’t devote as much time to thinking about it as I should! (Like, I play D/nD and I definitely look at the M/onster M/anual the least out of the core books.) If anyone has good resources for alien creation lmk.

tmi tuesday: how do you / your boys feel about bizarre alien anatomy? I recently was working on a species for a sci fi story that has cilia that acts as a receptor for hormones / pheromones (they live underwater and chemical receptors don't travel as well so they're extra sensitive cause of all the receptors). anyway, I was just thinking about weird alien anatomy and I wanted to hear your take

Me personally? I don’t know how I would handle the situation haha. While I have some fun times imagining my OCs’ responses to xeno stuff, I’m..... kinda borderline ace myself. (Probably because of my antidepressants but ah well.)

My “lead” OC, Dash, is certifiably omnisexual and will go for ANY kinky xeno interactions, often the weirder the better. (He’s even gone on a luxury vacation to a humanoid bee planet with a private guide who like, freely offers him alien bee pheromones via sting haha.)

My other OCs? They mostly prefer to stick to their own species, so an alien interaction like that would be dubcon at best.... but hey, I’ll subject them to it regardless lol.

Are you still active on the rp scene or has real life taken you away like so many others?

So.....,.,,,, I don’t know if I was ever that active in the “RP scene”! I’ve never called this out explicitly on my blog, but oftentimes “traditional” RP feels weird to me. I’ve never felt comfortable imaging MYSELF in kink situations.

The closest I come to “RP” is just talking to people and shooting story ideas back and forth. I suppose that’s a form of RP, but it’s definitely never a self-insert, “I do [x]” RP format. More of a brainstorming session.

That being said if you ever have those sorts of story or art ideas, or general kink musings, I really am opening to DMing about it! Don’t be afraid to hit me up.

The only reason I ever watched T-en W-lf was the abundance of fanfic from that show involving belly kink stuff. What's the weirdest compromise you've made to read a fic?

Oh wow I LOVE this question. I feel like there are so many fandoms with a lot of kink content that I have never been interested in otherwise.

Honestly I’ll read anything on Ao3 that fits my kink preferences, but it’s especially difficult/“sacrificial” to read anything with a main character/kink victim who seems overly helpless/wooby-ish. I don’t want to call out any fandom in particular, but so much mpreg – and mpreg with a sadistic streak – features very, very twinky characters who are totally helpless, or who break down in tears immediately when faced with their predicament.

And I am TOTALLY not knocking people for whom that character behavior is a preference in kink situations. It just doesn’t fit MY preferences, and it often feels like I’m in a minority for wanting more bara or stoic or snarky characters in kink writing.

Did you have the flu?

Hard maybe??? I never went to get diagnosed but I had the symptoms... Fever, chills, body aches, cough from day 1, and it definitely got worse before it got better.

The only reason I’m unsure it was the flu is because I DID get a flu shot, and I think that even if I DID get a strain that snuck past the shot, my symptoms weren’t as bad as they could have been because of the vaccine.

This is supposed to be a really bad season folks, and it’s never too late to get your shot! Do it! And wash yo hands.

Random sickfic details I picked up from my own bout of respiratory illness!

Spoiler alert: I’m all better now! But these are some things I noticed while I was sick that made me go, “I haven’t read much of this (in detail) in sickfics!” Maybe this will inspire folks!

Not being able to support my own head. Like, sitting up was doable for the most part, but my upper shoulders and neck might as well have been made of wet paper towels bunched together. Is this what babies feel like all the time? Frick!

More so than I remembered from previous infirmity, it was UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE to stop chills from the outside, like with blankets. The call was coming from inside the house, man. Only NSAIDs worked.

Any video content that had high levels of emotional stress, weird camera movement, or sudden noises was OUT. I should have remembered this from, I dunno, many hangovers. But yeah, only mild, silly, repetitive stuff went down okay.

My personality was GONE for like three days. At least verbally. I could text “in character” but if you wanted me to talk to you with my human vocal chords, it would be a one-word response or something Siri would say. Even my INTERNAL MONOLOGUE stopped, which I didn’t realize had happened until I started feeling better and it came back.

The day you feel 80% better is the day you are going to screw yourself by overdoing it. I went to Target on that day. ONE ERRAND. The next day I was only awake for three hours.
