ABODE OF ALL
Abode of all is a residential apartment upgrade poject. Based on the existing Council housing program, Arlington Apartment. The upgrade projects proposes is a re-designing of a whole community within an residentail area concentrating on living in home units with the regard of residents’well-being in all areas to develop the community’s quality.
the project is also aimed to increase avialable afforable rental homes to support more low-income households, whom are facing the inaffordable living place crisis.
Every route and residential home-unit is designed with appropriate space to support disability among the able bodied. people with disabilities are able to access every where within the community including upper units.
The three kinds of Residential units in the community are tripple bedrooms, twin bedrooms, and a single bedroom. Each building unit standing at three stories in height.
Welling-being is a significant consideration of the design proposal to increase residents’ quality of life, focusing on how people are interacted within the rental house and the community with other.

There are

1 elevator (For general used and accessible for people with disability)

The design of the unit has convey a high considered in where thing go regarding to resident well-being.
Bed are designed to avoid facing the door as having window above which its beleve to interrupt sleeper.
Desk in the bedroom are avoided to backing to the door as it is believe to be frustrated and kept the worker stress.
Due to the privacy, wardrobe are directing avoid facing the door,(in case if people accidentally walking into the room when other is getting change, this will allow people to hide.
The pumping system are all in one area for water flow throughout the whole unit.

Building Construction
Waffle-Crete Panel
Every detail of the Waffle-Crete system is designed to speed construction and reduce construction costs - without compromising structural strength. With this unique system you can cast panels indoors or directly on the jobsite using 50% less concrete and steel reinforcement and then erect panels the next day in a fraction of the time of cast-in-place or tilt-up. Because Waffle-Crete panels bolt together without need for welding, carpentry or masonry, they can be erected by minimally trained and unskilled laborers. The Waffle-Crete forming system is lightweight and self-contained, making it easy to set up a production casting site wherever it is most convenient. The waffle and rib pattern in the mold speeds and simplifies rebar placement and also reduces the amount of steel and concrete needed by up to 50% without compromising the panel’s structural integrity. With patented Waffle-Crete molds you can crank out perfect precast panels of practically any size or shape without skilled labor and with little chance for error. Waffle-Crete molds and curing covers are fabricated from rugged ABS plastic and a rigid extruded aluminum frame. With reasonable care, Waffle-Crete molds and covers can last for many years and hundreds of uses. After a panel is cast, insulated Waffle-Crete covers help maintain optimal conditions for curing while also protecting the panel from the elements. The curing cover allows the panel temperature to climb up to 150 degrees F (65.5 degrees C) while minimizing shrinkage and cracking. The next day, you simply loosen the bolts at the corners of the mold, strip the panel using a Waffle-Crete demolding device, and stack it for erection. At half the weight of solid precast, Waffle-Crete panels are more maneuverable and require smaller lifting devices and equipment. During erection the waffle and rib pattern makes it possible to bolt panels together, which is considerably faster and requires much less skill than welding embed plates. This panel design also simplifies installation of plumbing, electrical and insulation.
Proposed: The reasons I proposed this construction are first it is affordable and less time-consuming, green and sustainable. It is durable and resilient and surely it’s tested and confirm to be earthquake resist, due to the site are on a hazard ground shaking. The process of the construction as the panel are precast, the construction doesn’t required a high-level trained constructor.
This construction has been tested and internationally used in over 30 countries.

1, 2 and 3 Bedroom ranging from top to bottom. The right hand sides are a developed version where the balcony are designed to remove the back but hopefully extend the side in order to suit with the community access-scape

The left hand side are the look of 1st floor unit and right and 2nd and 3rd floor unit.
The 2 top units are unfortunate to unable to have front or back yard ground area, I design them has a balcony where allowed the resident to access outside to receive a fresh air and community view as well as exterior space for small outdoor activity such as BBQ Space, Smoking, Small gardening etc.
