What does it feel like to be in love? How do I know if I am in love with someone?

I imagine it as a terrible feeling. Like I am imprisoned by my emotions against my will. What do you think about that?

Due to certain issues my brain and emotions don’t work the same way as a “normal person’s,” but for me loving someone has primarily been a strong need to take care of that person- to protect and look after them. Pretty much an act of service, because that’s what made me feel happy and fulfilled in relationship- when that person was safe and cared for. I wouldn’t say it’s such a strong feeling that it could become imprisoning, but it’s definitely difficult when it’s not reciprocated. However, if it is mutual it’s truly a wonderful feeling, especially when both sides nurture it I I could even say that it’s very uplifting and gives a sense of confidence. :)

Do you have any tips for when you have to speak in public? I have a thing for class next week and I’m really nervous about it😔

First of all, know the topic you're presenting- make sure you really understand what you’re talking about and memorize the most important points. You don’t need to memorize everything word-for-word, obviously, but being confident in the material makes a huge difference. If you can, have everything written on a piece of paper to look at in case you forget anything- make it clear and easy to read. Also, you can practice at home by speaking it all out loud, just to make sure you’re confident in what you’re saying. Go over your talk several times- the more you say it out loud, the more natural it will feel.

And of course- focus on your message, not yourself. Instead of worrying about how you’re coming across, think about what you want your audience to take away. You’ve got this- nerves are totally normal, but they don’t mean you’re not going to do great. I wish you the best of luck! :)
