When Sam and his Avenger’s team joins forces with Thunderbolts a lot of them have a problem with Walker (while Sam personally is amicable with him, he doesn’t exactly love the guy). But before anyone can say anything, Black Widow’s sister and the infamous Ghost beat them to the punch.

By saying the most vile things to Walker’s face.

“Ok walmart Captain America” “Chill out Captain Crashout you wanna decapitate someone in public again?” “Quiet deadbeat” “this is why Olivia left you”

It gets to the point where Sam asks Bucky why he is pushing for this team when Yelena and Ava clearly despise Walker—how the hell are they supposed to be a cohesive team?

And Bucky looks at Sam like??? Ava and Yelena adore Walker what are you talking about???

BUT after the mission everyone is exhausted and John. Starts to fall asleep. On Yelena’s shoulder.

AU where Yelena and John are actually biological siblings. John had a sister (Kate) who went missing when he was a little boy and he has always held the pain of the that trauma deep inside him.

Yelena knows that she has a biological family somewhere--she was taken from them when she was around 2 years old, but she refused to try to find them because she didn't want to deal with the pain that would come from either being abandoned or being taken from the possibility of a happy childhood (she doesn't know which one would be worse).

But one day a mission goes wrong and the team gets hit with some sort of nerve agent. Extensive lab work is taken for all of them, and thankfully it is only temporary. They all just move on from there.

Months later, after John's dumbass gets hurt trying to protect Ava during a mission, Bucky pulls up his medical file and sees

Biological Sister: Yelena Belova.

psychic damage for all the thunderbolts ensues.

Yelena: the most unholy concoction of creams and flavors and sugar known to man. Made a barista cry once

Ava: extreme coffee snob--to the point where if it isn't prepared correctly she won't drink it. The team still isn't sure what the "correct" way is
