10/3/18 8:55am   Those walls were briefly uncovered, now lost for good as a building encapsulated it.  And of course, one of my favorite gas station signs.  These are few and far between these days.  Probably fuji 400 or c200 film, unknown camera.

We were out driving a couple three years ago as we like to do, country drives.  We followed the old rail line from Chattanooga to Nashville heading south through Sherwood, TN to Stevenson, AL.  There is an old factory, probably a rock quarry, that is long dilapidated.  The whole town of Stevenson (the old downtown) is nothing but a ghost town.  A real shame.  It has that old charm.  Alas, the passenger trains stopped in the early 80's.  The freight trains just roar through.  The 4 lane bypasses downtown.  The road from Sewanee to Stevenson is virtually desolate save a few people that commute through here, live along here, usually workers at the nearby nuclear plant or local farmers.  Places like this spark memories of how things used to be, the desire for that time again, and the sad reality that this will never be but a memory.  Captured on Eastman Double X film (EK 5222) and I am not sure what camera (maybe a Minolta xg something).

Old abandoned theme park.  Not sure of the film stock used, this was about 3+ years ago.  Also, not technically in middle TN but near Knoxville but, whatever.  Abandoned theme parks are cool.

Film stock unknown, out and about in middle TN.  Millers is actually a tourist joint but that atmosphere is timeless and fewer of these old general stores remain...once a part of every small town.  The old sign, well, it is just classic.  Who knows how long this will remain.  I do believe it is still standing.

Been having the darndest time getting this post to actually post.  A glitch with TUMBLR and my browser?  Anyways.  Film stock was kentmere 400 on an Oly OM10 developed in hc110 dil h about 3 years ago.  The barns are getting older with many fallen in.  More and more gone daily.  The fields are becoming housing developments.  But sometimes, nature comes back as with the junkyard above engulfing and digesting the old vehicles.

Not sure of the film stock used here, maybe EK 5222/Double X.  This is the forgotten downtown of Wartrace, TN.  Mostly closed buildings with the occasional business in some sort of operation.  A very neat toy train museum here (see the open sign) and worth the visit.  I believe some of the upstairs of these buildings have been converted to loft apartments hence the parked cars.

From about 3 or so years ago, out and about in middle TN...the decay, the forgotten, the lost.  Shot on a variety of films, plus X and TMX for the B&W and I believe Fuji superia xtra 400 on the color.

The Old Brushy Mountain State Prison which is no more.  I have heard rumors of it becoming or to become some sort of tourist trap and/or "moonshine" distillery.

Forbus General store in north, middle TN.  A place that time has stood still, might as well be walking into this store anywhere from 50-70 years ago.  It even has a working wood burning stove in the middle of the store with chairs around it for patrons to sit, warm themselves, and conversate.  Places like this are rare and getting rarer.  I highly recommend a visit to this old place.  Don't forget to pick up their calendar either.  I plan on revisiting this winter at some point.  Not sure how long this place will hang on.
