A back to school tip for aspiring teachers and academics
If you’re confused in school now, you can use that confusion to become a better teacher later. You can write detailed notes about what you’re confused about and and why. Doing this may help you to figure things out now, and it will definitely help you to teach well in the future.
Teaching is hard, and teaching beginners is often harder. Knowing a subject well isn’t the same as knowing how to teach it. Teachers need to be able to explain things in a way that will make sense to beginners. They also need to be able to figure out why students are getting confused, and find ways to help them understand. This is much easier said than done.
Right now, you’re probably confused about some things that will feel completely obvious in a year or two. Many things that are hard to master feel completely natural once you’ve learned them. It can be hard to understand why something that has come to feel completely natural to you is confusing to your students.
As a student, you’re likely confused about your subject; as a teacher, you are likely to be confused about your students. If you write down what you’re confused about as a student, you will be doing your future self a huge favor. The notes themselves may be helpful when you teach. Beyond that, writing notes about yourself as a student can help you to start thinking from a teaching perspective. The sooner you get into the habit of thinking about your subject with teaching in mind, the better off you’ll be in the long term.
Tl;dr If you’re confused in school, you can use your confusion to be a better teacher in the future. Consider writing down what you are confused about and why. In the future, you will have students who are confused. Understanding your own confusion now can help you to understand theirs later.

Meet Ed.
Last year in November my Church hosted an event were we gave out meals to the community. Anyone who needed a warm plate or just a warm place to escape the cold was welcome. On that day I meet Ed. I did not know Ed or have I seen him before. During my time serving and helping cleaning the dining hall I stopped to take a break. There at the table our conversation began. We talked about sports and were he was from. Do not get it twisted he is no #Tarheels fan but a proud #Husky (UCONN). We continue to talk about he was from and how he ended up in Myrtle Beach! He informed me that he has been here for 9 years. Being homeless is not a obstacle that Ed uses as a excuse, being that he has his Masters in Engineering. But embraces that life is life, and that Jesus Christ is all he needs, and besides not have “things” God has been great to him
As we finished talking he mentioned that he had a bike down the road that needed a tube. I understood were he was coming from, having a bike in myrtle beach is very helpful and walking can really wear and tear your feet. I helped him with his ride and told him I hope to see him again. Today I choose to try our my new camera lens on the boardwalk not know that a year later today we would reunited in the downtown myrtle beach area and pick off were we left on how amazing God has been!

Growing up I was pretty much the only child. Even though alot of people dont know.... I do have a brother! But Ive always had cool cousins and friends who I can say are my true friend still. Though a sister relationship is something I always wanted, God and my parents did think it was necessary. These two girls here....if you get them together make sure you have some baby wipe, cause they will make you pee on yourself. I have seen these two girl grow up for the pas 4 years and now Taniya who is the oldest, is really now BIGGER and TALLER THAN ME! I love these girls and cant wait to see them grow up!

A YOUNG STAR IN THE MAKING
Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kobe Byrant, all started somewhere. Here we have a young athlete who is making her way to the top, one mile at a time. This week has been AWESOME!!! I have had such an amazing time with this little lady here! She always has respect for me even though in a few years she knows she will be taller than me. When I see her face its, Hey Ms. Freda! I can't wait to see her take over the track and field world! If you dont believe me just be on the look out for her! She is FAST & FIERCE!
