100 million slaughtered? When did this happen? Are we forgetting that the largest genocide in history (the holocaust) was committed by an anti-communist? You want to call your House rep now and tell them Trump needs to be impeached immediately for defying a Supreme Court order (re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia), which functionally voids our constitution and means no one in America has rights anymore.

I am not exaggerating.

As of now, anybody can be disappeared, no due process, no recourse. Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order and says he’ll send US citizens to El Salvador.

This is not a drill.

Call your House rep and tell them they must impeach. Tell them if they cannot bring themselves to impeach, they must resign. A more open and shut case to impeach is not possible. Trump and his administration are saying openly, in public, that anybody can be kidnapped by ICE, even in error, and disappeared permanently.

Call your senators, too, and tell them to support impeachment (it goes to them once it passes a majority House vote).

You know, I'm starting to think my struggle with productivity is not the worst part of ADHD.

Like, I mean, that's the part everyone talks about, right? It's the most famous part of ADHD--you can't sit down and do the boring, non-stimulating, dopamine deprived work. Your brain wants to do anything, anything else.

But, at least for me, that doesn't just apply to work. It applies to play.

I can doomscroll twitter and tumblr with the best of them, sure. I can read tvtropes, and check discord a million times an hour and google random crap, but when it comes to actually like, playing a video game? Reading a book? Watching a movie? It's just.

So.

Freaking.

Hard.

And even when I start playing, even when I'm enjoying a game, I'm constantly fighting the urge to go and do something else. To check my phone, to go and search something up, and, most dangerously of all, to start mucking around with the graphics settings. I can't ever get absorbed into a game, can't shift my brain from "jumbled mess" into "immersed" and--

The thing is.

That means I can't rest.

I can't break the endless buzz in the back of my head, I can't ever really stop thinking and inhabit this escapist fantasy. I can't stop investing energy into my buzzy brain, and so--

Like.

I don't have a recourse to burn out.

ADHD burn-out is probably the second most talked about part of ADHD, but I think this is a big factor that people don't talk about as much, or at least not in these terms. It's not just that you can't get stuff done and keep worrying about it, it's that you can't rest.

You can't treat the burn out.

And so it just. Piles up.

And up.

And up.

Until you collapse.

okay but if you ever see a male creative who had a string of great work and then everything else he did was dogshit, go to the "personal life" part of his wikipedia and look at his relationships. you'll either find a major tragedy he didn't recover from (completely understandable) or, more likely, there was a woman in his life doing uncredited shit editing his stuff or contributing generally and she's not there anymore.

I told a friend about this phenomenon in literature and he called me weeks later like, I remembered what you said about women doing uncredited work when tim burton came up. he made a string of bangers then everything else just was nowhere near as good. the timeline matches perfectly to when he was with this german visual artist (lena gieseke). he's done some good work in collaboration, but if things were dug into I suspect we would find she did a lot more than people realise.

so yeah whenever you look around like wow women didn't work in history, or, women aren't auteurs, or, there just aren't as many great female writers - societal reasons for that aside, half the time they absolutely did.
