Catching Up

Alright, it's been a while! School has been really crazy and I've been working on getting my driver's license; it's just taken up so much of my time. So, I wanted to make a post about some of the big things that have happend recently that are OW2 related.

Happy Pride Month! I hope everyone has been doing well this month! Overwatch got a bunch of stuff to celebrate: Player Icons and Name Cards, an updated Midtown for Pride, and the "As You Are" shory story which confirmed Pharah to be a lesbian and Baptiste to be bisexual! I think Midtown looks awesome and I'm so glad we got the promised content for Pride month this year!

2. Season 5 Information - We will be getting the Mythic Adventurer Tracer soon! We learned more about some of the upcoming skins in these two tweets: Tracer Skin and Other Skins. Personally, I really like the Orisa skin!

3. Overwatch 2: Invasion and Season 6 Content - Today, we got a bunch of short videos about what we will be getting in terms of PVE content, a new characters, and a new gamemode. Here is a comprehensive video about all of the stuff we got today.

4. The Midseason Madness Tourament - This Overwatch League tournament will be on June 15 - 17. An important thing to know about this tournament is what rewards you'll be able to get. Like normal, you'll be able to get OWL Tokens, but you'll also be able to get a Wrecking Ball spray and D.Va spray, Ramattra OWL skins, and Battlepass Tier Skips!

Again, sorry for not posting for a while, life has just been a lot. Along with working on driving, I've been working on another painting; I'll eventually make a post about it. I also got a short story and poem published in my school's literary magazine which was pretty cool, I may post them. I've also been doing more reading and writing. I just finished 'The World's Greatest Love Letter' compiled by Stefan Dziemianowicz.

Here was one of my favorite quotes: "... you make me dance between heaven and water just to please you, and when you are tired with the sport you will cut the line. Then I shall have a hook in my mouth - and shall never find another fisher." (Prosper Merimee to "Unknown", 1841).

I'm going to be reading 'The Complete Poems of Robert Frost' next! My favorite thing about it right now is that it is 666 pages long.

Overwatch 2 - Season 4 Roadmap

Alright, we got a roadmap today for Season 4 today!

Beginning on Tuesday April 11th, we'll be getting a bunch of new stuff including all of the following:

The newest support character - Lifeweaver.

B.O.B and Weave (April 11th - 25th): it'll be a 3v3 deathmatch featuring Lifeweaver and a B.O.B per team to celebrate the Thai New Year.

Starwatch: Galactic Rescue (May 9th - 22nd): it'll be a 4v4 game mode on a reworked Horizon Lunar Colony where you'll be battling your way through new objectives and surprises with some select heroes.

Gardening Symmetra Challenge (May 23rd - 29th): you'll be able to complete in in-game challenges to earn this skin along with other spring-based rewards.

Talantis (April 25th - May 1st): you'll be able to play on a Twitch made control map in the Arcade; it contains death pits, jump pads, and a lot of giant fish!

The 1st Overwatch Pride Event: Starting on June 1st, 2023 there will be a Pride event in Overwatch 2! We will be getting more information about the event the close we get to it.

There's going to be a lot going on in Season 4 and I couldn't be more excited, especially for the upcoming Pride event! I'll definitely be talking about it once more information comes out. ~ Nova.

New Support Character: Lifeweaver

Today, Lifeweaver was officially annouced on PlayOverwatch's twitter as the new support hero! Based on a now pulled PCGamesN article, Niran Pruksamanee a.k.a Lifeweaver is the first Thai and pansexual character being added to OW2. The techonology he uses is referenced as biolight (I'm guessing it is similar to the Viskar Corperation's hard-light which Symmetra uses in-game) and he definitely has some interesting abilities. I'm super excited to see what he's going to bring to the game with Season 4!

Theorizing about the New Support Characters - Overwatch 2

Alright, so it's been like a month, sorry about that, but school's just been nuts! Anyways, there's some news going around after a Q&A hosted by @ ChristalRaine and @ BroYouWack on twitter with Hero Designer Alec Dawson about new characters.

We can expect to see new and familiar faces as the seasons continue, so I wanted to do a little theorizing about who we might be seeing. We also heard from Jared Neuss that we will be getting two new "cute" support heroes. Now, let's go into some theories! This is the longest post I've written in a bit, so buckle up.

Specific Characters:

Overlord - Member of MEKA Squad: We can guess that he would have a support role, considering he helps repair the Mechs. Based on what I've seen on twitter, he is one of the favorites of the fanbase to be one of the new characters.

2. Casino - Member of MEKA Squad: I would think that he wouldn't have a support role, but I could see him being a future character. While being a member of the MEKA Squad now, he was a F1 racecar driver in the past which could tie into some of the things we see in Circuit Royal.

3. Jetpack Cat - possibly Brigitte's cat. This charcter, who I'm fairly sure we see through one of Brigitte's emote, is definitly a fan-favorite who we know has some type of armor. Since they are associated with Brigitte, it would make sense that they could be a support.

4. Cláudio and Hector Martins - from a portrait in Esperança: If you want to get a really thorough explaination of who these characters are, check out this great video by Master Ian Gamer, but we may get either of these two characters or an assoicate of their's as one of the new characters since they are associated with a new faction in OW2 called The Collective.

5. Iggy - from the London Calling comics: Iggy is an omnic from The Underworld, Kings Row. I've seen a few people say that they want Iggy as one of the new support characters and I can't disagree. I really want some new omnic characters and I think Iggy could definitly be considered cute.

Less Specific Characters:

The Yōkai: This is a group who, along with Kiriko, protect Kanezaka. They all wear masks associated with different yōkai including a kitsune (Kiriko), a tanuki, an amabie, a kappa, a kasa-obake, and an oni.

2. Blackwatch/the Old Guard of Overwatch: Since we will be getting more lore with the release of PvE, whenever that will be, I'm hoping we'll get a character who was part of the original Overwatch. That could be someone like Fio, the Blackwatch pilot from the Venice Incident, or Kimiko who worked in hostage rescue.

3. Talon: A lot of people want to see Mauga or Maximillian as playable characters. While Mauga probably would be better as a tank, I think Maxilmillian could definitely work as a support.

4. Someone Completely New: This has happened a few times with characters like Sigma or Baptiste who we didn't get many hints for. I'd love to see a new omnic character or someone from Midtown, Colosseo, or Cicuit Royal.

And with that, those are some of the more popular/talked about theories I've seen. Personally, I really want Overlord, Casino, or a new omnic character to be added, but I'll be excited just to see who we get. Anyways, sorry it's been so long between posting, this year has just been a lot and I haven't felt the drive to post, but I'll be posting a compliation of my poetry soonish. OW2 - Season 3 Annoucement!

(Note: I wrote this yesterday but saved it as a draft instead of posting it, but I still wanted to post it. So, the tomorrow I mention is actually today).

Hi! It's been a second, sorry about that. School has been pretty crazy, so I just haven't had time or felt like posting. But, the major announcement that came out earlier today about Season 3 got me excited enough to make a post.

Here are the parts I'm most excited for:

Valentine's Day Event - Cupid Hanzo and the LoverWatch Dating Sim.

OW2 x One Punch Man Collab - Saitama Doomfist, among other cosmetics.

The Antarctic Peninsular - New Control Map with penguins and fishing.

All the new skins including Amaterasu Kiriko and Honey Bee Mercy.

Happy Holidays!

I just wanted to start out by saying, Happy Holidays! I celebrate Christmas, but I hope that you are enjoying whatever you are celebrating. I haven't been posting very complicated posts recently because I have been dealing with recovering from COVID. It sucked, but I'm feeling better! Anyways, while I had COVID, I sometimes couldn't stand using tech (whether that be trying to do homework or trying to watch YouTube), so I painted. I did the Poinsettia Paint by Number Kit from Micheals which I will link to if anyone is interested in trying one yourself! But, I made a short video, which will be below, that shows how I progressed. So, enjoy and Happy Holidays!!

How I will be posting some of my poems!

Alright, a little while ago I posted about a poetry prompt notebook that I decorated. I mentioned that I would be posting some of the poems that I've written in that notebook and that is what I will be doing, but I wanted to explain how I will be titling stuff as a reference point (for me, really).

The title of the post will always be: WTP Prompt - (prompt name).

WTP stands for 'Write the Poem' which is the name of the notebook, so it will be obvious what this is compared to other stuff I have written. An example of this would be: WTP Prompt - The Ocean.

Anyways, this is really just being posted as a point of reference for future poems, so I hope you'll look out for those once I get them out. The first poem I'll be posting is going to be 'The Ocean'! ~ Nova.
