The kids ask Sportacus to read them “The Night Before Christmas”. Sportacus, an Elf unfamiliar with a lot of Human Christmas traditions, has never heard of the book but is happy to read it for them.

So they all gather around in the snow just as the lights around town come on. They all drink hot chocolate and huddle together to hear their favorite hero read a classic tale.

Only, Sportacus gets about halfway through the first page when Robbie Rotten jumps out of nowhere and loudly declares, “You’re doing it all wrong!” He practically rips the book from Sportacus, sits beside him in the middle of all the kids, and explains that you have to do the right voices.

Robbie starts the book over. His narrator voice is a hundred times better. All the children are enthralled by his inflection, his dramatic hand movements, his Santa voice– they sip from their mugs and can’t tear their eyes away. Sportacus watches with a slight amount of awe as Robbie gets into the story.

Finally, the book is done. The kids clap, thanking Robbie for doing a great job. They rush inside as night property falls. Robbie gets up and turns to leave but Sportacus grabs his sleeve.

Sportacus thanks him for taking his place, saying that it was nice of Robbie to take over and really give the kids a treat. “Could you read it to me again?” He asks with a small smile. “It’s nice to hear you read, and I want to become familiar with the story since everyone seems to know it.”

A bit flustered, Robbie says, “N-Not out here! It’s too cold! Let’s go to my place. You can make me cocoa and learn from the master of story telling.”

And so they depart for the lair, shoulder to shoulder, the book tucked under Sportacus’ arm.

sportacus is the funniest character on earth because he has the strength and agility of a god and he uses it to fuck about in an airship 90% of the time.

the show hard cuts to him and he's batting an apple around with a tennis racket. now he's breakdancing. one time he cut up a banana with a fencing sword and then just lay down and let the chunks fall into his mouth. that probably was his breakfast.
