Kennersdene Exhibition, 2022
In this small scale project, I assisted in the arranging and installation of a street-focused, community art exhibition created by the residents of Kennersdene in Tynemouth. This show consisted of numerous challenges including mounting work onto a wall without the use of screws or fixing that might damage the walls of the historic church building. Overall, I am pleased to say that the exhibition was well received and the local community enjoyed seeing their work on display.

Living Stones Book, Holy Trinity Church, Jesmond, 2021-22
As part of my work on Holy Trinity's Centenary, I was tasked with producing a book which would celebrate the community of the church and what people's faith meant to them. I compiled stories, poetry, artwork, photography, and Bible verses in an attractive book format which went through a rigorous editing process.

Spring & Co. Community Cafe, 2022
Spring & Co. aims to be a cafe with a difference and hopes to actively engage the residents of Walker in Newcastle’s East End. Not only will the cafe sell coffee and cake, it will be a safe place for locals to socialise, discuss pastoral issues and hold their own events. I was approached to design branding and publicity for the community cafe opening soon in Walker. Initially, I was asked to produce a flyer advertising community consultation which helped facilitate. I then went on to design flyers, posters and a banner for their pop-up trail.

Lasagne Every Day, 2022
For fun, I decided to conduct a branding exercise where I designed a selection of logos for a made-up fashion brand, Lasagne Every Day. The logo went through 17 iterations until I was happy and combines an illustrated lasagne and modified typographic elements. Placing the logo onto t-shirts required Photoshop-ing and overall I was happy with results. Some friends have offered to buy the shirts if I ever sold them!

Topkapi Palace Commission, 2022
Topkapi Palace, Istanbul is an architectural masterpiece spanning the centuries and was one of seats of the Sultans. In this piece I tried to show the how the wooded courtyard's trees and the palace's cloises blur into one. The trees also hide and reveal certain architectural masses and elements and draw people into the palace's archways.

Print Matters: Ex Libris Collection, 2022
Brochure Here: https://issuu.com/ncl_amgs/docs/17032022_finished_brochure_for_issuu
The exhibition aimed to showcase printmakers and printed works that reflect modernity. Some of the artworks were autobiographical and others are referential commentaries on modern life. The earliest work dated from 1734 and the latest, 2022; all were timely, displaying ideas of power, prestige, technological advancement, progressive ideologies, and temporality. Each theme aimed to unpick one of these aspects of modernity and they question our understanding of the now.
While some think of prints as mere reproductions of original paintings, prints are far more than just a copy of the original; they are an artistic re-creation by the printmaker, made possible through printing technology. The ingenuity with which the prints are made and the guarantee of quality has often led the way, and society has been both transformed and documented by the skilled crafts of professional printmakers. The work displayed in Print Matters: Ex Libris Collection has a wide range of print media. Each type of print has different processes involved. Since the use of woodblock printing in China circa 593 AD and the invention of the Gutenberg Press in 1440 AD, printing has been used by societies and individuals to spread ideas, to exchange goods, and to, quite literally, make money. Fast forward to the 21st century, 3D printers are now able to produce mechanical devices, medical aids, and even food.
Traditionally in the United Kingdom, collections have been comprised of historic and art works. The Ex Libris Collection aims to reflect modern society and catalogue artworks that are timely. In doing so, the collection becomes a snapshot in space and time.

Curation as Architectural Strategy, 2019
I was invited to talk about my curatorial approach to architectural design at BALTIC39 (now High Bridge Works). My presentation was a follow up to my final degree project and was a chance to speak about my work with a larger audience.

Eclipse Newspaper Article, 2018
In this article of the Eclipse Newspaper (a free newspaper for and by the people) I wrote about the difficulties locals in Shieldfield had overcome during the "studentification" of the area. This involved interviewing local residents and researching planning policies.

In-Vent Competition -  Northumbria Architecture Society
The Tyne and Wear Metro is a light railway system that ties together much of Sunderland, Newcastle and their perifferies. As part of the Northumbria Architecture Society committee, I created a breif for a 48hr competion aimed at students studying architecture at both Northumbria and Newcastle universities.
The competition was to creatively reimagine one of the ventiliation shafts at Cross Carliol Street and find a use for a “dead space” within Newcastle’s city centre. As part of the competion I invited a collection of local artists, academics and architects to speak about the importance of place-making. This “in-conversation” style event aimed to inspire competition entrants and give them  ideas for their own entries. We held an exhibition and awards evening at Shieldfield Art Works where a panel of judges, made up of architects and RIBA representives from across the North East, selected winners and runners up and gave out cash prizes. The winning entry was then displayed in Newcastle Central Library across the road from the hypothetical site.
