so canonically dean hates cops and nazis and cas killed the kkk and the westboro baptist church right? how are there no anarchist destiel aus?
cas is born into the quiverfull movement but starts reading anarchoqueer literature and leaves: he gets into community gardening and forest defence. crustpunk dean riding the rails and getting all his meals from community kitchens, getting into dustups with nazi skinheads at bars and punk shows and joining protests in black bloc to fight the cops. sam is part of the national lawyers guild ofc itās his job to keep dean out of jail. dean and cas eventually meet (probably while blowing up logging equipment or molotoving cop cars) and decide to start homesteading together: their produce goes to the local foodbank and they have community cookouts on the weekends
i donāt have the attention span to write this but how does it not exist
I mean, with almost 125k fics on AO3 alone, how sure are we that it doesn't exist? I am willing to bet the right combination of tags would bring up something to that general effect.
That said, if I was gonna write Explicitly Political Leftist Flavored Fanned Fiction for Destiel, what EYE would do with it would be something of a very late 19th/early 20th century labor organizing bent. Something something Cas is the privileged son of a factory owner, something something Dean is a labor organizer, something something the angels are capitalists something the demons are like. idk the Pinkertons probably. something something Cas becomes a class traitor by siding with the striking workers something something might noodle around with the way that racism is frequently leveraged to splinter worker solidarity by pitting working class people against each other instead of against the people in power, something something Chuck tries to burn down the factory for the insurance payout with workers inside because that's easier for him than negotiating with a union or paying a fair wage, something something everyone reading gets reminded why unions are important, I get to reference the Haymarket Affair because it's my fic I probably will never write so I can do that if I want to, etc. etc.
In short. Dean hates cops and the Confederacy and loves killing Nazis, Cas hates racists and homophobes and Republicans wow that was a redundant list, and there should be more Destiel Literature that takes advantage of these facts.

i hate charlieās death for so many reasons but especially because itās just a classic case of fridging. she is killed gratuitously and horrifically violently for manpain and nothing else. her death exists solely to hurt male characters and has no weight on the narrative beyond that. her death is quickly moved on from and isnāt about her as a person at all. itās wildly misogynistic and incredibly disrespectful.
and it extra pisses me off because up till charlie, supernatural has, for all its flaws, pretty much avoided this type of true fridging. like, consider some of the other big female character deaths up to this point. bela? dies for reasons related to her own plot arc and not to hurt sam and dean. ellen and jo? deeply impactful deaths treated seriously where they are given agency and control and the similar respect to what a male characterās sacrifice would have. mary and jess? very obviously intentionally interrogating the trope of women dying to motivate male characters, NOT blindly reproducing it.
and iām not saying thereās no elements of misogyny to any of those deaths! but they arenāt a woman being killed violently and permanently for shock value and to cheaply reduce her to a brief source of pain for a male character. charlieās death, on the other hand, is basically the same as the green lantern comic that originated the term. just find and replace āgirlfriendā for ālesbian bestieā and ārefrigeratorā for ābathtubā. imo she dies because sheās a woman, not because sheās queer, but the fact that sheās their only out queer character at that time truly adds insult on top of insult.

Cas is the angelās angel, the results guy, the one who does the dirty work, the hatchet man, the heavyā¦
Heās dangerously effective.
This is one of the reasons Cas is so valuable to Heaven. But the thing that makes him a unique special-ops type soldier also makes him a terrible yes-man. Cas has creativity and willfulness in spades.
In 8x17 Goodbye Stranger, when Cas approaches Naomi to tell him heās found the angel tablet, he hardly lets her get a word in edge-wise, interrupting her often:
INT. NAOMI'S OFFICE - NIGHT CASTIEL (rushing into her office): I found it. NAOMI: Tell the Winchester the crypt is empty. Then you can come backā CASTIEL (shaking his head the whole time in disagreement, interrupting her): It's warded against angels. NAOMI: Well, you can come backā CASTIEL (interrupting again): Crowley's demons are still in town, and we're running out of time. What should I do? NAOMI (sputtering a bit, on her heels): Handle it.
"Handle it" means⦠use your judgment in this highly evolving, volatile situation. Naomi can afford to give vague, open-ended commands like this because she knows Cas will figure something out. His creativity and forcefulness means he doesnāt need step-by-step instructionsāhe adapts and problem-solves.
That same trait makes him a terrible lackey, because he wonāt just nod along and obey without question. He interprets orders in his own way, which can make him unpredictable.
When heās aligned with someone, it makes him an unstoppable asset. When heās not, it makes him a problem.

DONāT SKIP, PLEASE I BEG YOU.
Please, I beg you ā if you're reading this, donāt look away. Every second matters.
Children in Gaza are wasting away before our eyes. Starvation is not a silent death ā it screams through every rib, every bone showing beneath their skin. I am a mother, and my little boy Qais is one of them. Heās just a baby, too small to endure this kind of suffering. Your donation could mean the difference between life and death. Please, help us feed Qais and the countless children who have nothing left but pain.
This famine in Gaza is not a natural disaster ā it is man-made, and it is killing our children.
1. The Israeli blockade has cut off access to food, clean water, and essential supplies, turning Gaza into an open-air prison where starvation spreads rapidly.
2. Deliberate obstruction of humanitarian aid prevents food and medical supplies from reaching those in desperate need ā including children like my baby boy, Qais.
3. Destruction of farmland and infrastructure from relentless bombings has made it nearly impossible for families to grow or access food.
From the depths of a grieving motherās heart, I beg you ā donāt let Qais starve to death. Heās only a child, his only crime is being born in Gaza. His little body trembles in my arms as I watch him shrink before my eyes. Please donāt look away. Please donāt let him fade into silence like so many others. Every dollar, every share, every act of compassion could save him. I am pleading with everything I have ā help me keep my son alive.
PLEASE DONATE HERE
If Qais was your only child, would you leave him to face his fate alone?
DONATE HERE PLEASE

DON'T SKIP, I BEG YOU āšØ you're the only hope to save a childšš

cas is tracing every line of dean's crow's feet with his fingers, seemingly on a quest to admire every detail of his face. he places a kiss on dean's temple and a contented sigh escapes his lips as soon as they touch dean's skin. he almost whispers. "i was a fool for thinking i could die without knowing what this feels like." dean turns on his side to look at cas. "what what feels like?" he asks. "you know" cas says, catching on to him. dean can barely hide a smirk. "yeah. i do. and you were, by the way. a fool. the biggest fool in the world." he kisses him, then. kisses him as though it's the only way to make him stay. but he knows better now, feels it in everything. feels it in the way cas looks at him, and the hand on his thigh when they watch TV, feels it in the way he compliments his cooking, and the scribbled notes he leaves for dean to find when something does come up. he can barely read them, but it's the thought that counts. it's a truth to him now, that he can trust him. that he will stay. that he will always come back home. that they are home to each other.

Spn Headcanons about angels healing abilities
This has been an idea rattling around my head for a while, hopefully I can explain it in a coherent way.
My theory is about angelic healing when it comes to disabilities. Itās something Iāve always been curious about as someone who was born disabled.
To what extend can angels heal people? We already know they can heal regular injuries like cuts, bruises and whatnot, as well as stuff like tumors (like in that scene with Cas and the crying baby, I donāt remember which ep), but how far does that go, like whatāre their limitations? What are the rules? (Any good magic system has rules, even angelic ones)
My theory for the angelās magic system (for lack of a better term) is that their healing powers work on the basis of returning someoneās body to their ānatural stateā (uninjured)
So if youāre born disabled like I was, being disabled is my bodyās natural state.
So with that pretense, would that mean angels canāt heal disabilities? I feel like it might lean towards yes, but also would depend if itās something youāre born with or get through a form of injury/accident.
For me, my disability effects the very way my body was formed at a molecular level (I have hEDS among other things), so āhealingā it in any aspect would basically require undoing and redoing my bodyās structure at probably an atomic level (Iām no biologist so idk if those are the right terms, but yk what I mean). That seems like an ability only God/Chuck would have, and if I know anything about him, he probably nerfed my body while making me for shits and giggles. (He would absolutely do that fr, heās a petty bitch)
My body is naturally kinda resistant to healing right anyway, so I have a feeling that I might be difficult to heal even with all that angelic healing mojo.
So along that line, I headcanon that people who have chronic, lifelong disabilities canāt be cured entirely by angelic healing. Like they might be able to mitigate your symptoms, especially flare ups, but not like snap their fingers and suddenly make you able-bodied.
Even if they could magically make me able-bodied, I honestly donāt want that anyway. It might sound crazy to any able-bodied person, but being disabled is a part of me, always has and always will be. I donāt crave a cure as much as I want better healthcare and better accessibility. (Like they do in Star Trek. God I wish it were like that)
Rant aside, this is a part of the canon of any Spn fics I write (bc it matters to me, k?)
I also think it would be very funny if Cas was trying to heal me and would be so confused as to why itās barely working. Heās adorable when confused. I love him <3
